Battery Visit Workshop warning light on Mercedes - It can mean a few different things. First, turn off anything that might drain your battery - seat heaters, headlights, air, radio, etc. Immediately take it to an AutoZone and have your battery and alternator tested. Or safely take it home and park it.

Thanks. Plain and simple, you answered all my questions. I took my vehicle to the shop for an evaluation. I am waiting to hear from the mechanic. I hope that its one of the batteries. I suspect the battery under the hood is bad. It is six years old.
My nephew had that problem and it was the alternator. I buy it from Geek Parts, $124.98. Made in the USA with Bosh parts. And I brought it to Panama Republic of Panama, and it works perfectly. Mercedes B E320, Year 2003.
Exactly where I’m at right now. E320 2004 and both batteries were charged and tested good. So I’m thinking alternator and gen with fuse that attaches to the alternator. I seen them at autozone for 125$… maybe he was talking about the dealership fees.. I’m going to do it myself lol save 800 at least. That motivates me lol

if it is the alternator you can buy the brush set/voltage regulator not hard to do yourself cost $30 if the car is old chances are it needs the brushes replaced if the bearing isnt noisy in the alternator most likely that's all you need
Broken belt can cause the light to ON. I just changed the belt..its okay now. I have changed the auxillary or smaller battery before (5 yrs ago). That also solved the problems.
I paid $850 in total :( it was the alternator. I felt like I got robbed but it was a Boash brand. Is that good?
Thank you for the insight, in my case it is the auxiliary battery (the small one) that was faulty which I had to replace today.

There is another place that will give you this message. At least on my SL55. There is a "fuse link" under the passenger side foot well. That pops rarely but if it does it will give you this light. Somewhat of a PITA to swap out. Be careful NOT to drop the nylox nut wen taking out the leads or the fuse! It will fall between a space you cannot access!
How do I find the fuse link?
Where is thsi fuse coming from, going to? It is a weird place for a fuse between alternator and battery ...
I'm having the same issue with my C250, but the battery warning doesn't display every day.
Super easy to do yourself. My e350 went out the other day and took about an hour to get the old one out cause I'd never done it before. I can probably get the new one back inside in about 30-45 minutes

Update: it was my auxililiary. Moral of the story. Don't buy a battery on eBay without checking the ampage. I put a 10 amp instead of 12. Anyways, I'm buying the Exide EK131, better than the original.
What is in my w203 C-Class kompressor was in perfect health and I read the car a couple of times messing but since it's light came on I have been driving the car for 3 days after the fact and the battery has not been drained or I have no trouble starting or listening to radio anything in turn caused by is it possible to just accidentally cause this light to trick on without actual is it possible that if I took the terminals of the battery for a half an hour are so that it might fix the problem

I have a 2012 mercedes glk350 4matic. 4 months ago my battery died. I work at auto zone and used our in house battery analyzer and it confirmed my battery was dead. I replaced the battery and retested the entire system and it said that my charging system was bad as well. I replaced the alternator. And the analyzer still states it has a bed charging system. But the car has been running fine up until yesterday. The red battery indicator came on again? I retested the system and it indicated a bed charging system again? Are there any other components that would cause this problem?

If it’s the alternator it may just need to have e the voltage regulator replaced; the Bosch regulator is available at EBay starting at $49. There are RUclips videos on how to do it.

That's what I'm looking after, too, since I have already changed the battery (now brand new) and the alternator seems to charge the battery OK. After start, charge current quickly comes down from some tens of amps to just a few amps and voltage is around 14 volts at battery. The red light "alternator or battery" comes up some 10 seconds after start while engine is running and amps measurement on battery shows OK charging.
I replaced both batteries and can’t seem to find the problem the red visit workshop went away after i replaced the aux battery in the front but still managed to die the next morning you think that it could be the alternator next not holding charge?

? I found out that sometimes after everything checks out the module that programs the car needs to be reprogrammed to tell Mercedes’ control needs to tell it batteries swapped and are ok. My question. Is the amazon type code readers capable of doing this ???

When i hook the multimeter up to the battery i get 12.59 when i start the car i get 12.19 but as i said new alternator and regulator obviously because it came with it. The new battery is perfect. I have put in 3 different alternators now with warranty swaps.

It is also possible the battery control module is gone out which is next to the battery inside the trunk that is a $500 part

@@ChrisKtheProducer you don't have to clear the code if you got the right part it automatically goes away. But if you have torque app you can clear codes that way

My car started sounding weird like a whimy lawnmower, then I heard what sounded like a cablesmapping off and snapping off with a thud and that light came on. Seconds later I had no steering. Thank the good Lord I was in front of a safe place to pull it off road and park. I just got a new battery three weeks ago. I'm very interested to find out what's wrong. I suspect the battery I replaced was still good and it is this alternator issue. thank you

Replaced trunk battery, six battery, and brand new alternator unit with new voltage regulator, serpentine belt and idler pulley after car burned out on road. Battery symbol still on dash but not smoke or other symptoms, so I am still on the hunt for the issue. Bought an innova Rs2 obd reader but it’s not pulling up anything on the battery or alternator issue.

If you're battery front battery is not charging it could be two things one your alternator and two your F40 fuze which is located on the passenger side behind the glove box it's in that glove box area same thing happened to my car

I don’t trust my skills under the hood of my $70k vehicle. I would rather pay a qualified mechanic and get a warranty on the repairs. Peace of mind is more important than saving a few bucks.

It was dying due to the alternator. Had to get a new one, cost about $800 😬
if someone charges you 800 you need to run . alternator replacement should be around 350 if you are hands on for $180 you can do it yourself pretty easy . @@FusionKidd

@@FusionKidd Thx bud. Truly though it's an EASY job to replace the alt. It's like a couple bolts and no equipment needed other than the socket wrench. Nothing will get done if we don't try. One of the easiest jobs on any car and I ain't kiddin. You relax the serp belt and unbolt the alt. Plug and play!! God Bless you friend
