Something to note about 22lr, each brand has their own wax/lube on them, and barrel usually needs 5-10 rounds to fowl it in. you don't have to clean it, just fowl it. Supersonics have to break the sound barrier coming out of the barrel, and typically don't stabilize fast enough, like a rifle round will, but traveling twice the speeds if not triple of the 22s. Rim thickness is another area where shimming the barrel to change the headspace can make some ammo shoot better, and some to shoot worse.
Always been a fan of CCI Mini mag for 22lr and Maxi mag for 22mag. Both work real good on a coyote. I've also used the maxi mag 22 mag on Javalina. Works really well.
Got the standard Savage 64F semi-auto and had no issues with ammo other than Norma TAC-22 where the shell casing swelled and jammed. Other Norma worked fine. Rem Golden bullets, Browning, Aguila, Federal Match all work fine. Thanks for the great video. Well worth it.
I have a few rifles in 22LR. Each has one brand it loves the best. They are all different, but each is accurate. I do not question it, but I have spent a lot of time trying to understand it. I cannot. My 1957 Marlin Levermatic loves Federal blue box, standard velocity. The Henry nothing fancy model loves the Rem Golden Bullets. (that gun is scoped with a Vortex 2-7, the others, just the eyeball and iron sights.) The old 1947 Iver Johnson Safety Rifle bolt action single shot likes Eley Target. I generally shoot 20 or more rounds to see which bullet the gun likes. I found that if it is going to shoot each five shot group gets tighter or is opening or random. Again, feed it whatever it shoots best. I do the same with center fire also if I don't reload for it. It will be interesting to see what you get at 50yds. That is good medicine for varmints.
For anyone who doesnt know: 22lr moves so slow that by the time you make it to 100 yards with a super sonic round it has become subsonic, the problem is that between supersonic and subsonic there is the trans sonic zone where it is transitioning and becomes very unstable. For most peoople this is no problem, even littl 32 grain stingers are not gonna lose enough speed to really be a problem, however at range you may have problems because there trans sonic zone has made them unstable, this is why 50 yards is the standard 22lr zeroing distance and why long range 22lr shooters use sub sonic bullets
From what I'm reading online .22 needs to season the barrel between ammo changes. It means you have to put 10-15 rounds of ammo downrange for each different type before they settle down... But I don't see it as flushing money down the drain if you like tight groups. Your just spending a few bucks to find the golden stuff for a given rifle.
I haven't shot much for precision yet but I like the cci 1050fps 40grain. Nearly silent supressed with dead air sandman s. Ruger precision and ruger 10-22 collectors edition. I like that 64.
I've got the older savages 64 fs. Only issue was mag related. Keep them clean and polished feed lips. And other then that. Its cheap (150) and runs.. I use cci ar 22lr ammo.
Hard to beat .22LR for entertainment. I really enjoy my Christensen Ranger. It is a mixed bag with reviews but mine has been great. I always buy the Federal Auto Match, it does well in everything I own.
Thank you. Me and no l my son have these and mine hate hollow point ammo. Taking awhile to break in the magazine. I was told he 10 round magazine feed better. As always thank you for the videos
Have to say those Wildcat from K-Mart $1.58 sure look like some I left at HM awhile back. Good to see useful. Bought in California back in the 80's too funny. Good content as usual. Let's see next.
funny, dad always talked about winchester wildcats, he said he could find them for $0.99 a box on sale when he was growing up, tho he said QC wasn't the best and youd get a dud every now and again, hes 52 or so so that aught to be a good time indicator
Me talking to the wall. During the great mysterious ammo shortage of recent years. I ordered in some 22s from somewhere online. what showed up was some Eley. it made the right noise when I puled the trigger so I was happy. The squirrels and rabbits did not complain When some m ore recognizable brand names became available I did a comparison and found the Eley had better results.
Thank you sir for revisiting 22LR ammo. I would suggest doing a minimum of 5 shot groups, that will give you a closer indication on how the round will perform. Thank you for taking the time to make the video, I know it takes a lot of work to edit to bring out a good product. Thank you for being real and down to earth. Love ya brother. 🥥🥥🎯🎯
That augila 38 gr cphp is about the best for your money ammo in my opinion. It is some hot and reliable stuff. You can tell they use a different powder tho, smells different in the air
My Tikka t1x 22lr bolt action likes 2 different Eley subsonic best so far, lots of flighers with the high speed stuff!Apparently about 5 or 10 rounds should be fired to season the barrel before checking for accuracy because of the difference in bullets coatings and lubes?
Ya the Norma eco speed seems to be consistently accurate in most rifles but the things are as damn expensive as a 223 so it's not really worth it to me..
Lol! Cicadas make the sound with their wings against the hard carapace of their exoskeleton. Couldn't do that while your holding its wings. 😉😁😂 I had to laugh at some comments when you did the poll whether to do this at 50 or 100 yards. Several people said 100 yards was too far for 22lr! Lol! You can tell who really doesn't do much actual shooting. I hope they watched this and saw you casually pump out some kickin groups. 👍👍
That Norma Eco Speed ACTUALLY looked like a shotgun with birdshot when I tested it (groups). Possibly the worst I havee ever seen. I woild imagine on varmints and pests it is pretty good
Funny how rifles react to different ammo. My Glenfield 75 won't shoot any kind of Federal, jams and poor accuracy. Doesn't like Wildcat, Thunderbolt, or Blazer either. CCI MiniMags are most consistent of what's available and affordable. The old Super X, with the wax coated lead bullet, shot real good, but that's long gone. I've never tried any real target ammo in it.
Nice. For bulk, most of those are acceptable. The std vel was great. Sub moa at 100 is all that and a bag of chips. I’ve never fed any of my 22s the high priced spread. I’m breaking that with my new CZ457 American with Arken SH4. See if it’ll outshoot my 80 year old Springfield sing shot. Open sights, but one hole at 50 yds with Remington Yello Jackets.
If you are going to take the time to put a heart on my question why not answer the question I would rather think you missed it rather than just breezing through hearting everything I would rather be ignored
WTW, I apologize this comment doesn't pertain to this video. But you hung some of the Stealth TS 20 cameras a little while back. Could I get your opinion and thoughts on them, before I order some.
To be honest I think I am looking at scope or plastic stock pressure or bend issues here .That is not normal ,My old marlin semi that is 50 years old with a good scope does better even on cheaper ammo. Sorry brother either the gun or scope is an issue
Brother idk if you have something wrong with you so I don’t mean to be rude but it was kinda hard to watch when I’m just hearing you take a breath and breathe hard every two words-to a sentence. Hope you’re good man your health matters

