He has great insight into the human condition. He can invent characters and stories from whole cloth; he can write vulnerable lyrics that are very close to what he is going through personally and how he feels at a certain point in his life; he can write silly wordplay off-cuff-lyrics that are very funny; he can sound aggressive, selfish, very sexual, pompous or kind, sensitive, naive and childlike. His depth of knowledge about the history of popular music in America and of all aspects of making music is deep and just continues to grow. And yes, he takes his live performances seriously but clearly experiences joy performing and feeding off the energy of the crowd. Did I mention that he is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, technician, entrepreneur and has a great sense of visual art and design?
I've seriously fallin back in love with his music again, I haven't heard it in so long but I am going back and listen to his White Strip music again, He is such a thoughtful man. "I know we are gonna be friends" is a classic
Musicsavedme the message of the song now that I think about it is talking about everyone and god, love when songs can take on a personal and universal level all in one. Jack really did it with his new music
Jack doesn't just sing, he wails and makes what he's feeling in the moment of performance so palpable. When he and the band plays, it only amplifies that even more. His voice could end wars, incredible 💙
people need to stop describing things as having the power to "end wars" because OBJECTIVELY there has never been anything with that kind of power... because in case you were living under a rock, war is still happening LOL... nobody has ended it yet....
I am surrounded by love and have a great social life, but when he sings "what have I done, I have pushed away everyone...." makes me feel all alone and in emotional pain on a deserted island. Got me all in my feels
Mixing was still a bit ???, especially when the guitar came in. Sooo fucking loud. SNL Has the worst sound in the industry, and I think it has to do with something about not being able to do proper rehearsals, or that the stage changes format from sound-check to performance.
You know he was probably thinking of Meg and his children during the writing and recording of this song. I’ve never seen such connection by live between two people than I have with Meg and him. You know he’s probably got the same thing going on with his kids too.
High on my wish list is to see Jack White perform again, seen him and Meg perform many years ago and was blown away, really felt like i was part of something truly magical.
I hear echoes of TRY ME, JAMES BROWN and ROCK AND ROLL SUICIDE, DAVID BOWIE save for the break. White's band, particularly the backing singers, is superb. And the break should be basis for another song. White's solo would make Hendrix stand upright.
Haha, of course, I'm sorry , just a dumb joke. But it's that one, an 'Ernie Ball Music Man St. Vincent Signature' in Vincent Blue, with some custom pickups in it, I'd say. Sadly it seems these guitars have already gone out of production, maybe the shape is just to unconventional for most people.
I think he was a little uncomfortable with something at the beginning :/ At least, when the music lowered and he sang 'alone', I like it. I haven't been following him as a regular fan so I can't compare his voice through the years but his music is just awesome and he's a great musician! I love seeing him again :')
You can tell he feels every word he sings, and that's why he always gives such emotional and energetic performances

Jen Jen Who that song makes me cry
Dig
That was one of the most emotional performances I have ever seen.
The emotion is incredible
Musicsavedme the message of the song now that I think about it is talking about everyone and god, love when songs can take on a personal and universal level all in one. Jack really did it with his new music
Musicsavedme I agree,he used alot of emotion for that song in particular.
Jack doesn't just sing, he wails and makes what he's feeling in the moment of performance so palpable. When he and the band plays, it only amplifies that even more. His voice could end wars, incredible 💙

@@lazylion420 I bet you're fun at parties.
@@amylynn5778 cool NPC response. fuckin loser lol
@@lazylion420 haha that's undoubtedly true. Fucking hate those utterly braindead replies.
He just ripped my heart out of my chest and walked away with it.
This is my favorite Jack White song. He's always comes across as genuine but this! Made me cry the way his voice cracks. I love his work.
"let's take the worst, and somehow make it the best" MASSIVE chills man.
