Ammo Inc is made in Wisconsin. I'm not saying it's good, but they're pretty proud of that fact. In fact, I can't find anywhere that says any of their ammo is made in Turkey
Headstamps and possibly other components are Turkish, but you're correct that I misspoke. My experience with them that keeps me away still stands. Pinning your comment so others can see it.
Light primer strikes underloaded dirtier than most
Head stamp would have zero to do with the issues your having ..smh
@@sleigh4019 Correct. Read the rest of my comment. It's not the headstamps but the poor quality that causes the problems
It pains me to say this but stay away from Winchester ammunition.
Also win 333. Lots of duds
Does that include their shotgun ammo?
Yep have had their white box be shit 3 different boxes, calibers, and dates
@@jamescottrell7367 Worst rimfire ever.
Even their premium ammo is subpar, and has been for over a decade. A friend had a .270 WSM that we were sighting in, and three rounds out of twenty jumped their crimps and dumped powder in his blind magazine. It’s sad, but the mighty have fallen.
I'm old and lives in the middle east, long time ago I used to shoot winchester ammo nicely but lately we're receiving bad made in usa winchester ammo. All their ammo calibers now are garbage. I really feel sorry and sad for the good old ammo of this ancient company.
Oh wow, very interesting experience you have with exported Winchester. It's unfortunate that they do not make good quality ammo now.
Interesting and thank you for your comment
Well, apparently the stuff we get stateside from them is also not what it used to be. So it's not them exporting low quality ammo, they just have decreased in quality overall.
As someone who used to work at a range that sold exclusively Remington ammo, Remington has dog water quality control on their ammo
Thanks
wasn't there something about them loading entire batches of projectiles upside down?
@@jordanfreeman4170 bro I had seen everything from backwards projectiles, smashed casings, backwards primers, and even just wholesale wrong caliber bullets wedged in to casings
They have been making some doo doo bullets
As the saying goes. "Don't let your enemy make or supply your ammo".
Federal owns Remington ammo now. The quality has gone back up. It was realy bad during the covid rush.
Good to know. I'll have to check it out
Was at a gun shop just today looking for .380 for my newly acquired Beretta M1934… now it’s a bit more clear why there was only 1 box of Blazer and an absolute ton of Ammo Inc.
True
The Winchester Forged is so unbelievably bad, I had a friend who bought a few boxes just because it was in stock. Both of us had ran steel of a number of brands through a number of platforms, but my god, that trash did not run through anything well. A fifty round box of bitchchester 9mm gave me more problems than surplus ammo, tula, and wolf in any caliber combined. As far as ammo inc, I wish I had recorded this but, I had 4 of the 200rnd 9mm cases- two factory new and two reprocessed same lot numbers, all 115gr. Each was at least 9 oz different in weight than their respective counterparts (I used a separate container to be sure that the deviation had nothing to do with the case).
Ammo is one of those subjects where I have encountered very mixed results. A brand I would normally trust like Winchester or Remington has proved a downfall time and time again for my rifles and pistols alike. I have had Remington CoreLokt fail in my 7MM Mauser because it was so underpressure. Winchester ammo that would fail to extract every other round in a bolt action because the brass swelled too much in the chamber. At the same time, brands I wouldn't trust normally turned out fairly decent. Armscor ammo and Wolf Brand Match 22 are extremely accurate planting rounds into one jagged hole. Ammo Inc is very hit or miss, but if I am out of 44 ammo for my Redhawk, I will shoot it because if Elmer Keith couldn't destroy a Red or Blackhawk, Ammo Inc sure won't. Of course, I won't expect decent results, but at least I'd have brass for reloading. Ammo is just such a game of craps, it is a wonder I didn't start handloading much sooner
I've had good luck with pmc.ammo..
PMC is South Korean, and I haven't shot a lot of it but it's been good.
