She made film history in The Omega Man as Lisa. And she ended up being the glue of the movie. In less than an hour, she portrayed a hardened apocalyptic survivor, an intelligent counterpoint to the brutality of Charlton Heston, and a deranged albino plague infected cult follower. Everything in this interview is the character Lisa. So genuine.

So beautiful and gifted. You just wish you could have known her. 1981, the year this interview was made, was a bad period for blacks in film. Blaxploitation had ended. The WIz had flopped in the theaters two years earlier. Jim Brown, Richard Pryor and Fred Williamson had screwed up Indigo productions and Hollywood issued a moratorium on all black projects, claiming they made no money and were bad investments. Blacks were dead in the water from 81 to 1985 when Bill Cosby surfaces with his show. Which no one expected would work, as sitcoms were considered a dead art form. Cosby saves the sitcom, Spike Lee surfaces 2 years after that. John Singleton (RIP) and Robert Townsend shortly after that, and then its back on. But when it was time to knock down doors, we always had the shining example of Rosalind Cash making history and breaking new ground with Chartlon Heston on the silver screen to remind us of what's possible. From Kerry Washington on down, they all stand on this queens shoulders.

As one of those 'Black Cockneys' in England, I can say we all enjoyed when Rosalind on screen.. one of the first Black women on TV and screen to wear dreadlocks unashamedly, a whole decade before Whoopi Goldberg!
The film she refers to with Oliver Reed and Glenda Jackson is a cult classic now, as it featured some of the 'Brit Pack' that would go on in other diverse films, like Quadraphenia, Breaking Glass, Scum and Babylon. It was set and filmed in a rough part of London, but Rosalind showed class throughout. And if she suffered any negativity it didn't show.
I hope she came down to North West London at that time, she would have been shown love and respect!
