- No Rest for the Wicked is one of the most exciting aRPGs coming in 2024. The game, launching into early access on April 18th, is being developed by Moon Studios, the team that created Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The game's action-combat is inspired by souls-games, while the world building and story are rich and narrative driven. This game has a ton of promise and is certainly one to watch this year.

Hell yeah, i just bought a ps5 and sold my pc last fall so now im kinda bummed out about early access being pc only. :,( but im suuuuuper hyped about this game. If they announce a deluxe edition for ps5 then i know where my money and one week leave from work is going :D

@@moas8551 bro which Ipads are you playing. The best looking game you can get on an Ipad is prob clash royal. Most other big game fry that shit up. Nintendo games look like Ipad games, true but this game has many shadows which no ipad can handle. Its like saying you could play gta5 or rdr2 on moms old laptop. Sure IT will open but its not going to be over 5 fps. Same story here. Just looking at this clip tells every Ipad player like myself that no rest for the wicked is needs a good system. Even if it comes to consol. It will only be for New gen like ps5. This game will prob be better then gta5 and 6, all darksouls and better then These openworld mobile games rdr2 and the witcher 3.

heavy load turns the dodge roll into more of weighty step and shove. it's kinda brilliant, really.

boss loot is fixed and you can bypass the random loot by crafting and upgrading weapons and armor you learn to craft by finding recipes

I love games that rewards players for exploring side areas. Nothing more disappointing then spending the time and effort to go through alternative routes just to end up in a empty dead end.
That's a absolutely hell yes I'm buying this game.. I absolutely love how they had a showcase and told us we could play the game in a MONTH not 2 effin years from now
I get that studios/publishers need to garner interest to keep investors confident about projects and potential earning. But I'm so fucking tired of hearing about projects that are interesting only to have more than half of them cancelled.
Great preview as always. Please check Witchfire from the Astronauts as they were also creating fantastic games in the past. This game in a few days will take a complete overhaul with a very big update.
Assuming this is available for Xbox, yeah. I’m giving this a try. Ori was my favorite pick for Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Honestly, the gameplay could totally suck, and I would probably still play it just because of the atmosphere. One of the more beautiful games I’ve seen in a while.
One thing I'm really going to miss is the sheer vertical mobility of Ori, which given this new game's camera angle, will not have.

Only 1 chapter for a linear single player rpg ? Not sure early access should be used for these types of games.
That said though i believe Hitman released as an episodic single player game as well

So it’s going to be a year minimum before this title hits the consoles. Based on prior early access launch roadmaps of a similar game and model.
Seriously? That sucks. Why in the world do they limit games to PC like this? Such a huge audience that they’re missing out on.
I heard that enshrouded is coming to consoles whenever it actually releases also. I hope so.
@@CosmicCorey This is because it is easier to push out updates to PC. You dont have to wait for approval from Sony and Microsoft, which takes time. You also have to develop for 3 platforms at once, while the game itself is still being iterated upon. It's a lot of work, I've done it before.
When a game is in EA, it tends to have many updates, sometimes even daily micropatches. On top of that, the devs plan to be changing this game quite a bit, and adding new things along the way.
That's not to say that console games don't get patches and content editions, but... from a development perspective, it's much more efficient for them to focus on perfecting the game to be a complete experience on one platform, and THEN releasing it to others.

This is good but i think the devs need to stop talking about how they invented a new genre or how unique this game is. Sands of Aura which I'm currently playing is a great top down soulslike hack and slash arpg. It also features vertical level design. Still, I'm excited for this game. I think this will be good enough to play in early access.

Literally one of the first things they said in the video was that it's early access on Steam only. No console launch.
@@chrisdprattbeyond the early access, at 1.0 release is what my question was asking. A launch is technically when a game leaves beta, past early access, and is considered officially launched. Just so you understand my question more accurately, does anyone know if they will have a pc/console staggered launch at 1.0 launch, or will it be simultaneous? Thanks

I'll wait until full release. Not really a fan of early access these days anymore. Even when the full version comes out, by playing early access, you kind of spoil that initial wow factor for yourself.

Looks fun but I can’t handle that background music
This is more of a Souls-lite. Enemies don't respawn so even though the combat is harder and more deliberate than say Diablo, the enemies don't respawn. If you're comparing it to Darksouls, it's like if Mario Bros enemies didn't respawn when you died. The game would be a lot easier. It seems they want a you to do multiple runs because of the random loot. I haven't heard of any stupid end game, which would be a breath of fresh air for an arpg.

God please don’t be too difficult. I know folks like that, but I suck at games. Would 100% buy day one if not for the Souls-like references, but gonna have to wait to see if I’ll be stuck on the first boss …
I wouldnt worry too much. The combat is methodical, but it's not as punishing as souls. You won't be able to stand still and spam, though. When in doubt, grab some friends to help you out!
“Preview” used to mean you actually got to play the game

Dunno. So much hype but I dont think it will hit ori standards. Ori was special. This seems like an unoriginal blend with a nice coat of paint. Characters were tropes.
The diablo souls like direction seems to be an effort to make more sales as well.
Will be good, but not as special as ori.