@@8mmmausermanit’s great consistent and clean ammunition. It’s all I run in 556 anymore
Many years ago, my cousin ran a gun shop and I bought a mini14 ranch and bought a box of factory reloads, I think was American Eagle (?). After collecting the spent brass, all 50 rounds had cracked necks and a inverted dent as well. Used Remington core lokt and only had the dent and no cracks.
Ammo Inc scared me recently with my glock 21. A few of the cases came out super bulged due to the powder charges varying between rounds. Needless to say I'll be switching brands.
John.. When you mentioned Aguila 22 super extra , well let me add... I bought a dozen boxes of Aguila about a year ago. I thought the name was corny, but I bought it because it was the last day of a local gun show, and the guy wanted it gone. It was a deal. I ran it in my Ruger 10-22 and was totally surprised how close the groups were! Also ,it always cycled the bolt. So when I researched it , I discovered it was a very high quality ammo. I just picked up another 1000 rounds. The name is silly; super extra; but it really runs great and cycles every time! Nice to see that you agree.
Thanks for the comment. I love the stuff
Yeah I buy that type from them...even though it sounds like a name for a Trojan product l...just saying.
But the stuff is pretty good. I did like Interceptor ammo they did. But I've not seen it very much. My Mossberg 144LSA Loved it.
Aguilla and Fiochi are great brands I’ve had good experiences with
Worst I’ve had was American Eagle.22 LR from 2020. Lots of duds and really varied on power. Fails to reliably cycle semi autos. They all fire but sometimes take a couple tries.
I had a CZ 85(an update of the CZ75) that would eat and fire all brass, steel casings except 1 or 2 duds of UMC, but that was about 30 years ago. The one it did not like was what i think or wanted to say or suspect casings that seemed made of aluminum or very cheap, thin, or weak metal which was a "chrome" or "silver" look to it but was crunched and never fired, issue clearing the chamber. I don't recall who made it, but will never try anything similar again. I've bought reloaded .308, 7.62 NATO, .30-06 from gun shows, shops, local individuals and usually seems that the best is closer to you and few troubles, but there are more shooters and reloaders around here.
Winchester white box also sucks overpressure, blown primers, cracked casings, and throwing 380 in 9mm nato box
380 in a 9mm box WOOF
@@8mmmauserman yeah I thought it was a squib from the significantly lower sound then i looked and the casing was still in the chamber so popped it out and it had 380 headlamp and sure enough it was a 380 then had 38 special overpressure and it cracked the casing and 308 had overpressure and blown primers
The gun show pissin' hawt hand loads are the entire reason to go!
Based
I've had very good luck with ZQI 308 ammo.....bought it a few yrs back and watched video of American went in house to mfg plant and seems legit....Winchester,,,,OMG.... Junk as far as I'm concerned......AAC,,,hoping they are as good as Palmetto firearms....thanks for another GREAT video ..keep it up!
Just picked up a bunch of AAC .308 OTM 168 gr 16.99 a box!
With regard to Turkish ammo, I recently bought 1000 rounds of 9x19 BPS( because at 220 for 1000 how could you not on a budget) and had general success, no serious failures other than some failures to feed which were caused by extreme brass flaking. It was like a glitter bomb had denoted in the pistol. Even only 50 rounds would cause brass to find its way in every nook and cranny. Was able to clean with compressed air but never have seen brass flaking like I have with BPS
I learned my lesson about gun show reloads back in the 1980s. My opinion in the decades since has been that my guns are too valuable to me to risk damaging them by shooting cheap or questionable ammo.
Very true. You don't save money with ammo that breaks your gun
I bought one of thoes surplus lake city/winchester 5.56 m193 420rnd on stripper clips cans like a month before covid started and it was pretty reliable, but cant say about now, have had great luck with the Korean PMC X-tac m855 and m193 so far out of 500 rounds or so
Ammo Inc uses the hardest primers in the history of primers. Be prepared for light strikes.
Correct!!!
All my Lake city ammunition is when Federal ran it have never had a problem with it at all.
