I keep telling people we got lucky here in Metro Manila that Tisoy/Kammuri didn't do any damage; we barely felt it , in fact. So thanks for this, Josh. I'm spreading around so people here in the "Imperial Capital" don't get complacent. You do great work, sir. Keep it up and always stay safe.
I was in Neuva Ecija, Luzon region when this typhoon hit. Being from California and not used to tropical cyclone I was in awe with this storm. Kind of scary too.
Love your work Josh, it will be amazing to know more details like wind speed and pressure on the screen by time. Then see how the storm develop. Thank you for your work!
same me watching rain and hoping for stronger winds for even just sonething to get blown off or a gust hitting me feels so relaxing I was near the eye wall of this storm when it hit us (not in the eyewall) and I just watched all day same with thyppon rammasun
Great footage as always. Incidentally I went back and and rewatched the Dorian and Maria footage earlier, it makes the Kammuri footage look like a windy day in comparison.
I’ve been binge watching your videos and I love them so much. I get so scared for your safety but then I realize, you uploaded this video, so clearly you are safe!
I am 10 years old and LOVE weather. You are my favorite RUclipsr and storm chaser and when I am older I want to be just like you! I live on Long Island and love when hurricanes come up the coast. I go outside whenever there are dangerously strong winds and record it. I just recorded Isaias! I absolutely love weather and tropical storms/hurricanes. You probably won’t see this but I hope you do!! If you do then all I wanna say is I am just like you! Thank you for the footage!
Awww, thanks so much, Mike!! I did see your note and it means a lot to me. I'm honored to be your favorite RUclipsr. I set many intense chases in your future. 👊🙂😎
iCyclone I am so excited to get your reply!! Thank you so much! I am so excited for more hurricane chases!! My dream is being in a strong category 5 hurricane and being just like you!
Heya please stay safe... I know you want to film it for us to see what we can't on the outside (since I'm from Legazpi) but please make sure yourself to be safe. At 9 pm you are outside of your hotel at the embarcadero de legazpi and that area is a reclaimed land from the sea, it's very dangerous and you never know a canopy might hit you from the nearby hill. Anyways thank you for your effort. Kudos to your courage! Oragon ka :)
Wow! Your vlog is intense! I remember sitting at home feeling the intense storm overnight, feeling paranoid if it would flood around our house which is about 2 to 3 miles inland from where you were at the Embarcadero Hotel. I've never experienced being in an eye of the storm for more than a decade and it was a really, really insane moment being in the eye. I love this footage of your's, and much love from a resident in Legazpi City, Josh!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Gilbert! I really appreciate it, and I am glad you like the video. It was quite a typhoon, huh? The eye is always a strange experience. While I am sorry your city took a direct hit, I am glad you got to experience the magic of the eye.
@@iCyclone It was! The last one I believed that we had this kind of strong super typhoons here in Legazpi, particularly in the Bicol Region were Typhoons Xangsane (Milenyo) and Durian (Reming) between September and October 2006. But the aftermath of Durian was surreal. There were people around the streets after we were hit in the first day after the typhoon, there were a number of looting in some places, and in my experience, a false tsunami warning which caused people to panic only to realize that it was an opportunity for people to loot around the city. But with Kammuri months ago, it was an incredible experience. One tree even fell down in concrete fence in where we lived (actually my residence is located from an old school compound within the city). As I biked out in the streets, I saw the damages around downtown such as concrete walls from malls were exposed after some of the plasters were torn off and shattered glass windows in the streets facing Hotel St. Ellis, and thought at first this isn't from the rain damage, it was from the strong winds that tore around the city. And I tell you, we were out of electricity for the next three weeks before Christmas. Thank god most of the people around here were safe after the storm passed by. That is my story on how me and my family experienced from it's approach to it's aftermath and how I compared it with previous typhoons that hit here in Bicol.
I wished I was there at the beginning of this video, but as soon as the power went out In it, I thought nah, not for me! Josh, you're one crazy dude, n I love it!
I stayed at this hotel during the typhoon. I got a room at the top floor and we got all asked to go down the lobby when the storm was at its strongest.
That makes sense, because hurricane winds are stronger as you go higher-- so the winds hitting the upper floors were likely stronger. Glad you made it through OK!