CCI mini mag is my go to.
I love the CCi products . I uses stingers, mini mags , and velocitors out of both of my Savage 64's Love them all.
Always been a fan of CCI Mini mag for 22lr and Maxi mag for 22mag. Both work real good on a coyote. I've also used the maxi mag 22 mag on Javalina. Works really well.

Mine loves the CCI Blazers for bulk. 100 yard bench rest on bipod, 1.316 inch 5 round groups on a warm barrel

For this reason, a 50 yard comparison makes more sense.
I have a standard Mark II Savage -- that little Mark II is the most accurate 22LR I have owned. It likes all the ammo I have used.
Just started my wkend, this is the first thing I do.

CCI target perform the best of the budget stuff that I've ran through my Bergara. I like to keep mine subsonic like others have been saying.
Nice!! Thanks for staying up all night and editing it!!
🙏🙏🙏 thanks for watching

Great job 👏 looking forward to the next one
Keep the Savage 64 videos coming. I would love to hear about the reliability as well. 40 grain round nose CCI Mini mags works great in mine.
More soon
I've got the older savages 64 fs. Only issue was mag related. Keep them clean and polished feed lips. And other then that. Its cheap (150) and runs.. I use cci ar 22lr ammo.
Aguila super extra 40 grain solid is what I used in semi autos
Hard to beat .22LR for entertainment. I really enjoy my Christensen Ranger. It is a mixed bag with reviews but mine has been great. I always buy the Federal Auto Match, it does well in everything I own.
cci standard is sub sonics, used them for competition all the time for like nrl22 and prs rimfire because they are subsonic and are very afforable
Thank you. Me and no l my son have these and mine hate hollow point ammo. Taking awhile to break in the magazine. I was told he 10 round magazine feed better. As always thank you for the videos
Thanks for watching
Your magazine not feeding correctly either?
Been shooting golden bullets for about long time work good for me.
Have to say those Wildcat from K-Mart $1.58 sure look like some I left at HM awhile back. Good to see useful. Bought in California back in the 80's too funny. Good content as usual. Let's see next.

