There was an InuYasha boxset that came with the first two manga volumes and the first volume of the anime on DVD that you missed. I can't find it online but I owned it as a kid so I know it exists.
I may have seen it, but didn’t put it in the vid. This isn’t supposed to capture every manga box set list or else it would’ve been MUCH longer. Sounds like a cool set, tho!

For clarification, while there is a Bakemonogatari manga that recently concluded, the box sets of the Monogatari series discussed in this video actually contain the light novels that said manga series is adapted from.
I wish more series were given the box set treatment, if only so it would easier to pick up an entire series and have them as display pieces. My dream sets would be Yu Yu Hakusho and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders, but given the latter is now out of print in paperback form, that dream set sail years ago.

How is Bakuman not worth it 💀 i got my box for 80€, for 20 volumes of a GOATED series i would say Thats very worth it

Anyone else annoyed with how AoT has done their box sets? I’d rather just have 1 big set with all of the volumes instead these thousands of “mini box sets”.

Were you able to find any information on any other earlier Dragon Ball box sets? I recall seeing ads in early DB and DBZ prints for mail away slip covers. I thought it covered the whole run. However, I can’t find copies of the ads or photos
I think so! If I’m thinking of the right ones, there were two box sets for DB and three for DBZ. I mentioned the first DB one early on in the video, but I didn’t mention the other ones since they didn’t really catch my eye. Since it’s a broad topic, I was lucky to find some people who have put in good research and have collected it all into one place. Most of the video was made with that database.

internet man, i just absolutely have to say that tokyo ghoul re is the greatest piece of fiction i’ve ever laid eyes upon and the pandora hearts box set is the bestest set ever. and the zelda box set sux because mine doesn’t play a sound effect. bad video. liked and subscribed.
I’m so glad you love those sets. They’re both solid sets that big fans probably really enjoy. I give them a hard time, but I bet hardcore fans love them and that’s what matters.
@@ShrugPod I’m just messing around, the video was great and as an honest to god tokyo ghoul re fan I can say that we definitely do enjoy the set. Pandora Hearts was so good looking I bought it despite having hardly ever heard of the series before so I hope I enjoy it! If not i’ll just have a really sexy box of trash lying around in my room
I think with One Piece ending in the next 2-4 years, they're definitely giing to capitalize and either reprint or do new edition boxsets
Box sets to me are kinda meh. Having the original volumes that came out one at a time, whether per bimonthly or once every year, the real readers and collectors bought them when they came out, as they came out. The box sets are like 2nd printings in US comic books. Great for reading but not really collectible.
The printings may be different, and while I do love getting a series a volume at a time, I really do enjoy getting bonus content and its also just a better deal financially.
@@ShrugPod They have to add some bells and whistles to it of course. As to best deals financially, that may be so for you and the majority of people out there, not for me though since I'm coming from the dealer's side and I buy a lot so I get automatic discounts and manual discounts at all the main places I shop. But, once you collect manga for maybe 10-15 years (for me, over 40 years), those manga you bought as they came out and you followed for years, those become extremely special...like bury those with me after I die special.
the box sets are more for people that want the physical editions in one go. because Hunting down single volumes sometimes is quite hard.
@@ghoulchan7525 Oh I know what they are for. I believe the people who sell OG volumes that are part of the human story where you visit the manga shop and pick up each volume in order to buy a shiny new box set or whatever is just extremely superficial.
For people who missed that time and are new, getting all of the volumes at once is nice. But looking at the slipcase or the free items, those things are super-low value to me. The most important part of manga is contained between the covers.
Can’t tell if you’re trolling or have a questionable taste stanning anything AoT while trashing DN.
