how about the "unofficial" port of Contra 3 for the NES it was like a NES prototype version or something (or maybe it was just some guys masochistic desire to create a NES port of Contra 3 Alien Wars for the NES)

  • @wd7666
    @wd7666 Месяц назад +4

    Yeah. They were heck hard.
I had some hard games for NES. I played them when I was young. Some of them I couldn’t beat.
    - Kid Icarus
(maybe finished the game via normal? I remembered using the Code Cheat from the Nintendo Power book and I was confused and wondered about all items in the inventory, skipped to the final stage and the final boss. I got an alternative ending. I was in disbelief.)
    - Super Mario Bros 2
(I was cold and nervous, and lost against the last one, aggressive Mouse with bombs a few times, and finally lost against Wart. Not wanted to play it again. Too hard and too long.)
    - Battletoads
(Riding on the grounds and ramps was wild and hard. I made it through many tries. After tires, I finally reached the dark tower before the final boss, Queen. But I lost it because it’s my first time and unfamiliar on the way to up to the tower. Stopped playing it.)
    - Robocop
(Heck hard. After many times I tried to be survived and got through the stages. I beat the red, aggressive final boss. After the credit ended, I started the game to see if I got any special or something. But nope. I completed it and quitted.)
    - DEJA VU
(Almost survived but screwed up. Either I got arrested at the police station for hitting a lady with a gun pointing at me. Or a man shot me after we faced a few times. Maybe a little more and a few clues, I might have completed the game. But it’s okay.)
    - Ninja Gaiden
    (I beat it.)
    - Double Dragon
(I beat it via easy and normal. Easy wouldn’t get you to finish the game.)
    - Double Dragon 2
(The same thing above. I beat it via normal.)
    - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
( it’s awful and annoying when you tried to find the right ways to reach Shredder. I beat it but the end was weird yet happy and peace. lol)
    - Metal Storm
(It could be hard but you could possibly beat it.
It’s cool. You fought upside down on the ceiling too. I beat it.)
    - Bart vs The World
(Maybe it’s one of my favorites as a teen? I liked mini games. I beat it a few times.)
    - RC Pro AM
( the control was not easy. I beat it a few times. As an adult, I tried it on the Xbox via the Rare collection. It’s awful and hard!)
    - Twin Bee
(I beat it. I disliked it.)
    - Punch Out! with Mike Tyson (Mike Tyson on the game cover.
(It’s enjoyable. It may be hard but it beat it.)

    • @saneiac

I'm really surprised that the "heaven" trick for Chubby Cherub was covered. The game itself was of course never a huge hit and it's always felt to me that the only people who even knew about that bonus level were the ones who for whatever reason stuck with the game and seriously tried to beat it. What I REALLY wasn't expecting was to learn that there was a "hell" counterpart, which I literally didn't know until a minute ago. Incidentally, the "heaven" bonus level has a bug with its music, where one of the voices misses a note and consequently loops earlier than the other voice, causing the two voices to steadily grow more and more out of sync. Truly a high-effort, quality game.

Also here's a fun fact about The Untouchables: You move substantially faster on stage 3 (rolling on ground stage) in the Famicom version, which just makes the game so much less frustrating because heck stage 3. Faxanadu and Rygar are the hardest games I remember, though I enjoyed playing both. The hardest was Rygar, mainly because it is a long challenge without a way to save your game. I would keep my game up on pause and come back to it later, praying to God the power didn't flicker. I beat it once as a kid after a week of grinding during the summer. Luckily I had my own TV in my room. It sucked to not be able to play other games whilest paused. I beat it a second time using an emulator while I was in college. You could create a save state...

Amagon was a bit difficult. Beatable, but sometimes frustrating.
    Double Dragon 3.....brutal.
I remember not getting very far in Trojan too.

I remember renting Dragon's Lair as a kid. I think I spent an hour or two just trying to get into the bloody castle. Finally gave up and never played it again.

im only commenting on this because you included the "every letter" clause at the beginning of the video, but i never see King's Knight on these lists and that game always kicked my ass. especially when you get further in each stage and it starts walling you off. ive never even made it to the final stage let alone remember beating even a single one of them. yeah i know this is completely unrelated to anything in the video aside from obscure difficult NES games but im throwing it out there just to see if anyone else agrees.

it was definitely a fierce battle between Kings Knight and Kid Kool for the K spot!

Seeing the thumbnail, I'm surprised Bio Miracle wasn't in here. That can be rather rough in some spots.

The E spot still works if you spell it as "Eight Eyes".😁

i remember playing dino riki and yeah, one of the most frustrating games ever. .and my younger sibling kept begging me to play so they could watch me play it so i had to keep playing it for their entertainment even though i hated it. .
another ridichard game that starts with "A" is Abadox. You should check that one out.

I remember Dragon's Lair. I was like 7, bought it from a thrift store, and spent like 30 minutes trying to play the first level. Got 25 cents for trade value at a pawn shop a week later 😂

Zanac is one of my favorites but really damn hard. Glad that there's a couple of teleport items that can be obtained to skip some stages