Literally what Jack did with that cheap red plastic guitar in his TWS days.
music.saves. us. reminds of Carrie fisher’s ”take your broken heart, make it into art” ;)
Corny lyric that a middle schooler could write
I absolutely adore that verse
@@Spookyaki1 Really? Then go and write a better lyric, smartass
I am surrounded by love and have a great social life, but when he sings "what have I done, I have pushed away everyone...." makes me feel all alone and in emotional pain on a deserted island. Got me all in my feels
This was better than Over and Over and Over. Mixing was better and cues were hit. Solid performance.
Couldn't agree more
Mixing was still a bit ???, especially when the guitar came in. Sooo fucking loud. SNL Has the worst sound in the industry, and I think it has to do with something about not being able to do proper rehearsals, or that the stage changes format from sound-check to performance.
❤️
SNL constantly mixes their vocals too low it’s so annoying
This performance makes the song even better
It truly does
I really like this song. Jack White is a very handsome and talented man. Great voice.
This is magical. After the sound issues with the first song, he came back and nailed it. Nothing like a real musician who can play & sing live.
His energy here is great
Ami earth He is an absolute legend I have never seen an unconvincing performance by him
Ami earth it’s so beautiful. even the song on the actual album got the same energy. gets me tearin up a bit.
Because he wrote a true love song to a woman that didn’t trust him. So, she left him. There’s a lot of emotion behind it.
You know he was probably thinking of Meg and his children during the writing and recording of this song. I’ve never seen such connection by live between two people than I have with Meg and him. You know he’s probably got the same thing going on with his kids too.
Blown away, chills, feels....so damn good.
Let's take a moment to appreciate the thumbnail
Sounds awesome!...not many can sound this good on SNL...What a great lot of musicians and vocalists...So Rad.
So nice to SEE and HEAR that rare musician pursuing their own style, while allowing his influences to shine 🌟
Amazing and handsome musician!!!
that promo pic is so pretty tho
No its gay as f.
@@raghavsharma4011 even if it's gay, it's still better than you
@@KaEPhongLinh Haha okay
Thùy Linh Vũ fellas is it gay to be seen near flowers?
Am a dedicated 70's music guy & bass player. This blew me away !!.. Think it has a bit of Bowie flair to it. Very impressive !!!!... Ian
Wow..just wow!! I totally love it when a performances becomes this emotional!
I love that he is using St.vincent's guitar...
Me too. Pretty cool Guitar.
They really knocked it out of the park with that guitar. I wish they would make a more affordable model so us poor folk can have one too. lol
There is the Sterling version which I think is somewhere between £500 - £700
He is? Then what is she using?
I didn't notice until i read your comment, totally st. Vincent’s guitar is amazing.
A SNL musical performance that actually took my breathe away! 💙💙💙
I like his old beat up looking guitars the most...they give the best sounds I feel.
Sounds great live and on the album too
This was perfect. Jack Whites live vocals always gives me chills
That is an incredible song, and performance.
Genius song 💪💪💪💪
You bring the fire, and I'll add the gasoline. Epic performance.
those ladies are amazing
I love his voice and delivery. What a showman!
The guitar is a healing instrument of the heart ❤.
God, I absolutely love his his voice.
Love the Drummer and the Choir.
Blanca Lilia I'm fairly certain it's Carrie from portlandia and Fred is on keyboard
I think it's Carla Azar. She was in the movie Frank as his drummer. Pretty cool. :P
Juniper Jupiter I think you're right about the drummer actually, i should have guessed by the technique to be honest
Took the last couple of minutes of Bowie's "Five Years" and made it a terrific chorus. Bravo, Jack White!
High on my wish list is to see Jack White perform again, seen him and Meg perform many years ago and was blown away, really felt like i was part of something truly magical.
Good god have mercy on a music lover's heart. This performance left me reeling.
nevar23 saw him on this tour and it sincerely made an imprint on my life. Sounds ridiculous and but it’s true.
❤️❤️❤️
You just can feel his passion for music. Such a talent!👏🏻👏🏻
this is astonishingly beautiful.
