At the height of their powers, here's a clip of the band performing at the much-maligned Self Aid in 1986. Nice song from ireland's answer to Wet Wet Wet.
Saw them back in the day's of "The Lark in the Park" in Blackrock Park, good band with decent tunes and managing to incorporate an Irish influnce into contemporary music. Two decades later we have feckin Boyzone and Westloife, where did it all go wrong :-(
metal 1313 it's obvious your musical tastes are up where the sun don't shine! If you've nothing good to say about the lovely catchy Beautiful Affair say nothin at all.
thats the original banjo player on this vid, a brother of the guy singing in fact, later years kieran the banjo player left and went on to do radio and tv presenting, and was replaced by a fair haired guy dont know his name, so maybe this is the guy u met
@Drrummer beatles are great band that were all things to all people boyband, innovative rock/pop band the stones are a great band too. the way they mixed up american music blues soul country etc etc made them leaders of the pack and as far as led zep goes sure they half inched a lot of blues songs and got credit for it but the way they played blues ( very very loud and heavy) was second to none.
Hello, Do you guys know if they ever had a different banjo player? On our trip to Dublin we saw a banjo player who supposedly played with Stockton's Wing. I don't know at what time, but....
@Drrummer yeah drummer that is a relevant point. but stocktons wing right there in that moment in time sounded like some godawful pub/wedding band trying to play music (reggae) they really know nothing about. their trad crossed with pop and reggae sounds godawful. horselips would wipe the floor with em by the way.

You are all forgetting the best musician on that stage. The drummer Fran Breen who later moved to Nashville to tour with Nancy Griffith.

The number of jobs in Ireland went down after this gig.
I think the base player was Stephen Cooney.
