God I hope Dan does these more often than yearly. Even though the animations aren't as flushed out as, say, the previous one (talking about the stick limbs here), it's still fucking amazing and ludicrously hilarious. Dan, after all this time, is still the man.
I prefer the old animation style, However I still like this new style. I'd much rather have the old animation style, I'll still watch this style happily, Just as long as we don't have to wait another five months for the next video. cx
Actually, if you check the other animations the character models and style are more detailed and from what I understand in animation it makes it harder to animate. With this more simpler style, animation is much easier and its not as much of a chore to make more frames with it and thus more fluent
Amazing animation. It is just so damn fluid and the creativity behind the "form" choices and depictions of Cox and Crendor is just mind-bogglingly amazing each time!! So amazed by these animations.
Do I just hate change? I love all of Dan's Cox and Crendor's but something about this one just didn't appeal to me. It just didn't seem like the others. Not just the animation but the way he portrays all the little sounds and laughs they make just didn't seem as clever and interesting as others. I mean just look at the last one he did or something like The Spud Who Loved Me. They have so much charm and wit. This just felt really flat to me. Anyone else?
Well, here's my theory. maybe not as much work went into this, as the duck/caricature of daniel tan was shown throwing up the characters. Is it saying that he is doing these because of pressure, and everyone wants them, or am i overanalyzing?
I personally think the new intro of Cox painting the title is so adorable! I am still very much so in love with the old style; I've just never found the 'constant jiggling' type of animation looks to be a favourite. I do indeed miss the smooth lines and polished shapes rather than scribbley styled lineart, but it was still funny c:

That's what I'm afraid of, this animation is much more fluid, it has lipsync and everything making it take a lot longer to produce a single "episode".