Marvelous song.😁
This is my favourite song on the album 🔥❤
The 20s had Cab Calloway, today we have Jack White. He's one hell of a performer, easily the best of this century.
Two songs...
Well this guy is returning in an amazing way!!
Mixing soul with electronic rock. Nice
I 💗💗💗 this! We are all connected by love! 🙌🙌🙌💗💗💗⚡️⚡️⚡️
Now this is an episode of that show I'd like to see.
I just got so much more hype to see him in October, wow
makes me so happy to see the majority of love comments. youtube can be pretty ok sometimes
His most recent album is so good.
I was here watching for his performance I love this song
the gospel part is amazing in this. it just hits so hard
We're connected by Jack White.
I can not wait to see you in 9 MORE DAYS😁
Yo solo conozco a José Novero.
William Wallace Jajajajaja todo por una mala traducción ...
Dear Jack White..you are one heck of a gifted Musician..
he has so much emotion in this song😭😍💜💜💜
Simply brilliant.
Jack White is the only artist that I'll wait and listen to every single song until the very last note has completely finished reverberating...
I hear echoes of TRY ME, JAMES BROWN and ROCK AND ROLL SUICIDE, DAVID BOWIE save for the break. White's band, particularly the backing singers, is superb. And the break should be basis for another song. White's solo would make Hendrix stand upright.
his vocal performance makes this song shine
i simply LOOOOVE this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is one his most beautiful songs ever
woooooooo jack white!!!!
Saw him in Lubbock, Texas. It was amazing!!
St. Vicente's guitar sounds nice for this song.
Blown away by his performance, as always
Blown away by artistry.
All is perfect 👌
Oh...my God...crying...Thank you again...Kicri...
Beautiful song ❤️
I agree we are!! ;) guitar break made my heart skip a beat for real

DAMM MAN !! THAT WAS F-ING AWESOME!!!🤘👏👏
This is amazing. I love you Jack White!
Love his guitar playing as always
Magnifique ! Tellement d’émotions qui passent ! Je pense a mon papa parti dans cet ailleurs mais Connected by love pour toujours 💞
Jack White is a god among men. His emotion in this song is so intense and palpable it's insane. I hope to someday be half as artistic as he is.
tried to stay up last night to watch ,but fell asleep glad it was on here.love you Jack and your new album.
This is ART
He put alot of emotion into that song.
He´s to die for.
Brilliant! Mesmerized!
I love you too.
the keyboard player looks like fred armisen in a wig
YESSS! my thoughts exactly!
lmao! I thought the same thing when I first saw this. Thought he was sneaking in for another cameo lol. ;)

Yeaaahh!!!!
Eu adorei essa música. E essa apresentação ao vivo foi incrível! Obrigado, Jack White e banda!
Esse cara é absurdo, ele não envelhece nunca! 😱
Feeling IT❤
The chaos is awesome.
Certain artists channel the Infinite. And they can introduce you to your own soul. That’s this. 🙏♾️
Is that St. Vincent’s guitar? If so that would be amazing!
Yes, that's her signature model
You mean her personal one?!
Sorry I mean, her designed line of guitars
Haha, of course, I'm sorry , just a dumb joke.
But it's that one, an 'Ernie Ball Music Man St. Vincent Signature' in Vincent Blue, with some custom pickups in it, I'd say.
Sadly it seems these guitars have already gone out of production, maybe the shape is just to unconventional for most people.
They're still in production, they even added a HH version this year
I think he was a little uncomfortable with something at the beginning :/ At least, when the music lowered and he sang 'alone', I like it.
I haven't been following him as a regular fan so I can't compare his voice through the years but his music is just awesome and he's a great musician! I love seeing him again :')
That is one of the coolest guitars I've ever seen
my guy since day one 1997 Bastille day xoxox
Let's take the worst and somehow make it into the best.
Love u Jack White.