Love Federal
I had issues with TulAmmo BrassMAXX in 9mm, with damaged cases that prevent proper feeding (it looks like the bullet damaged the case mouth when it was pressed in).
I’ve had the same personal realization after basically fighting my way through a cheap case of ZSR. I shouldn’t have to dread shooting my guns. Fuck Turkish ammo.
I got burned by gun show ammo reloads, got a 6.5 arisaka 50 rounds for 60 dollars first 15 rounds were good but the 16th got a squib every since then its just sitting here and im afraid to shoot it.
I'll sometimes sell stuff like that as components grade, and it does alright.
Never had an issue with Sterling 12 guage! Academy has Monarch 9mm $.20 a piece. Brass, steel & aluminum.. brass is your best bet...go stock up boys!
Perhaps I should give Sterling a second chance
Ammo Inc .38 and 7.62x39 has provided consistent failures and even better squib loads.
Good to know I'm not alone in that. I wonder how they stay in business.
I've found winchester target 9mm to be ok, but it kept stove piping in my dads M9. Magtech steel and surprisingly Winchester active duty M1152 9mm seemed to work the best. for 5.56, 7.62x39, .308 and 9mm, id say the best overall brand would be Igman, PPU or Belom, its cheap, effective and has never given my guns any problems.
Great target ammo comes from Eastern Europe.
I have been very happy with Czech ammo. I was nervous at first since it is a relatively small country, but never had an issue.
S&B makes great stuff.
Haven't bought factory ammo aside Barnaul 7.62x39 when I got my SGL10 converted into a AK-103. Before that I got Winchester white box 115 grain for a luger P08. Accuracy and function was fine. Majority of all my ammo comes from handloading it or surplus 8mm and old once fired LC 5.56 my grandpa burned up.
Good info, just found the channel and subbed! Btw you'd look really sharp with a tight fade on the sides. Off topic but thats my thing
Thanks bro
🇦🇺😎👍Hey Big John..Down here the main menu of freedom seeds is Remington, Winchester, Federal, ADI, Hornady….etc. we don’t seem to have any steel cased ( at least what I’ve seen ) or any other non mainstream production lines. Nowadays it’s mainly ultra premium stuff that few can afford . .223 is $1 per round and much upward , .308 is $1.50 and much upward $ 2.30 is very common…9 mm is $32/50 just for fmj….for some reason since 2021 of the scamdemic everything has gone up 60/120% and increasing … Alliant powder is $820/5LB rifle powder . Primers are 18/20 cents each…It’s seems our sport is heavily under attack from all angles and our country is a very peaceful country with low crime despite the rumours… One state has banned all bolt action rifles 284 Nosler and above ( just in case 😉🤝😉) and they are going for a 5 gun limit with a mountain of paperwork requirements to deter from the sport. 20 years ago we would have scoffed at these proposals but the noose is tightening…Just a little insight to what’s going on down here . Great video , keep up the good work 🏁🇺🇸
Hornady is made in a town about 45 minutes away from me. They used to offer tours and I'm sad I missed out on that.
@@8mmmauserman 🇦🇺😎👍How cool is that ? Firearms are celebrated in the US. Down here it’s completely different. Someone put up a billboard at Christmas promoting putting a gun under the Christmas tree in a present and weapons Licencing had to get involved due to incorrect storage practices.. Sometimes I feel embarrassed to be an Australian, unbelievable Big John🙄

I have AAC 300 BLK sub and supersonic rounds. They have functioned flawlessly over the last few hundred rounds both suppressed and un-suppressed. I would say give them a try.
A friend got some AAC recently. I'd like to make an order soon too.
What do you recommend for a Gewehr 88 delivered to Turkey and converted to modern 8mm? I don't know if it is 88/05/38 or 88/38. No idea. I only know that the Turkish ones are very spicy.
Commercial PPU ammo is usually what people recommend. It's downloaded a bit. Obviously stay away from Turkish ammo and S&B commercial stuff is pretty hot too. Other 8mm milsurp ammo might be ok on a case by case basis
PPU will be middle of the road for speed n pressure. Very good quality.
