Parasyte is such a great series. After reading Tokyo Ghoul, my horror manga itch wasn't scratched. Let me tell you, I read this whole series in three days. I enjoyed the character development, the story, the mystery of some of these character's motivations, etc. I have the Kodansha Comics reprint. The anime is a banger, as well. Its style was updated for modern times, which is fine and makes it more relatable to a modern audience. The pace of the anime is good. It doesn't feel rushed, scenes breath when they need to and the voice acting (both Japanese and American) is top notch. Some scenes from the anime are changed from the manga, but nothing major. There are sequel manga called Neo Parasyte f and Neo Parasyte m. These are more like side stories written by several mangaka and do reference the main series every once in a while. If you are a fan, these would be nice additions to own and read; however, they aren't vital to knowing the story of the main manga.
I’m glad I waited till the full color editions. The quality is surprisingly good, one of the best smaller hardcover manga out there! Especially since it’s Kodansha with their ass quality 😂 The anime is also really good
Volume 2 is in the post now. I love this form factor hard back series. They go well next to my Soul Eater and Fist of the North Star. It being in colour is a bonus.
I already have all of the black and white paperbacks (the same edition that you have), but I'm so tempted to get these. I actually haven't read the series yet, but I did watch most of the anime when it aired on Toonami. I'm still undecided if I need to get these editions, because I'm pretty used to lack of color when I read manga.
Have the black and white ed's you showed here up to vol 5,read the 1st 3. I ordered the 1st two color hardbacks and love them. Going to get all 8 color.

The Follow Up to Parasyte is a bunch of disconnected shorts that don't star anyone from the main story. It's random things that happen in that world. It was a pass for me but others might like it.
As much as I like the original black and white scheme, the full color edition is more terrifying in my opinion because we can see the color of blood and stuff
I’ve been buying these because it’s such a great manga Ana anime and full color almost never happens and if it does almost never fill series so I totally jumped on these 2 volumes and it’s totally worth it. I’m waiting to buy new shelves for my omnibus and hardcovers. I’ve recently gotten into collecting manga and I’ve been buying it more than American comics lately. Reading one piece right now and either mojos next or Tokyo ghoul. Also just completely my tmnt deluxe hardcovers and reading that. Might buy 14 and vol 15 but heard writings took a nose dive so may stick with the 13 deluxe only. I have all berserk deluxe blade of immortal, and hellsing, and full metal alchemist I haven’t read, and several more mang sets. I have probably read less than 50 percent of my collection. I need to stop buying and catch up built buying is half the fun. I want to get Naruto box sets next, and start buying Jojo part 4-5 manga. All my Omnis are up to date. Just buying the remaining omnis I need as they come out. Waiting to get new windows put in in a month or 2 and then buying another billy shelf. Dreading moving everything

I think I prefer this story in the original black and white. But, to each their own! These are really awesome releases!
