- Join Moon Studios co-founders Thomas Mahler and Gennadiy Korol for a deep dive into No Rest for the Wicked, an upcoming action RPG. The team gives us a peek at the story, the hand-crafted world, the painting art style, the precision-based and animation-driven combat system and overcoming telegraphed attacks, various weapons and how enchantments impact weapons, runes, gear, and the soft class system.
We also get to see a fight against the boss called Warrick The Torn, and get a breakdown of the city of Sacrament, how you can build up this settlement, and get more services like a smithy and others. The video also showcases gathering resources, designing your home, and a look at No Rest for the Wicked's endgame called ALIVE.
No Rest for the Wicked is heading to Steam Early Access on April 18, 2024, and it will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at a later date.

Artstyle is a moving watercolor painting, beautiful.
Art style looks very nice
Go and play Ori right now
@@hundvd_7 I own em but I've never finished any.
They need to focus on making these games fun to play and less retro. They keep wanting to go back to the roots and that’s a bad idea
@@homelander2243 Well it seems like it's trying to innovate on arpgs
Every word that comes out of the developer’s mouth makes we want to play this even more !!!
his voice sounds like that guga steak guy.
What a fanboy

You can already tell this game is a love letter to the genre. When you can sense the passion for the game style and the thirst for innovation, you know you have a gem on your hands. I'm very excited to play on day 1
Innovation is LONG needed in ARPG sector .
D4, LE, PoE all have 1990s style combat. This is fresh.
@@loganvest367
Looking forward to this game as much as the next guy but aren't most of the innovations Wicked presents already well established in action RPGs thanks to FromSoft's work. The more involved level design and exploration as well as the methodical/calculated combat are stuff people have experienced in numerous ARPGs of the last decade...
The year of indie dev studios. Helldivers, palworld, last epoch and now no rest for the wicked. Gonna be a banger.
Big game companies will take notice by also releasing their AAA games into Early Access.
Helldivers is Sony published. Anything but indie.
@@kraenk12 AA.
Sony published it, but Devs had nowhere close the budget of a AAA @@kraenk12
And big companies stay in back many times. Art style on No Rest For The Wicked is something amazing! ❤
Artstyle gives me HUGE Arcane vibes
art design reminds me a LOT of OG Fable
Everything here looks great. The sound design REALLY sticks out. Like every sound from menus, crafting, combat, music...its all beautiful
Omg it just kept getting better! Had no freaking clue we'd be chopping down trees and fishing! Absolutely love the combo of genres going on here. Top down souls-like with some loot gear, crafting, building. Has it all! I'm now officially hyped.
Having many genres doesn't automatically mean that this is not another shitty game.
@@darkpope6667 Yupp. never preorder video games.
I'm not crying, you are. This is the dream game for many action rpg fans. This studio never cease to amaze. Lovely work guys
Crying?😅
facts
literally nowt to cry about here lmaoooo
Dramatic? lmao
Grim Dawn, Last Epoch and now this... ARPG fans have it great right now. Not to mention Titan Quest 2 (!) dropping this year!
Tactical single combat that relies on timing that is very readable. Flexible character class system. The camera angle and zoom. Designing your own home in the town. Wow. They got everything on my wishlist for an rpg innovation.
One aspect that stuck in my imagination is how the light and dark lighting moves in the background. It's like they're always fighting.
"Nothing in this game is procedurally generated."

GameInformer's piece on the game actually does confirm there are endgame roguelike dungeons with randomized content, though it's maybe possible that it's stringing together handcrafted rooms
Same dude!!! Same! Actual art direction!!!
@@PikaPhantom_ maybe like bloodborne chalice dungeons?
Even endgame!!!! Okayyyyy this is even higher on my list now! Love everything ive seen in this video.
Kudos to the devs for this fresh and thoughtfull approach, beautiful artwork and interesting design, we admire you :D
Sounds like they are gamers themselves
What a great time to be alive.
Right? So many great games lately
@@papamitri196 feels like it's gonna be this or HD2 that gets GOTY
"There Ain't No Rest For The Wicked,Money Don't Grow On Tree's"....love the Borderlands Opening ❤️😊

