Regarding the forward with the 'work of fiction' disclaimer, from what I recall, native Icelanders took their family sagas very seriously. Wouldn't want to insult anyone (or inadvertently start a blood feud!) with a simple work of fiction....I think I prefer pure black-and-white to black-and-white-and-one-color, but I would probably enjoy a good viking saga. It's at least on my radar...