Justin Harris I’m talking about when they are preparing. Everyone is rushing and panicking in a way; but in the Philippines; where they get hit a lot; they are just chilled
Terry Bolden Jr. By “rushing and panicking”, you mean making precautions for a life threatening storm? I mean absolutely no offense to you or the Philippines, but “relaxing” while a storm is raging outside isn’t very smart. Now of course this storm obviously wasn’t the most intense. Typhoon Haiyan though, is quite the example of why that isn’t a good idea.
I'm from the Caribbean and when a hurricane passes, we don't go very far are islands like the Phillippines, in the USA it's a continent so it's easier to look for shelter elsewhere... In fact it all depends on the configuration of the terrain
For sure. I mean living somewhere with shitty weather like winter a guarantee is just an inconvenience. But to know for sure that this type of shit comes around every year is just crazy.
I, myself have actually experienced this typhoon. I was scared, the winds were much stronger than I expected. The wind was whistling, Our roof was being pelted by rain. We were so glad that the water wasn't too strong. If it was our house was gonna be filled with water. I am very scared and cautious about typhoons because of one experience that traumatised me. Bagyong Nina was the typhoon (sorry I don't know the internation name of the typhoon), the water was in our house a giant mango tree fell and I was screaming so much. Our Christmas was still joyful but for me it was bittersweet, I was happy because I survived that monstrous typhoon, and sad that I didn't get to enjoy the purity and happiness of Christmas. But, here on typhoon Kammuri, water didn't rush at our home and we were safe. If you read this through the end I wanna thank you for listening. Remember Stay Safe always.

Typhoon Tisoy happened 4 years ago yet I still remember that terrifying night where where it brought powerful winds almost ripping our roof apart. I live in Northern Samar basically among the first provinces to feel the power of the Typhoon before making it's first landfall. After watching it's satellite image before making landfall I was at awe and a little pissed at the same time. If Typhoon Tisoy is just going to hit us with it's strongest winds it would have better if it passed right through us instead so we could have at least some few minutes of rest in the eye. Still, that night was unforgettable and I'm glad none of my family or anyone we know got hurt.❤
Oh men. I’m crazy but one of my dreams is to go with a stormchaser like you and ride out a big hurricane one day. I live in the Netherlands zo hurricanes don’t exists here. And I’m scared for them but also so fascinated by them and want to ride out one, ofcourse in a safe place but also in a place that get the full force. Maybe I will be much scarier of them after that but I don’t know why, but this is my dream. For now I stay safe in my home watching these on RUclips haha. Seems like there's no enough preparation that can make us safe, now we just need to make sure that after the typhoon we are all complete and resilient enough to start a new day...
I've watched a lot of your videos, and I'm amazed in how much crazy cyclones you have been... Sooo, I was wondering. In your opinion, what was the strongest, most brutal hurricane - typhoon off them all? :) looking forward to your answer and keep up the amazing work that you are doing and stay safe man.. :) Greetings from Serbia :)
Hey Josh are you going to make a video on the Cristobal storm or no just wondering. Oh also forgot ummm just gotta say this is and edit pls if you do record any of these new storms pls be safe cause really at this point these hurricanes are no joke and getting more stronger and serious overtime so be safe when making these vids, it's really dangerous.
So , I was wondering, I saw somewhere that hurricanes in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico are somewhat different from those in the Pacific that say effect the Philippines and Japan etc. If there is a difference would you somehow be able to show that in a video?
Hi sir u are the courageous man. I want to make to u make more video of hurricanes, typhoons. Sir but u didn't make video on cyclone. Sir cyclone are more dangerous and affect. Once u see it was good.
And this is why northeast luzon (Cagayan, Isabela) was flooded for almost 3 weeks and class suspended for almost 1 week even if we are only signal #1 the winds are so strong in the third floor of our school (also we have classes even if its raining and the wind is strong)
Great video Josh!!!
Thank you James

Great footage as always. Incidentally I went back and and rewatched the Dorian and Maria footage earlier, it makes the Kammuri footage look like a windy day in comparison.
of course it would be a huge difference. Kammuri is a cat 4 with 135 mph winds at landfall, while dorian (185mph) and maria (175mph) are both cat 5
