Nice pile. I really enjoyed JLI too. Bought it in singles in the 80s. Was a breath of fresh air and genuinely funny in places. Had a big month - X-23, Weapon X the Return, Nyx hardcover, Superior Spider-Man, Secret Warriors (mine arrived in July), 3x Chuck Dixon Birds of Prey TPBs, Righteous Thirst, Human Target, 8 Billion Genies, Black Cat Omni, Avengers Omni 1&2, incorruptible, Spiderman Gallery, Jon Sable Omni and a copy of Master of Kung fu Omni Vol 1, long searched for. Got some reading to do.
Man oh man you aren’t kidding!
That reminds me I have to get the NYC hardcover now also so I can eventually have all of X23.
And yeah don’t we all have a ton of reading to do? It’s like the pile and TBR list never ever gets smaller haha
So looking forward to a Coda review. I actually just read those volumes of JLI. I thought they were a breath of fresh air--super fun and hilarious. It was a perfect palate cleanser after the awesome (but complex) Hickman Avengers.
Ima also excited to dive in and finish Coda. I get so excited about the smaller name books because it’s stuff I haven’t read which is great!
I agree! JLI is such a great title and a great break from typical capes and cowl stuff! It feels so much like a slice of life/drama with comedy rather then a superhero book.
Great Vid and haul! I would recommend 8 Billion Genies by Charles Soule and Ryan Brown.....really great story in a deluxe hardcover.

Nice pick ups 🔥 I’m finishing vol 4 spawn deluxe edition. So good , love horror and detective movies/shows . Forgot how much spawn has that . Next is either marvel zombies or Batman / turtles .
I need to pick up my spawn origins editions! I’ve been itching to reread those books but the deluxes are just too much boom for me haha
Spawn really is great and genre bending!

Absolute preacher vol 1 and Absolute Watchmen.
I've got and read that Coda deluxe and really enjoyed it. It's not my favourite by Spurrier though that would be his 2 Hellblazer trades and his 4 Crossed wish you were here trades which are incredible reads.
Still yet to buy any deadly class but I will as I've heard nothing but amazing reviews.
New X men Omni I bought and read a few weeks ago. Love Morrisons writing as he always improves with re-reads.

Nightwing by Tom Taylor has been my favorite overall read this whole year its so good, and im temped to pick up JLI Vol 1 simply for the one punch moment heard the run is kinda bad but that moment alone is kinda worth getting it lol. Also just yesterday I caved and got Batman & TMNT after I originally wasn't going to but some reviews showing off the amazing art was just so tempting that I had to get it
JLI isn't bad, never heard anyone describe it that way, it's very light hearted, humourous read. Perfect for when you're tired of over serious or grim and gritty stories.

I disagree about JLI being bad or people saying it’s bad. It is very VERY far from the typical DC book but the story telling is good and the arts top notch, McGuire specifically is a master of emotions.
Im sorry you caved in Batman/TMNT but I’m hearing a lot of people are so don’t feel toooo bad. That’s a cross over book that alot of people are worried won’t get reprinted so they are getting it just in case so it may pay off in the end.
