I've been using fiio btr3 that way with a 15cm Jack to jack cable with Beyerdynamics custom one Pro since the last winter before the lockdown and I absolutely love that solution. The btr3 is on the headband on the built in clip and most people can't even see it for until I show it to them
Great video! I'm actually gonna use them on my IE300. I ordered a normal MMCX to recessed MMCX adaptor that will make the UTWS5 work with the IE300 off Aliexpress.
My first DAC was the iFi xCAN, and I got it to go with the Hifiman Edition XS, my first set of headphones that weren't from Apple, Bose, or Sony. It's great that I have the xCAN which can drive basically anything, and it's nice to be able to walk around with IEMs plugged in, but the UTWS5 is definitely compelling. I still find myself grabbing my old Sony WH1000-XM3s all the time because I don't want to worry about a cable getting caught on something (very dangerous while cooking), and I don't have to have another thing in my pockets.
Great video! How much sound quality is lost with the Focal Elex when using the Fiio? Is it still better than the Hifiman Deva Pro via Bluetooth adapter?
Hmmm, Never considered that comparison. I’ll see if I can do that in the near future. How do these compare to Hifiman’s Bluetooth dongle? Interesting question.
Are the MMCX connections stable or strong enough so the UTWS5's don't fall off the headphones? How can you ensure the MMCX connection does not come apart? If you want to use APTX Adaptive, your transmitting device, as far as I know, needs to output APTX Adaptive. To watch movies without lip sync delay, APTX Adaptive can come in useful in some instances.
Are the He1000v2 opposite the Arya's? Because you had the fat part of the pads forward and the cable ports pointing backward. More importantly, I really appreciate your way of reviewing HiFi, in that you do a superbly direct and thoughtful analysis of the products sound and value, and last how it compares to other products you have reviewed. Great work, and thanks for sharing your HiFi journey.
I didn’t notice it before, but now that you mention it, they are definitely on backwards in the thumbnail. Hey guys, it’s difficult when you’re under that spotlight!
@@MrAyrit Very understandable. That's not nearly as bad as the time I wore my Sennheisers backwards for a whole month because I got them turned around on my headphone stand and didn't notice until I tried playing a video game with them 😅
What codec were you using with UTWS5? I ask because convenience isn't worth the sacrifice of 'adequate'. Personally I plan on using aptx adaptive, which one would think is dang near close to wired, with the Hifiman HE-R9 which is relatively easier to drive. Thanks.
@@MrAyrit the bluetooth/wifi module in your phone has the MAC address of your phone. by turning it on other devices with bluetooth can detect your phone's MAC address then they can locate where you are because your are in close proximity with their device. Hence bluetooth needs location permission.
That’s a hard comparison to make. The utws5 has a lot of possibilities. Im guessing you could get better sound quality with the right iems, but it’s hard to beat the convenience of the xm4, and the sound quality is good for what it is.
I got this but if you are planning to use an IEM over us)2000 with over 4 drivers don’t expect it to have power to drive these to sound good. Don’t have too high expectations. Personally OTE headphones is too much for it to handle.
There’s definitely some truth to that. It may be worth a shot though. Just to see if it will work in someone’s specific situation. Ultimately, I went back to using my XCAN for a portable solution.
@@MrAyrit It's definitely worth buying for me since I wanted the convenience and willing to sacrifice a bit of SQ. I am happy with them though. At that price cannot expect too much. On the IEM I used it is very good and I am happy.

Fiio BTR5 is a dual dac LDAC 990Kbps with s single and balanced dream come true for Bluetooth or plug in a wire if you want at get 384Hz!
P.s. cool video!
Found the new IFI Go Blue is fantastic, been using my Sennheiser HD800S and it's fantastic 💙 👌
Im lucky to watch this video before purchasing this with Sennheizer. Thanks bro
Wanted to use this with sennheiser ie300 will i have a bether sound experience vs lest say technics eah-az80, or other wireless in ear headphones?

I’m iOS, so just AAC for me. I assume you should be able to expect better results with higher end codecs.
@@MrAyrit Thank you very much! Really appreciate the quick reply! Subscribing!
Hi does utws5 works with akg n5005?any issues with the mmcx connection? Thanks in advanced.
I'm waiting for Fiio to make a version strong enough to power Hifiman Susvara.
That will be the day!
Have you tried this with the sundara
Not specifically. It will work, but I don't think it will pair super well.
will the A12T fit in the case?
Sorry, I don’t have it anymore. Unless they’re absolutely huge, i bet they’d fit.
WOW!!!! I just paired these with the Zenns Mangird Tea 2!!! WHAT A FRIGGIN’ MAGICAL PAIRING!!!!
You need to turn on the location to connect
The app wants location data?
Yes it works for me on utws3

What about the BTR3
Haven’t tried that one. I would assume it sounds pretty similar to the single ended portion of the btr5.
Hello Sir, can "FIIO UTWS5 V2.0" be used for planar earphones???
Depends on the model