All of em are not too shabby at 100 yrds. Fun video thnx WTW
My 64 precision shoots really good with the cci standard velocity. Seems like it doesn't matter about the lot with mi e it just shoots good with it.
I have a bias for Winchester white box, Super X and Aguila super extra for my Savage Mk II.
that thing does pretty good with cheap ammo at 100! can't wait to see the groups at 50 with that SK!!! cheers man.
My savage loves CCI Stingers
Me talking to the wall. During the great mysterious ammo shortage of recent years. Im all CCI blazer and CCI mini mag LR or HP and for some punch CCI stinger
I'm guessing the first couple of shots may be "off" a little with that clean barrel. Looking forward to this. Thanks.
Adam, seems like that 22 will like the sub sonics better.
Hope your thumb is getting better 👍🏻 😀
Heck yeah another great video… Let’s see a comparison with the savage and the 22 lr you built and see which groups better..
Nice looking rifle. I hadn’t heard of it before

A bit "Spicier 😂
Look forward to the subsonic testing mate 👍
Coming soon!

Another Great One Adam 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Nice comparison of the ammo 👍 Adam. Thanks for the Video 👌. Cheers 🙏🇨🇦
Good test Hero.
Thanks for watching
Great to see some .22lr videos. Thanks 👍👍👍👍
A nice rifle. I shoot a lot of the CCI-SV. It is a nice ammo. My favorite is the SK ammo.
Seems to shoot pretty good
I love watching your videos! Alway fun and new stuff to add to my collection 🤜🤛
Thanks for watching!
Happy birthday, Adam, from the Deerhearse Channel! -Jeff
Not my birthday but I'll take it
Saw a short from Heavy Metal (your buddy) that gave me the impression that it was, lol...sorry bud!
Hope the thumb is feeling better!
You outta get you a outdoor canopy to put up over the shooting bench. Then you could shoot in the shade.
That would be nice
THIS, was a very fun video. ❤ya Who Tee
Thanks for watching
Love the rifle.
Great vid. Thanks.
Thanks for watching
Ya the Norma eco speed seems to be consistently accurate in most rifles but the things are as damn expensive as a 223 so it's not really worth it to me..
That's the problem with a lot of non match .22lr. You get three or four almost touching and then a flyer ruins the group.
Not bad for a auto 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one matey xden
Had good luck with CCI
Thanks again for the info 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏 and your the best 👍👍👍
Eley Benchrest Outlaw shoots tiny little groups out my 64 precision.
Great video
Thanks for the visit
Love it! 😀
Love it!

nice 22 gun man

What's the weight on the cicada?
I'm wondering what was the speed of those cci subs?
Nice. For bulk, most of those are acceptable. The std vel was great. Sub moa at 100 is all that and a bag of chips. I’ve never fed any of my 22s the high priced spread. My gun really likes the ely club.
Could you chronograph the velocities?
What did the CCI standard vel. Shoot as in how fast is advertised
If you are going to take the time to put a heart on my question why not answer the question I would rather think you missed it rather than just breezing through hearting everything I would rather be ignored
No federal auto match?
Nope
Nice
Does that gun have a threaded barrel for a Silencer? If so I want to get that gun???...??
Yes it does
WTW, I apologize this comment doesn't pertain to this video. But you hung some of the Stealth TS 20 cameras a little while back. Could I get your opinion and thoughts on them, before I order some.
Simple and easy to use. Haven't had any problems out of them
I am betting on Norma
Does that mag work with a normal Savage 64??
Not sure
@WHOTEEWHO is it pretty much the same rifle but a different stock?
👍WTW. Keep Plinking. Thanks
Not surprised by the red rattlers. Definitely not designed to be precise.
I love these.. Shoes never know barrel, brand and performance.. Thanks!
Did you say k mr
Wait did you say KMART?
Yup
I may get a 22lr ...eventually, lol
❤❤❤
Test Cci stingers 100y
Cci green tag
🎯
👍👍
👍👍
🚀⛽
CCI 1st next norma
👍🏾
Adam does the action have an ajustment for tention? My semi auto will not cycle the subs. not enough back preasure. So im curious.
Hmm. Not sure
I’m getting Electric Company vibes as he counted down the 123456789101112
Want
Federal punch is designed for handguns so I'd figure it wouldn't be the greatest out of a long barrel rifle.
To be honest I think I am looking at scope or plastic stock pressure or bend issues here .That is not normal ,My old marlin semi that is 50 years old with a good scope does better even on cheaper ammo. Sorry brother either the gun or scope is an issue
Nah. It is the ammo. Stay tuned foe the subsonic video
Try them at 50 yd
Brother idk if you have something wrong with you so I don’t mean to be rude but it was kinda hard to watch when I’m just hearing you take a breath and breathe hard every two words-to a sentence. Hope you’re good man your health matters
😘💕👍👍
Found an old box, mid 2000’s. Federal 22lr lightings. Federal meant it, when they put “lighting” on the box.
