Hanna was primarily a tropical storm, but intensified so quick as it makes landfall at 90 mph. It reminds me of Humberto in 2007 when it hit High Island and Port Arthur.
i remember Hanna! it seems like it happened so long ago already LOL, from this record breaking season. up here in Corpus Christi, we got into the northern quad so we got the rain and some decent storm surge from it ( if i remember correctly i think it was around 6 feet or so) wind wasn't too bad, maybe 60 or 65mph tops if i had to guess. thank you for another QUALITY storm chasing video, Josh! looked pretty gusty down there ;)
Love these hurricane videos, really have inspired me to like weather and especially hurricanes a lot. I’m wondering how many hurricanes you covered from this season.
That Storm definitely packed quite a punch for a cat 1.flooded the RGV with a foot and a half of rain as well. My first of 5 hurricane chases this year.
So the question I was addressing. I was just wondering if you are uploading hurricanes that have already happened months later? For example hurricane Hannah , that happened in July and it’s now December. So are you uploading hurricanes you have already filmed and saved to upload later? Is it because of Covid-19 or because there is not many hurricanes happening. And that was my question. Hopefully you can now get my question if not , please tell me and don’t worry about the question it’s just my curiosity. Happy Holidays.
@@iCyclone maybe he wants you to upload videos of Hurricanes that already happened (?) Maybe like a..compilation? Or explain some hurricanes? I didnt really understand what he said
2020 was an insane year for cyclone nerds! Most active season on record in the Atlantic. Many hurricane landfalls. Latest cat 5 storm in November (Iota). Strongest landfall so late in the season (high end cat 4 also Iota together with hurricane Lenny from 1999). Outside US: strongest or one of the strongest landfalls in history (super cat 5 typhoon Goni). Second strongest cyclone in Vanuatu (Harold). Second strongest cyclone in Fidji (cyclone Yasa), also the earliest beginning of the Pacific cyclone season on record.

I covered Hanna for KAVU TV in Victoria. We went live from Rockport and just south of Port Lavaca.....and the conditions in both locations were scary...even that far away from the actual core
That was quite mild for a hurricane but enjoyable to watch. I cant wait till next season when I start chasing. That night drive was hard because there were no lights and it was really coming down.
Funny story, just convinced a co-worker this was a storm happening right now up the road in Sydney Australia....he bought it for a while then said fuck off when he saw the palm trees and deer lol
The cat level of a hurricane can rapidly rise above the forecasted level. You never know when high profile vehicles might get blown over. It seems like a low profile sedan is the way to go -- specifically one that is known for being heavy.
Damn I wasnt expecting this video..what impressed most about Hanna was having such a large and in charge eye on satellite and the way it stalled and used every inch of water in the GOM up until landfall at 90 mph ..I mean thankfully this hit a relatively unpopulated area or else this couldve been a record 8 billion dollar hurricanes
I was in this hurricane I didn't think it was gonna be that strong and it was probably worse than Dolly a metal beam fell in my yard about 20 feet long and my neighbors roof fell off and they are still repairing
What an amazing 50th eyewall interception of your's. Great Storm!
This Video shows just how unusually violent a Hurricane at just a Category 1 can really get
Almost forgot about this hurricane with all the hurricanes there has been. Loved the footage!

@Austin 7 what the f***, Hanna wasn't in 2018 man, you mean 2008? Cause there was Hanna there.
@Austin 7 2020
Nasty little Cat 1. I was caught in this one as a depression on a boat. Puked my guts out. Waves were vicious, the wind was ripping. Never again.
In truth a Category 1 Hurricane can be just a nasty as a Category 2,3,4 and 5.
A true showing of Hurricane strength

Hurricane DORIAN in the Bahamas. Cat 5 with sustained winds of 185 mph. See the video on this channel.

Great footage Josh, this season has been a record breaker
For a second the wind sounded like some metal song (6:26) also it would be interesting if someone used hurricane footage for music clip 🙂

Not too bad, cat 1 for sure.
The back eyewall was pretty intense tho.
Thanks. You are correct: it was Cat 1.
I think the worst part about hanna was the amount of rain that it had dropped