Cage the Elephant is a band....
Do you really not know Cage the Elephant?
This gives me the Elden Ring vibes, and I'm now very interested in playing this game in the future.
5:14 That's genius. It almost looks like it's on a sphere. Or seen through a fisheye lens.
Reminds me those non-euclidian (not really) games where it's just a camera trickery. Pretty cool.
looks disorienting to me, but maybe when you’re actually playing it’s fine
@@dorian6021i miss those games 😂
Apparently Animal Crossing inspired it
It's been quite some time since I've seen a developer being passionate and invested in their game, day 1 purchase for me ❤
The art style looks amazing, and the animations superb. It feels like there is actually weight to objects and actions.
The Ori games are some of my favourite games. You could pause at any point and it would be a painting.
I'm so excited for this. Just might do a backflip.
Wow, dark soul inside! And you can even enjoy the fun of building while having such a hard core experience! Please, please take my money!
Wow!!! Absolute dream of a game right here. It’s truly checking all the boxes, and the art style is jaw dropping. Very excited for Wicked, amazing job Moon Studios!
The watercolor graphic sold me…..
Another Gem made by Indie Devs! my gosh this year is already packed with amazing indie games that succeeded tremendously!
Can't wait for April 18. This looks freaking amazing!
The Art style alone has my attention 😮
I love when metrovania or other old form game styles shift into something different like this. Cant wait to try this out.
Genuine passion like this is often what results in a game that redefines a genre. I'm excited to see what this game's impact is.
loved your other games, will definitely check this one out too
This looks beyond amazing! Cannot wait but please take your time!
Im so happy game creators like you exist!
Holy moly... this game has grabbed my attention like no other. Can't wait to play it! Looks awesome.
2024 is really looking to be the year of the Independent gaming studios.
How is it independent? Moon haven’t been indie for a long time.
@@kraenk12How are they not independent?
@@kraenk12when have they not been?
Went from never having heard of this to it being one of my most anticipated games
Full confidence in moon studios will definitely be in the early access
this is literally everything ive ever wanted from an ARPG! IM SO EXCITED!! 😭😭😭
Breathtaking artstyle, by far the most beautiful arpg to date, imo. A lot of passion has gone into this, and this is certain to be a insta purchase for me in April.
The sound design on that Warrick boss is STELLAR!!!
"Even items or equipment we don't think about" This where is the real power of Indie games compared to last AAA failed production's. So much hype for this one, you're rock Moon Studio!
Thank you Moon Studio for making such lovely games ❤️❤️❤️
This games early access feels better than some AAA releases. Will be supporting this one all the way to 1.0 and beyond, they did a great job here.
yes… yes… yes… and YES! Beyond excited for this release. Game of the year incoming
This art style is magnificent 👌
“Nothing is generated by IA”: Starfield left the chat.
Looks amazing, and the combat looks great. The art style in particular is just gorgeous. Definitely checking this out.
Really hope these devs can make that ARPG game they've been wanting to make, one day. In the meantime, looking forward to trying this interesting take on a souls-like game.
Love this studio, can't wait for this one. Big fan of souls too, this is definitely in my cart.
You know what this game remembers me, of Kingdom of Amalur and Fable, those old schools RPGs that not only centered about combat and story, but wanned the player to interact in more ways with the world. Ori is a masterpiece, so this purchase is a no brainer for me.
The sound design I'm picking up on sounds fantastic
looks stunning, love the artstyle.
they really made a 2-hour countdown for a 25-minute showcase.
anyways WE GOT SUNSET MODE, NIGHT MODE, GROL MINIBOSS AND LIFTSSSSSSSS
Это видео продало мне игру в первый же день раннего доступа, настолько впечатлительно выглядит игра.
Game of the year, you heard it here 1st

The visual style is incredible and the game looks like a lot of fun! Wishlisted 👍
Love the art style and animations.
The freaking sound design! With the attention shown to all of these minute things, you can just feel the love poured into the game. Can't wait.

This game looks really promising, excited to see more!
Love the characters' art design
This game, is gonna be *BIG!*
So beyond hyped for this game!
most anticipated game for me in 2024. awesome into trailer.
Soulslike + Ori art = Buying this
LOoking for new games everyday, but this is the only one that really makes the cut.
the art style looks incredible in this game. cant wait to play this
Well… that was spectacular. Not a single feature you mentioned was some trendy thing other games were doing. This just might be one for the books.
this game looks fantastic, full of passion
and some big studios said gaming is dying... maybe they were scared of the gems of games like this one are coming. 2024 is becoming a amazing year for gaming!
this is the kind of arpg ive been waiting for, looks great.
Reminds of Achilles Legends Untold but actually invested
After the disappointment that was Diablo 4 for me, I’m looking forward to this. That art style reminds me of the LOL Arcane series on Netflix.
This is not like diablo at all, only common thing is the camera positioning
If you want to play better Diablo 4 play Last Epoch
Check out Last Epoch
path of exile 2 is coming out too. you might want to check that out :D

Looks dope, can't wait to play it.
We can see it clearly the hardwork of the artist and the designer! Can't wait to play this game! Thank you for your hard work! お疲れさまでした
First game announcment in a while that seriously caught my interest
I'm really intrigued by the multiplayer and what it means to share a world.
That’s the one thing that leaves me cold.
This looks INCREDIBLE
"Are you Diablo?"
"No, I'm Dark Souls"
"Oh, hello Dark Souls"
"Da hell? I'm Animal crossing!"
so funny 😂
With common loot being more customizable, I'm really hoping you can improve it's rarity to give a feel like you're a blacksmith or smthin forging what will become your own legendary blade.
Art direction looks sick, definitely gonna play this on steam deck🔥
One of my most anticipated games along with DD2!
After both Ori's games they have my full support, I'm gonna pre order this.
Sounds design ìs top notch here
I'm beyond hype for this
the game looks very beautiful and very detailed
