Marvel Graphic Novels (and Marvel Fanfare) were a great idea, but frequently were issued with work by lacklustre creators. Big fan of Jon J. Muth’s version of Dracula, and Miller and Sienkiewicz’s painted Daredevil graphic novel. The potential was huge.
I love those Marvel Graphic Novels! I used to find them when I was a kid at Half Price Books and I thought they were so cool because the stories were more "adult" than the regular comic books. I think they're all underrated honestly. So many great stories with top creators!
The initial Punisher miniseries has been sought-after for a long time, almost since the series first came out; the Mike Zeck covers sure help. All those Marvel 1970s and early 80s titles like Fantasy Masterpieces, Marvel Tales and Marvel Double-Feature have gained value in their own right because the value of the originals they reprint has grown so much and pulled these up with them. Frank Brunner's art in the early issues of the 1970s Doctor Strange is stunning, as is the Dan Adkins art in some of the 1968/69 issues of the title.
You definitely end it with a bang. I must say that I’m not sure I would sign that giant size X-Men book. Something like that deserves to be graded on it on right without the signature.
Literally just got back from a dollar bin hunt northwest of Chicago and landed Silver Surfer 81/82 for a buck each. I am going to set up a time to raid the rest of his stored dollar comics, which is another 30 long boxes. Also got a transformers 1 and 8, low grade as well as a bunch of dope ultra indie stuff I'd never seen before... Great day digging!
great books, hey man i really love your content the books, the backstories the knowledge your personal stories with them, i watch alot of other videos not to knock anyone they're all good but i enjoy your content the most
I think you nailed it about the Punisher books. The market is so saturated with so many different Punisher variations that print run and specific issues are the way to go. I believe DD 183 is the 1st appearance between DD and Punisher. I didn't know about the green lantern crossover in Dr. Strange. That's awesome. Love the Marvel Graphic Novels, and I think many people sleep on them. They are damn hard to clean and press. Yeah buddy on the GSX1!
Hey James, I was just wondering, how do you send books to artist signings? Is there a specific website that notifies you? Big fan of the channel and keep up the good work!!!
A couple months ago I picked up a Sorcerer Supreme 50 that was missing the holographix for $5 on eBay. Its in pretty good condition but I'm debating if I should submit it raw or try to get it cleaned and pressed before grading.
Hi James, I was trying to take your advice on selling comics from dollar bins, and I bought a few comics from 50 cent bins and I was hoping you could tell me if they are good or not? It was all modern dc, which I know nothing about. I bought the adventures of Superman (the reign of the Supermen) 501 with the Superman emblem on the cover and the one with superboy on the cover. I also got Faces of Evil Prometheus 1, Uncle sam, and the Freedom Fighters 1, and Secret six 1. I got them for 50 cents each, so did I do good?
Don’t just buy randomly from bins… the average comic book is worth 5-10 cents. That was not my advice, my advice was to hunt for small KEYS, issue number 1s, and smaller but noteworthy books valued between $5-10 in dollar bins. Use key collector and other apps to show you the notoriety of books
I never understood how issue #2 of Punisher mini series says 1of 5, and then they revert back to 1 of 4's with issue 3 and 4. Then issue 5 comes out........
As always some great books, that Dr strange run should have an award for constantly great cover art,so many beautiful covers

The 70s Doc Strange Frank Brunner covers are beyond gorgeous. #4 … wow. Very affordable run for what you get.

Punisher has six fingers on that Punisher #1 cover which is pretty amazing.
This is another awesome pick up. That guy you’re buying these from was sitting on a lot of gold!

That cover is goofy…If by goofy you mean fucking badass!!
15:00. Good stuff.
No disrespect to Roy Thomas but his sig sucks. So does Klaus Janson.

That doctor fate statue is sick
I'm hoping I'll be able to get a Roy Thomas' signature before it's too late.
Very high quality books you picked up. Right on 👍😊👍
I think the Silver Surfer 1 shot came out in 1982
That giant xmen #1 is a huge win. It's one of my 3 personal grails next to hulk 181 and xmen #1. Some day that will be mine!
Dude sounds like a senior citizen 😆
Love me some Punisher books
You have answered my silver surfer prayers
Get rid of that GSX1 for a Showcase22
This is great info. Thanks!
That’s an awesome haul and then that giant size xmen 1, holy crap 👌🏻😳

@MintHunterComics so does that mean none of them were any good?
@MintHunterComics I went on the eBay sold listing for those comics, and they were $2-$4 comics.

It's a neat mistake.
You've been picking up a lot of 🔥 lately dude!
All to feed those Sunday claim sales!
What did you pay for that Giant size X men?
I literally just completed my Punisher Countdown run 💯 Now I’m gunning for the Punisher/War Machine issues 💀💯

As a Christian and comic book collector I stay away from Dr. Strange
What's wrong with Dr Strange?
Interesting - why is that?
I feel like magic is wrong like it's witchcraft.
Magic !! Jesus walks on water, changes water to wine, then resurrects from the dead..and you have a problem with an imaginary comicbook character 😂
@@unkle_Enkil that wasn't magic that's the power of GOD through JESUS CHRIST
😅
