As always, great review, Becca! I have used a lot of turner watercolor, and your points are good. There are some beautiful colors to grab on sale that will hold their own with other brands. Others can be meh. They maya colors are weak, but the colors in their 24 basic set are actually quite reliable and a lower end professional choice in my opinion. But I have some open stock recommendations if you want some granulating colors: Mars black (it's cooler than others) Mars violet Mars brown Ultramarine blue deep Manganese violet Benzumadazilone (spelled wrong I'm sure, not really granulating, but a gorgeous pbr25 brown) The red rose deep, permanent yellow, pthalo blues are all solid basics. You can get good paint in the line. I bought a bunch when thev15ml tubes were on sale for $4-$7 one year. Oh, the cadmium and colbalts are nice as well. It's a quirky brand tho. I bought a set of their designers gouache that I need to use. I actually liked the acrylic qouache as a matte acrylic. Sorry for the novel😂 keep up the good work, friend!
I agree on some colors having beautiful granulation. My favorite is Mars Violet-it’s on most of the palettes I configure. I love it bring texture into mixes as well. Their Ultramarine Deep is a favorite too! I’ll have to check the rest of these recommendations out!
Thanks for the video 🎉 i enjoy using gansai paints, and opaque leaning watercolours in general, however i also wasn't too intrigued by the Art Nouveau set.
Thank you for an interesting video I loved the colour palette, but not over sure about these paints. I am a big lover of Holbein watercolours and coloured pencils.
I've noticed when you swatch paints a lot of them react funny when it goes over the black line for opacity in particular here in the beginning of the video when you're first watching the colors the last four the rusty the buff titanium the green and the pastel purple all acted weird on that black line. Do you know why that is? Is it the marker that it's reacting with?

I really wish I could try out the holbein irodori watercolors- I missed out on them. Maybe they'll have a new set at some point if enough people ask.

Thank you so much for your videos ^^ very enjoyable and I love the review you gave. What are your thoughts on the Staedtler watercolors?
Thanks!
