Excellent tutorial! I had a new keyboard that didn't behave like my Leopold (shift esc is the tilde) and this tutorial was really straightforward in getting that changed. Thank you!
Thank you x1000 I was really struggling with how to do this and your tutorial was the easiest to follow. It only took me like 20 minutes instead of fumbling for hours trying to do it solo. Much appreciated
Mannn! I fcking love you (no homo), literally save me tons of hours looking for a solution. I am new to this hobby btw, keep it up! And I do also hope your channel subscriptions blow-up! Thanks again. U da real MVP!
Damn I haven't even bought a custom keeb but was looking at some parts and wondered what qmk means well now I know what qmk is thanks and ofc I subbed hope ur channel becomes big one day 😁
Thanks for the video. Is it possible to remap a preassembled mech keyboard? Im about to buy the Vortex Tab90M ISO-NOR, and I would like to change some keys to match ISO-IT, is this possible? (Im a newbie)
I don't actually have a case for specifically for that build, so I decided to use it without one in order to have easy access to the reset switch and USB port. I mean, you could just use an FR4, acrylic or even painted cardboard plate in the bottom to get the same look.
What did you do to get the < switch to work that is right next to right shift and Z? I flashed the ansi layout and everything works except for the < key. When i push the < key nothing happens. Its like the keyboard doesnt know that its there.
I just successfully flashed QMK on to my Anne Pro 2 and realized that I don't know how to customize my layout. I type with a custom Colemak layout and have added it to Windows, but ideally I'd like to have it be portable on my keyboard.
The Gigaware K28 isn't supported by QMK. As a matter of fact, I don't think it can be configured at all. I tried to look online, its's a cheap keyboard for the Phillippine market, and I couldn't seem to find any documentation on it.
Great Video, spent ages trying all different things. Still having issues though, when flashing my YMD75 it displays this: " Device size = 32768 (0x8000); 30720 bytes remaining Uploading 22272 (0x5700) bytes starting at 0 (0x0) 0x00000 ... 0x00080 0x00080 ... 0x00100 0x00100 ... 0x00180 ETC ETC... 0x05600 ... 0x05680 0x05680 ... 0x05700 *** BootloadHID device disconnected (HidUsb): (Standard system devices) USB Input Device (16C0:05DF:0100) " Which is completely different to what is displayed on yours, I unplug it then plug it back in and none of the keys work as if I hadnt even flashed it.. Any ideas ? Thanks, Hutch
@Peter Mortensen kind of, I the usb I was using was very slow at transfering data so I swapped to a different one and was able to flash it before there was an issue, it occasionally happens still but you just retry till it finally gets through 😅
I'm aware, it literally says "DFU device connected" in QMK. I just thought people would have an easier time following along by saying reset mode. Either way, you watched the entire thing, and in the end that's all that matters to me.
your screensaver activated my fight or flight response
if you mean my wallpaper, thanks, it was meant to do just that.
I like this, keep it up!

It feels great knowing people are still getting use out of this years later. Thank you!

I thought this was a QMK Firmware Intro. This should have been entitled 'A Beginners Tutorial to Online QMK Configurator.'
Dude, this is such a good guide; thank you!
I'm typing this (very slowly) from my newly flashed planck :)
im typing this very slowly from my gherkin
Yeah, that's all I could manage :p

Thanks for doing this video! Do you normally use your keyboard without a case? I like the minimal look!
I don't actually have a case for specifically for that build, so I decided to use it without one in order to have easy access to the reset switch and USB port. I mean, you could just use an FR4, acrylic or even painted cardboard plate in the bottom to get the same look.
@@nonnegaard Thank you for the tips!
DZ60rgb v2 ther is a buton in the back of the bord press it it goes in dfu mode
This was really helpful!!
Nice animation bro!

THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!
thanks for your help man.
Glad I even could :)
Thanks!! But how about editing key maps and making a hex file from there? Out of the qmk config? That’s where I’m stuck
Hi Jason
Me to. Do you solved it ?
Sanou hello yes I did, it was not easy. I needed help from a lot of people. Where are you stuck?
@@RetroExhibitCollective hi Jason thanks for your fast answering. I found the problem and fixed it
thank you for this guide
now i'm trying to figure out how to reset my damn daisy, it's just does not enter bootloader mode
haha, i've just found the guide
i guess it'll work

How did you manage to make it nordic with the numbers and æøå?
Do i just flash the standard ANSI layout and my windows will make it iso nordic?
@@soonishsoon2063 Yep. It converts it automatically.
Life saver!!
Hi I would like to ask how do I know what keyboard hex file should i use because i am not sure about what board they are using for the gigaware k28
The Gigaware K28 isn't supported by QMK. As a matter of fact, I don't think it can be configured at all. I tried to look online, its's a cheap keyboard for the Phillippine market, and I couldn't seem to find any documentation on it.
Cool video. What if your PCB is not on the list or you are unsure?
If your PCB isn't on the list, it's probably not compatible.
help plz,qmk still doesnt detect my dz60rgb v2 even tho the RGB lights up T_T,I've tried reset button, space+B ,Esc key everything.
@Peter Mortensen i bought it from kbdfans
nice tutorial, what about country specific letters like ä ü ö, should I just keep the default 0 layer and let the computer os handle it?
I use æøå, and the keys I have mapped are regular ANSI. They swap themselves around to æøå. So yes, keep default layer 0.
Magnus Nonnegaard alright thanks :)
Magnus Nonnegaard but what if a choose to set like an ä on layer 1? should I also choose the ansi key?
is it possible to map certain keys to open software (ex: F1 opens Zoom, F2 opens Chrome etc.)
I’m pretty dumb with softwares, but what is qmk file for if were using the toolbox?
wooooOooooowwwwww i didn’t know that buddy awesommeeeee jooobbb! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👊🏽👊🏽
i like how your comment says it was edited too 😂
Hvordan har du lavet Nordic bogstaver i QMK?
it isn't letting me download. It just brings me to the website and than just does nothing. Could anyone help me?
So, might be a dumb question, or not, I dunno, but is this available for MacOS?
I've got a KC60 from Drop but whenever I reset it, it isnt recognized by the QMK Toolbox. Would you know the fix for this?
The KC60 uses the GH60 PCB. I don't own one, but it's quite common, so you should be able to find documentation on it. Hope it helps!
Hey, I asking myself right now If I the na keys(which are the only one I can select) will be registered as the german keys that I need ?
Yep, the keys will register as the German ones.
Great Video, spent ages trying all different things. Still having issues though, when flashing my YMD75 it displays this:

When I got in to plug my keyboard back in it does not recognize need help
I have an dz60 rev 3 and there is no such thing to choose.
do you do this after you build the keyboard
thanks you very much!
I just got my first macro pad, and well, no instructions on how to reset it. Wish me luck
Rest in peace

thank you so much
Thanks broo!
No problem :=)
ALSO the correct term is DFU mode or Device Firmware Updater - Mode
I'm aware, it literally says "DFU device connected" in QMK. I just thought people would have an easier time following along by saying reset mode. Either way, you watched the entire thing, and in the end that's all that matters to me.
