Not only were there a lot of great new manga hitting the shelves, but I had a lot of luck at used book stores and on eBay which lead to amazing deals on some out of print books! Come along as I look through everything I picked up in the month of May!

I had no idea Oldboy was that rare, I have had the entire series in my read pile for two years!
Half Price books is hit and miss. But when you hit you hit good.
I know you stay around Houston, I do as well. In 2019 I found volumes 1-26 of the Tokyopop Initial D print, at the 1960 location. It's closed now. And just this past weekend, I went to Galveston with some buddies, stopped by the one in Webster on the way home. Found the whole series of Ruroni Kenshin. Good stuff!
Amazing luck on some of those OOP titles! I was going to say if you wanted more bilingual volumes to go with Leo, the first three books of Chihayafuru have been published in that format, but then you went and pulled out that 20 volume haul lmao (english volumes someday, please kodansha I am begging you)
Very cool to see Petshop of Horrors in there, I collected that as a teen as it was releasing so it's a super nostalgic series for me. I hope you enjoy it! My pipe dream is that someone picks the license back up and finishes the sequel series, and I believe there's a third one as well? That would be very cool, even if it's extremely unlikely

Genuinely excited for you to get into Mysterious Girlfriend X. It’s my all time favorite anime for its unique premise and genuine bond and feelings the characters make hits home

I have a recommendation for you for a title that I think is really underrated with a heart wrenching story and some really dark themes. It’s called A Home Far Away. The art in it is also amazing. I’m guessing most people are skipping out on it since it’s from Kuma and labeled a BL. But I really wish it would get the recognition it deserves.

Crying Freeman is one of my all time favourites, it’s not particularly the best series but it’s so damn fun, it’s a good read for anyone who is a fan of 80’s action films
watched the OVAs and it was the biggest pile of shit I have ever seen, is the manga that much better?
Old boy is something that I need to get. I might just get the English Malaysia version of it since I doubt Dark Horse will ever reprint it again.

What they told you about Tower of God is 100% correct in my opinion. The first part/season of the story which is the first 8 volumes, its pretty good, but part/season 2 is where it gets fantastic in my opinion. So much happens, so many great character moments, lore pieces, fights, you will love it I'm sure. ToG has a world that I'd say is bigger than One Piece's world

@@omnibuscollector Fair enough I guess! Personally I enjoyed the whole first season of it even if the art wasn't the prettiest just for the story and characters, especially since it felt very similar to Hunter x Hunter which I enjoyed. It's probably somewhat similar in overall scope as well, except not on eternal hiatus lmao. You can always look up 'Tower of God art comparisons' if the art is what is bothering you, not much helping if you dislike the story itself though haha. If you're not enjoying it, no reason to force yourself to read it!
i have the chihayafuru volumes as well! Lets hope we get english volumes in the future and that they retain the spines 🤞

Hi. Do you or someone knows if would “EDEN- It’s a endless world” get reprinted in english? I was in Barcelona and they have this new reprint a bit larger size… it was beautiful but unfortunately I can’t reed spanish. Ty
bit late to the video but i scored a really good deal on old boy years ago now probably back in 2017 - 18 all 8 volumes for $50aud so like $35usd, such a good series, when you finish reading something and wish it was more volumes thats how you know its a good read, and when youve re - read it 2 or 3 times, so good, alot of people say the anime is better but defnitely not in my opinion.

I had all of Lady Slow Blood and Oldboy 3 years ago but sold both off (along w/ other stuff)cause I needed the funds. They’re cool. Nothing outstanding though. Their movie adaptations are better.
Enjoy your Koike rabbithole plunge! LW&C and Samurai Executioner are top tier seinen. Path of the Assassin is a bit weaker by comparison, but still worth your time. Crying Freeman is wild and ridiculous from start to finish! Try and find Lady Snowblood if you can as well!

This month I finally finished collecting/fully caught up with all my longer 20+ backlog physical volumes, so I'm ready to add some new series to my shopping list! There are so many good ones on my wishlist to choose from that I've held off, but I definitely need to narrow down/prioritize titles before I start spending haha
Also oh snap I need to grab Vanitas Vol 9, it's been a while since 8 so I forget it was coming out.

I saw Old Boy at my Half priced books nearby and they looked like they were in decent condition. I also saw like 80% of Golden Kamuy there too. I just don’t have the money for it right now. Ugh

Quick question. Is it possible for manga to yellow if it’s still in its original factory seal? I bought a couple rare volumes recently and a couple are slightly yellowed but still “new sealed” just want to make sure it’s legit. Thank you
