I've assigned single press of C1 to ESC beep, and double press of C1 to Turtle Mode.

If one or two of the props get stuck in some taller grass or twigs you could burn out an esc if you keep on pushing the turtle mode. 80% of the time I would do that walk of shame. 😆
Me too. In grass I only try turtle mode if it’s very hard to reach

Tip: also buy duct guards. Helps to optimal protect the Avata. When using the duct guards its almost impossible to permanently crash the Avata.

Cable tie around the rear of the battery, got to cut it to get battery out, real pain but better than loosing the aircraft with battery detached in a crash, no power turtle mode is so much hype
Hi Aldryn, I enjoy all your drone videos. Just FYI that my brand-new Avata drone also had a battery installation error. The other two batteries I received with the fly more package work just fine. Already wrote to DJI and it will be repaired I guess. Hope there is no chronic problem regarding the batteries. Really disappointed with the drone while I had no problems with my two other DJI drones.
I definitely need the kind of durability the DJI Avata has if I’m going to fly this fpv drone. This + its safety features makes me feel more confident to fly it.
Turtle 🐢 mode is nice to have. I've seen a video of Captain Drone where the Avata fell on tall grass and it actually flipped and flew out.

I can see taking back off from a solid surface, but what happens with grass, and worse twigs, in the prop ducts. Will it still crank up and take off?

Wow! At least turtle mode is with their first model and there’s “hope” in recovering after a crash, today.
Great video. However, you should then try to fly again after using turtle mode. I had my first experience using TM yesterday. The flip was perfect, but I couldn't take off because the grass in the park was too thick and/or long. Nothing DJI can do about it, but people should know a TM flip doesn't necessarily mean you won't have to walk to your drone to retrieve it.
This. Flipping over is useless if it can't take off after.
Aldryn, do you have a case for the Avata that you recommend? (just the Avata since I am doing separate cases and not a hard case) easier to throw in my backpack.
I Might have to get this one. Also, I Have an old Mavic pro alpine white. My camera doesn't work very well and needs replacing. Do you know of a repair shop that can replace it.Thank you.

Hoping you can answer a question. Do you have any issues with the Avata drifting while hovering indoors? I fired up my new Avata inside yesterday. I have the standard motion controller that came with the kit. After starting and hovering, with no finger on the throttle, it started drifting sideways into me. It responded to turning left and right with the motion controller, but did not keep a consistent altitude and did the drifting. It did show it was locked on 10 satellites. Is this to just be expected indoors? I’ve never flown my Mini, Mini 2 or P4P indoors so maybe this is the norm. I’d try outside but it’s currently 0F for the next few days. Thank you.
Hi Aldryn! I paired my Avata with the Remote Controller (from the original DJI fpv) without any problem, I can fly with it. But when I go into the goggles 2 menu, I can't select "Remote Controller", it's grey. So I'm unable to activate the manual mode! Do you know any fix for that? Thank you

Two questions what is the wire for connected to the googles. Also is it possible to fly with the google with no lines inside.
So, is there really no way to change the low batt RTH settings? Mine has been crashed because a friend was flying it (very cautiously) when the low batt rth kicked in while he was under a tree, and he couldn’t bypass it quickly enough and it automatically flew straight up into the branches and crashed. I still haven’t got all the salad cleaned out of all the nooks and crannies
Why did you not take off after flipping, is that not the point of turtle mode?
I have yet to see a totally destroyed avata. I can’t believe it’s durability.
With horizon lock on it looks like you were flying a regular drone , didn’t give FPV vibes at all

Looks like AVATA has tile sensor inside to decide which two props to use to flip it.

Can't believe you didn't try to get it turned fully after the turtle flick upright and you went and picked it up then cut to a different scene...WHY? That made no sense. Only reason someone would do that is to avoid bad press? Sketchy. Have to give a downvote for that.
