A highly emotional experience, listening to Salman. What have we done to this beautiful land,to its people,to centuries of companionship? I want to honour people like Bacha Khan who opposed partition of India, suffered for independence from colonialism and spent many years in Pakistani jails for his principled stand against state propaganda aimed to keep the two countries in perpetual enmity.

I have been to Pakistan twice to discover my roots etc and had a very similar experience in Lahore and Kotli Laharan, where I met some very old people who had worked for my family, and who gave me many anecdotes. History should be told as it is without fear.

I am so happy that my husband Satyabrata Pal had a tiny hand in bringing Salman Rashid to India. Hate cannot outlast, outlive love. And no religion teaches hatred. . We have to remember the pain so that in the history of our two nations these horrors are never repeated.

I agree with the comments of Diwakar Sharma. Why the interviewer has to monopolize the conversation with interrupting comments and analysis and derailing the flow of the thoughts. The story could not come out with its full poignancy. Where is the need to do the balancing act by referring to the contrasting deeds of help? There is a separate place for them. Frustrating and irritating.

I've heard a few stories of my family facing riots while migrating to Pakistan... but those are not about my close family members, those were about extended family members. But still, i can relate to the sadness & grief because i'm a human and i know what it feels like to lose someone close....
My Maternal Family was from Srinagar & Amritsar migrated to Lahore and my Paternal Family was from Anantnag migrated to Gujrat Pakistan.... I'm a Kashmiri born in Lahore and i'm sorry if anybody from my family was involved in any riots.. love from Pakistan | Keep it up.
I'm an avid listener of Salman Baba (i call Salman Rashid sb with love) and Ustad Gulzar sahab... ALLAH bless you for bringing out these untold stories our youth might never knew about.

Mo. Ali jinha was responsible for every blood drop shed. Every orphan and raped women in India and Pakistan 1947. Partician case. He said that as lawyers he can sacrifice any muslim population of UP for carved out Pakistan infact West Punjab. Brutality steps in Pakistan infact and reciprocated in India across Radcliffe line. Sad state of affairs and loss of humanity and death' every nook and corner. .

You could've narrated all of it. Why call an author when you're not going to let him speak ? You seem to be in love with your own voice !😠
