Thank you sir! I have a 2006 e350 with this issue… so I ordered the device off of Amazon… I just got my device, I did what you said and it worked immediately! For some reason it didn’t reset while my car was off, so I turned it on and it worked Thank you❤
If Mercedes set a threshold for safety and you wish to exceed the recommended threshold then, don't complain when it goes into limp mode due to the reason that the electric motor on the SBC unit has worn out and no longer functions due to excessive use. I see this tool as similar to resetting your service interval and not doing the oil change. It is no different.
I’m not sure about outside of the US but in the US Mercedes has extended this warranty for 25 years / unlimited mileage. I would suggest people check with a dealer for free service before doing this reset as that may effect if Mercedes replaces the sbc pump or not.
One quick question... so if those brushes inside are wear out and you got that warning light on, don't you think that is then not good idea to extend the warning light for another 150 thousand miles, if you already have bad brushes?
It is sad that in South Africa, where I live, Mercedes never extended the warranty on the SBC units. You have to pay for it yourself. My '05 E240 is on blocks because the replacement units cost a fortune.
In US MB will change the SBC for free. I guess till 25 years from cars production date. Just ask your local MB workshop. The reset you did can become dangerous because the SBC might lose its function without warning. So you are left without break force increase. You still can break but much slower and in case the SBC loses its function in the wrong situation you are screwed...
@@MLM111I do own a 2003 E240. ALL SBC from the early production years got a 25 year warranty on it. Even if the shop will charge $350 to get a $2,000 SBC unit - that would be still a good deal.
Mercedes NA extended the warranty on theciriginal and subsequent new units because of a class action lawsuit against them in U.S. They didn't really want to do it out of the goodness of their Teutonic heart. In other countries I guess they feel they can get away with any potential liability issue because people in other countries aren't nearly as litigious as in U.S. If one American died from failure if the SBC, MB would have been found liable and been forced to pay out not millions, but billions. Gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em.
Already had my SBC replaced for free from MercedesBenz on my E500 Wagon when brakes went out and got the ominous Red warning light on the instrument panel. Now have to bring in my E55 for same "Brake" malfunction message. Brakes are working fine but aince MB will replace the SBC, I think that os better route than eventually having the brakes go out. That was quite a dangerous occurrence on the E500 but i was only going 2 mph when it happened so no tragedy. Mercedes will even reimburse you for work done by your own mechanic as long as you provide all documentation that the work was done correctly and then bring the car in to MB to let them inspect the work. Must bring receipt for the genuine Mercedes SBC unit installed and installation fees paid.
Using this tool is ignoring the recommended service interval of the SBC pump. It is no different than resetting your service interval and not changing the oil and filter and carrying out, other service items that are required.
Good video only problem is you skipped some parts...such as where to find the OBD2 connector for all Mercedes...I have a 2011 GL450 and so your video doesn't really help
OBD2 connectors for all Mercedes are underneath the dash on the steering column under section side, look for it sometimes they have this little door that you must unclip and exposed the OBD2 connector sir.
From other U tuber the reservoir pressure supposedly to be up to 120barg, pretension pressure suppose to be 70barg. At brake pedal depression of 18mm the outgoing brake fluid pressure is about 8barg. At 23mm it goes up above 17barg. I borrowed a low end OBD2 which shows only 3 readings for outgoing brake fluid pressure and brake pedal depression. The same resetting tool as this I bought are a dud. Had to get a workshop to reset. The SBC block number starts from A 004? Then yearly at A 006, A O07, A 008 and to the last one A 009........denoting year 2007?. 😂😂😂

You have to turn the key two clicks (but don't turn the engine on)
Will it work on a 2095 E320?
What is the use of the small disc that comes with this tool

How much was it on Amazon

I have a 2006 Mercedes e500 4matic is there a link so that I can find that part to reset my SBC
You don’t need to flush the brakes or anything? And is it safe to do this

They want to charge $350 for diagnostic charge it’s not free

Good video only problem is you skipped some parts...such as where to find the OBD2 connector for all Mercedes...I have a 2011 GL450 and so your video doesn't really help
This video is not meant for you… SBC was only available on 211, 230 and 219.
