Aww Lisa...once again I admire your vulnerability to share your struggle with irrational fears/anxiety. Me too. You're not alone. So enjoy watching yours and Andre's adventures. Congratulations on 10K subscribers!
Lisa - I understand your anxiety cycling down hills. I have to say though, that over time I was more able to cycle downhill on a paved road - the cobbles and unsealed stuff is still quite scary for me . (I have even been known to get off my bike and walk it down the hill !) Hope it gets easier for you. I'm sending lots of bravery from me in Australia to you over there.
Thanks so much Jeannie! Oh yes, I've walked a bike down many a hill! 🙈 I know practice will help, that's why I'm hoping to cycle a bit more now having my own bike. Thanks for the encouragement! 🤗
This is the fourth video of yours that I have watched. I follow several RUclips channels with similar content. I can say that your channel is refreshing. The humor, interesting information about places to stay, sights in the area and the way in which all this has been edited makes this a top 3 worthy channel for me when it comes to campers, camping and off grid living.
Wow, thank you! That means a lot. We often question why we upload to RUclips as the amount of effort is hardly justified. But we still love making videos and love sharing them so to see your nice comment is encouraging.

I am so with you on the cycling downhill … And I learned to ride a bike when I was 4 or 5 😂 My husband taught me to constantly brake and it (kind of) works 😉
Glad to hear I'm not alone! I always blame it on only learning to cycle at 21 and my fear of heights doesn't help 🙈 let's just say I've worn through a pair of brakes before! Thanks for watching 🤗
Hey there great video thanks for sharing! With your anxiety issues (I’m an Emergency Room nurse) and an on the spot easy help that you can do when anxiety attacks is just simply remember - 4 SECONDS- breath in through your nose taking 4 seconds to do so and gently breath out through your mouth for 4 seconds. I tell patients ‘smell the candle, gently blow out the candle. It may help in the future. 😊👍🌸
France is great for the parking and scenery, I prefer the smaller roads, 150 miles in a day is OK and it's easy to stop for a break. I should think you will rush off south as it's very wintery at the moment 😕 👍👍👍👍
We always love being in France. And contrary to popular option we find the people in France to be super friendly and welcoming. But yes, we have to go south now. Fast. 😁
We’re 3 weeks ahead of you. Just came through Normandy (from the UK), spent a week in Brittany and are currently near La Rochelle heading south. We’ve got three video’s up on our site if you’re interested in the route we took? Not going as far as Morocco on this one, only Spain & Portugal, but we will in the future. Really interested to follow you for some tips! Wayne & Janine ❤
I am the same nice and flat happy cyclist but when it’s up and down not happy at all. Enjoying your vlogs, we also are off to Morocco in our landrover in November
I don’t think you need to go off road just watched the roaming Radfords trip in huge camper van to Morocco and they were fine. Also lots of good campsites with pools and good price there. We downloaded the maps tracks for Africa as well have great trip❤
The speed limit changes on French roads are mad. We have a Tom Tom camper which alerts when you go 5k over the limit. It can be annoying but is useful to ensure you don’t miss a limit change.
Millie looks so good, I'm still grieving Irelands exit from the RWC so this was a very welcome video. So, refreshing and uplifting. - Your French accents... :-( must do better... A lot of Northern France close to Belgium is still very flat like the lowlands, but I still love the cute farmhouses and villages. Its so rich in culture and history. - How clever are the French. Now, that's not something I say too often. They provide wonderful Aires so that people use them and some of those people spend EUROs in the local economy. This is exactly what I would love to be doing, but I'm married and I'm not sure that we could be as civil as you guys living in such a small space together. Two motorhomes, maybe that is the answer. - Lisa - use the brakes on steep slopes, that is what they are for and you even have an electric motor for the uphill bits. Man up Lisa, how oh how are the Bokkes still in the Rugby.... (ok, I watched the rest of the video and well done Lisa for overcoming your fears) - It was quite poignant when that plane flew overhead when you were at the war memorial. Sad to say that we seem to have learnt nothing. - I love your choice of music for the drone footage when you guys are cycling back to Millie - I was a bit nervous when I saw Lisa cycling towards the cliffs at Etretat. Amazing scenery. Thanks guys for sharing, safe travelling. Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks as always for your thoughtful comments. 😋 Apart from the RWC bits. 😄 As this is a long one I'll do it Q&A style: Q: Your French accents... :-( must do better... I'm curious, do you speak Afrikaans ? and if so, did you understand the Dutch when you were in Holland ? A: Afrikaans is a great language for travelling as very few people understand it (outside of SA or Holland). We can follow Flemish reasonably easy as it's 'flatter' but most of a Dutch conversation is understandable and we can read it as well. Dutch people struggle more understanding spoken Afrikaans than the other way around. Q: In Ireland water is free and very accessible but waste disposal is a nightmare. But, if you want water, come to Ireland ! A: In most countries we found free water available. Even in France and Germany. Just depends on the location I guess. In France there's none of the struggles for waste disposal like in Germany thankfully. Q: Which watch have you got Andre ? (random, I know) A: We both use a version of the Amazfit Bip for many years. I have the Bip 3 Pro. We like the affordability, long battery life, waterproof. HRM and accurate GZPS Q:1.88 per litre for Diesel here in Ireland, last week before the budget I paid 1.82 / liter, which country in Europe in your experience is the cheapest ? Spain I think.... A: Poland is pretty cheap in the EU. We had the best prices this year in Bosnia but it has crept up everywhere now. Spain will be nice. It's about 15% cheaper than most of Western Europe. Q:I so love France. Even the North of France. I love the countryside and the villages. A lot of Northern France close to Belgium is still very flat like the lowlands, but I still love the cute farmhouses and villages. Its so rich in culture and history. A: We also gush over every little village we explore. It's a massive country and has wonderful diversity in nature and countryside. Q: How clever are the French. Now, that's not something I say too often. They provide wonderful Aires so that people use them and some of those people spend EUROs in the local economy. Come on Ireland and the rest of Europe, you know it makes sense. A: You would think. We often get comments from people dismissing motorhome travelers as 'low quality tourists'. The last one in from the Netherlands even suggested 'locals' will be upset if municipalities dedicate a parking space to motorhomes as space for housing is a problem. But you know what they say about opinions.. Q: I hate you so much. Ok, I don't but I do envy you. This is exactly what I would love to be doing, but I'm married and I'm not sure that we could be as civil as you guys living in such a small space together. Two motorhomes, maybe that is the answer. A: The truth is this kind of travel is great, but as a lifestyle it's probably not for everyone. Most people tend to romanticize what we do. But 2 motorhomes can work. 😋 Q: Lisa - use the brakes on steep slopes, that is what they are for and you even have an electric motor for the uphill bits. Man up Lisa, how oh how are the Bokkes still in the Rugby.... (ok, I watched the rest of the video and well done Lisa for overcoming your fears) A: It's just an issue of confidence. We'll just have to practice a couple of techniques and keep at it. Q: I love your choice of music for the drone footage when you guys are cycling back to Millie A: Thanks! I can always tell the mood I was in when editing when I watch the videos afterwards. The music usually carries the same feel throughout the video.