7.62 x 51 Lake City , purchased during the lockdowns had very hard primers
At first I thought my hammer spring was tired and finally I realized it was the primers were hard.
After I made some inquiries online, I was told that some LC is made for belt fed and has hard primers.
Not sure how true that is, but I had poor accuracy due to hangfires
It's true. The military does use harder primers to prevent slam fires. Military ordinance uses free floating firing pins and the violent nature of rapid cycling on the bolts on both automatic M16's and machine guns.
The same can be said for AK47's.
Winchester .22lr has always been iffy, but the center fire I’ve used over the years has seemed to work fine.
I will say, for hunting ammo federal fusion gets the nod at our camp though. With Hornady a close second by most there.
I cast and load my own.
Interesting. I've naver had any issues with ammo inc or winchester. When i was qualifying to carry for work a couple years ago the guy standing next to me was shooting aguila 9mm. Its what he was given to qual with. That ammo locked his gun up and after getting it back from the manufacturer found out the ammo bulged the barrel.
With conversations around quality control, people can have varying results and experiences. These are my experiences that have led to my conclusions. Thanks for your comment!
If you like to deer hunt with ur 8mm milsurp. Norma has dumped a ton of their norma whitetail ammo in 8x57 in the market. Very good deer hunting ammo
Noted!
From one 7.92x57 guy to an 8mm Mauser guy! Greetings! Agreed on the Turk surplus from the '30's... the stuff literally stinks. That said, it shoots just fine for old tird-word surplus in my Turk Mauser. I won't shoot the stuff in my German K98k, Russian capture or Yugos...
Yeah, agreed that I wouldn't shoot it in a very valuable rifle.
Truth. A good reminder for us all.
Ive had freedom munitions 308 that had about 1/4 of what I bought with case mouths that allowed movement of the bullets. These were labelled as "new"
WOW. Ice not heard good things about Freedom or LAX
The zqi 7.62x51 was good stuff not sure if it's still around or not
I'll have to check it out.
ZSR 9mm at least i have not had issues with, at least in a jericho and converted tt-33, its safe and reliable but it is not in any way great, i'd put it at like, tula level but brass case.
Tula level is great for cheap range days.
I was under the impression that the Winchester white box was the same ammo from Lake City that the military gets and it was just extra production capacity made the same specifications
Of course being made to military specifications doesn't mean much...
Lake city is federal unless something has changed in recent history, have some really old Lake city I haven't tried in years.
@kennardjohnson7875 My understanding is winchester took over that Lake City production a few years ago.
do you know if Freedom Munitions is re-load ammo? some of their stuff is pretty darn cheap.
Some is and labeled as reman. Some is new. Have shot both with no issues but no longer buy from them, Sellier & Bellot is my current go-to cheap ammo for 9mm. Not that I'm any expert just my experience. Reman isn't the half-off deal it used to be so I stick with new and brass cased. I did just go through 1000 rds of CCI Blazer aluminum cased 9mm and loved it.
@@MAWA2024 Just picked up some S&B 357 magnum from PSA. No issues. I was thinking of FM for 45 auto. Thanks for replaying.
They have both. I have no personal experience, but have heard a lot of stories that steer me clear.
My MarColMar Cetme L is very picky with ammo, and AAC sabre black tip 62 gr is the only round I've tried so far that has been 100% reliable with it.
I haven't noticed any issues with their 9mm either
Noted. Perhaps I'll need to buy a bunch for review
I have one of the CETME Ls as well. It is picky in that it needs high pressure ammo to operate. The roller delay system doesn't play well with lighter loads. Mine runs like a sewing machine on most any ammo specifically labeled as 5.56. Commercial spec 223 is iffy. I can run 5.56 AAC, PMC, Lake City, MEN German surplus, etc... and it runs 100% If I try 223 Marked PMC, Remington, Federal, Wolf, Tula, etc... it will have a failure to eject about one out of every four. I have a CETME C in 7.62x51 and a PTR. Both of them are also a bit picky. Preferring higher pressure rounds. The one I use the most out of the CETME L is the 5.56 marked PMC X-TAC. It's relatively cheap and plentiful. Runs without an issue.
