Salman saheb is a gem of a person, a rare breed in Pakistan where we're so used to fake history, concocted travelogues, and no focus on research and reading. He deserves our highest civilian award. Nicely conducted interview as well, a lot of information gleaned in 30 minutes!

I feel proud that I have a v v remote friendly relation with him as we lived in model town for few years and he was a close friend of sheikh tony . Salman belongs to a class who are still stuck to old values . Not many people can apprehend his thinking and love for old values particularly his love for indigenous plants . Look how he fought for them . Our own plants are useful from their roots to fruits . The plants being patronised are just a junk with no medicinal or other use. This is just out of inferiority complex ( imported plants ).
Like me he belongs to generation x and only 7% are left . With our departure this love for old values and plants will die too.
I can imagine what he has been through the culture of Lahore and specifically model town.
No one can imagine that culture who has not lived in that culture .
It is a dream dying fast .

@@parveenmehta100 Thank you, Parveen. We have a sohanjna tree in our little garden. We use the leaves for sabzi and the seen pods as well. Sometimes I take a handful of fresh leaves, run them with cold water in a blender and have a very nourishing drink. I don't need dinner after this taken at about 6:00 PM.
