    • @Klonoahedgehog
      @Klonoahedgehog Год назад +2

@@Android_17_ It's way better, for one it has a rotating cast like the games, it doesn't just follow one singular protagonist like Jojo or Yugioh where once one region has been covered they move on to the characters and setting from the next game.
Like the first generation has Red and then the second arc follows an original story starring a character named Yellow, then Gen 2 where Ethan, named Gold since this was before he had an official name was the protag.
Gen 3 has split protagonist duties between Brendan and May, one following the gym challenge and the other following contests, named Ruby and Sapphire because at this point they decided to stick to the game titles instead of using their official names for some reason.
Gen 4 has Dawn as the protagonist and i like the version of her in this manga more than the anime version, she's a rich kid who's seeing the world outside her family estate for the first time on her pokemon journey and it's really charming seeing her interact with the others in her group (Lucas and Barry.) And its a funny misunderstanding because she assumes that they are bodyguards hired by her dad to protect her while she travels Sinnoh while they assume she was hired to be a tour guide traveling with them across Sinnoh as part of some contest. All the actual bodyguards spend like half the story of some misadventures trying to find Dawn.
And from there i haven't read beyond it, i havent read Gen 5 yet but ive seen bits and pieces ahead and it seems neat.

Out of all the ones in his collection the one I'd probably be most excited for Mark to cover would probably be Pokémon Adventures, since it's a spin-off of Pokémon that doesn't nearly get enough attention despite running nearly as long. I also hope that if he does review it he goes over more than the first couple of arcs, since in the rare times it is mentioned, it is almost only the Kanto stuff.
    ...
And although it's not a manga currently featured in his collection I'd really like to see Mark one day look at Black Clover.
A new-gen Shonen manga that while initially receiving a negative reception, has overtime won more and more people over, to the point that its anime was the No.1 most frequently watched on Crunchyroll (in terms of overall around the world). In essence it's probably the Shonen manga equivalent of a Shonen story funnily enough.
Aside from seeing him talk about this story and giving it more spotlight (since despite its successes it has been heavily dwarfed by similar Shonen Jump manga such as My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer), I also think Mark's experience reviewing manga (especially Shonen Jump), would provide insight into what many consider one of Black Clover's issues - it's "unoriginality".
Considering that Mark has reviewed many series that people say Black Clover "rips off" such as: Dragon Ball, Naruto, Bleach, and Berserk. I think his opinions on the series in this regard on whether it is building off of, or simply recycling familiar assets would be interesting to hear about.
Of course, the story isn't finished yet (although it is in its final arc), so he wouldn't be able to review it right now. And considering many other series seem much more popular or at least outspoken than this one, it seems unlikely he'll cover it at all. But I figure I might as well shoot my shot since I doubt there'll be a better time to do so.

    4. Jujutsu Kaisen
    5. Chainsaw Man
    6. My Hero Academia

I prefer your much more in-depth reviews, and I think it would be pretty difficult for you to go in-depth into either story. They are among my favorites, but I'm not dying to see a review about them. Monster and Fullmetal on the other hand I am dying for. Demon Slayer is also really good, but I think just about everyone agrees that the anime is better, so if you did do a review on it I think you would have to review the anime alongside it and compare it to the manga, which I think would be pretty interesting!

I dig your collection of mangas. One that I would personally advise getting into would be D. Gray-Man. I advise it to anyone who has seen or read Demon Slayer. DGM was originally published years before and is still ongoing. I have personally not finished the series to this point as of yet but the art style is very cool and I love the plot lines of demon hunting and the unique weapons each exorcist holds and the abilities they hold. I feel like the anime has a bit too much filler but the gritty atmosphere is just fascinating in my opinion.

One Punch Man seems like an excellent series for a review. The characters and ideas that the series develops are on another level and I think that your review style would work wonderfully with it. I really love the way you focus on characters and particular emotions that a series brings to the table and One Punch Man is so full of material that makes you feel and think that it would make an amazing series for you to review in my opinion. And there was a third season anounced recently for the anime so a review probably would do well in the channel. Hi from Portugal!

Pokemon adventures would be sooo interesting to see covered, it's pretty surprising how in depth it can go. There's currently 15 arcs of varying lengths (1 for each main game, it looks like you have up to halfway through FRLG right now) but they all offer something different in each one with the protagonists goals and personalities being unique from each one before them. It's always cool to see exactly how the author adds his own spin on things since it's much more character driven, especially since he really settles into the continuous storytelling after the first few arcs.
Battle wise the action is very much about making use of Pokémon's unique biology from the pokedex and interactions with the environment to use as a strategy alongside the trainer's own physical participation. Which makes things much more engaging for a manga imo.

Thanks for the insight into your collection Mark!
If I could give a top 5 series I think you should review in your collection, it would be:
1.Demon Slayer - The manga is done and the anime is ongoing, so it's in the same vein as Bleach right now but shorter. I'd definitely like to see your thoughts on the anime vs the manga material.
2.My Hero Academia - the series is supposedly in its final arc, and the anime is in one of the best, if not the best arc atm. (I also feel like you'd really like the Vigilantes prequel story and it could make for a good comparison video if that ever receives an anime)
3.Spy x Family - Massive Shonen Jump title, and it's an ongoing manga. The potential for this series is high.
    4. Jujutsu Kaisen - Similar thoughts as Spy x Family.
    5. Mob Psycho 100 - The anime's final season is airing. I don't think there wouldn't be a better time to cover it in the next few months if you could. But you also probably have other things in the pipeline so just a thought.
If I could give thoughts on personal favorites on stuff you haven't covered:
    1. Full Metal Alchemist
    2. Bakuman
    3. Spy x Family
    4. My Hero Academia
    5. Assassination Classroom

And here's the kicker - you are encouraged to read them. You can even go outside and sit in the café or on the lawn and read them. It's shelves upon shelves. Aisles upon aisles. Floors upon floors. If you ever want to go there, we have a guestroom you can stay in.