I bought some ZSR 12 gauge and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of variety (single/double round ball slug, forester slugs, buckshot, etc.). I wouldn't touch their rifle rounds, though!
With factory reloads I definitely inspect them and sometimes batch weigh to make sure everything looks normal. Seconds are nice since they're usually in-spec, with maybe some brass dents or bullet seating varying a few thou.
The only companies that stand out are SDI (stupidly dirty 5.56, will gum up the works quickly), Winchester and Remington (declining QC), and fly by night reloaders.
I bought some factory seconds from Mead Industries (local place). Good so far, but will be reviewing down the road.
Armscorp. I’ve had issues with centerfire failures around 1 per box of 50. Rimfire 4 per box of 50. That’s trash.
I won't touch Aguila again. The crap came with some kind of goop on them. I believe it was for lubrication. Totally gummed up my LCP II 22lr pistol.
Ammo runs very dirty, but it's also been super reliable for me, though I can see why the goop would cause issues in revolvers.
LAX new manufactured ammo is really clean and decent ammo
Ive had pretty good luck with AAC 9mm 115 and 124gr. well over 1000rds of each
Good to know. Thanks!
DAMMIT TO HELL, JUST BOUGHT 500 9 mm white box, shit, should have got this swiss nato
It's fine for training ammo, i just wouldn't trust my life to it.
Sterling has a bad rep with some 9mm shooters.. Just sayin... I wonder how or IF this might be a reflection on the Turkish pistols!??!🤨
I am not a huge Winchester ammo fan myself. Maybe they will improve since they moved all their production from E. Alton, IL to Oxford, Mississipi I have to tell you this before I leave . My English major stepmother would chastise me for saying something like "Ammos" Since Ammo is already a plural word. There is no need to add a "S" to it. Sorry to have to tell you this but I hope it helps you in the future. Good video on substandard ammo to watch out for.
I'd personally put it in the category of saying "peoples" to refer to people groups. People is plural, but I'm referring to the peoples of the world. I'm not an expert though!
Cabels owns herters, and I won't use it period. Winchester is made by olin and I have never had issues but haven't had the need to buy any in some years other than 22 lr,federal is good and pmc is pretty much all I buy. Did pickup some Indian made ammo manufactured on Spanish machines and Belgian powder I have not tested, but will only buy pmc in the future. Accuracy of 55 gran Winchester I've tried is not good and will not purchase in the future, and probably will not do the same with 9mil.
PMC is awesome. It's Korean I believe
I’m using AAC 77gr otm 5.56 for my defensive load & from my experience it’s good to go. It regularly groups 1.5-2 moa for me & I’ve taken it out to 500 yards. Run about 800 rounds combined through my 10.3 & 14.5 Geissele URGI’s with no failures so far.
For pistol defensive rounds it’s 135gr Hornady Critical Duty all day every day.
I see RUclipsrs being sponsored by them but I’ve had horrible experiences with Calloway Ammunition. Their subsonic .300blk & 7.62x39 won’t cycle in any semiauto I tried them in. And several of the x39 rounds came with the bullet pushed into the case & all the powder spilled into the box. Also they didn’t ship my order for over a week with no explanation, then the day it shipped I got a text saying they were waiting on bullets to fill my order. It was very obvious they rushed loading the rounds. I will never buy from them again.
Federal HST and Federal Law Enforcement SP .223 are my defensive rounds, but Hornady makes great stuff and it's also made in the great state of Nebraska
I think that I have the same, or very similar, shirt.
I just bought so many ammo inc hollow points for 8 bucks each 😬
Sorry brother. Probably fine for range ammo as long as you watch for squibs
