Great video. It's right what I was looking for
+Ruben Herrero tnx
Hard to believe this is the successor to the ML02 that case was way ahead of its time.
I used this case about a year ago and got in a HDD and SSD underneath the optical drive which has left room for another drive in the future to maybe go where this guy's put his. Also installed a USB 3.0 card so I could drill out the front of the case for two more USB 3.0 ports (4 total) up there. The biggest problem I had with the build was that the motherboard power was at the opposite end of the case from the power supply and therefore that cable is pretty tight. It works though.
Four fans taking air out, it only needed to install a bag to that vacuum cleaner.
hey nice build. are those fans intake or exhaust?
what's the height of the case without the rubber feet? I'm thinking of buying this case for my silent, stealth and powerful emulator station + samba FS.
Nice job. Is it possible to fit another 3,5" hdd in the place of the optical drive?
You can buy 5.25" to 3.5" adapters, so you can fit a 3.5" in the 5.25" bay
What is the proper ventilation for the 80 mm fans? All blowing air into the chassis or all blow out of the chassis?
You realy don't need that many case fans for an HTPC build. It will do nothing but increase noise... One good Noktua 80mm fan near the CPU is enough.
Which power supply was used? ATX or SFX? Thanks, a very good video.
Juliano nicoletti standard ATX power supply
PC.com Thanks for quick reply. With all these fans, significantly increased the noise?
Juliano nicoletti a little... especially if it's in some closed space. but if not in closed - you can disconnect 3 or even all of them
Could I install a Corsair CSSD-BRKT2 under the optical drive?
Open the case and check it by yourself
I've just ordered these parts today and they arrive tomorrow to start my HTPC build.
CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81M-H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Sandisk SSD PLUS 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Case: Silverstone ML03B HTPC Case
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
I havent added any additional fans, what are the CPU temps like under load and idle ?
+Jonathan Cave it depends... the placement of the pc... and cpu fan
I changed my case to the ml05 as this one was too big and I bought a mini it'd motherboard to go with it.
+Jonathan Cave So, how are the temperatures after using the HTPC, any problems so far?
+Miloš Vučković temps are fine no issues.
Are 4 (or any for that matter) additional case fans necessary for this case?
it depends. the placement of the computer very important
PC.com I think it's too much but ok
Luís Jerónimo the more fans you have the slower and quieter you can run them.
Lol thats right but more fans will always produce more noise
If I put 4 x 80mm fans on the side there, will they conflict with the motherboard?
Don't think so. but it need check
@@PCcom-me2bv I'm planning on putting 4 be quiet! fans in there. Will they conflict? What fans did you put in there?
@@StephenPhillips i'm not sure that understand what you mean "conflict with motherboard".
@@PCcom-me2bv What I mean is will they touch the motherboard to where the fans won't fit at all?
@@StephenPhillips you have place especially for 4 fans
what GPU is that?
What is the gpu?
how many hard drives can it fit?
2hdd+ssd
dose this case fit 13 inch vcards ?
guess not
is this low profile gpu only?
+Arvin G yap. only low profile
Will a Wraith Stealth Cooler fit in this?
it's cpu cooler, no? than check specs
@@PCcom-me2bv it is a cpu cooler for AMD.
@@StephenPhillips find the model number and ggl it
@@PCcom-me2bv #9SIAGTU7TH3297 on Newegg.
how did you remove cd/dvd drive PC cover?
Did i??
@@PCcom-me2bv yes. Its done.
More fans equals more dust. You do not need all of those fans. Armatures.
Amateurs and you can actually fit dust covers to reduce dust gathering in the case by a lot.
Nick Poverman - Wrong. Improper airflow causes dust. The number of fans is irreverent. Positive pressure=less dust.
@@Cerus98 wrong any air flow moves dust, more flow equals more dust
@@matthuegera5096 - You’re incorrect kiddo and aren’t even on the same page as my comment. You had two years to get a proper response typed up. Talk about a fail.
See my previous comment. Number of fans=irrelevant. Amount of flow=Irrelevant.
If you want to reduce dust getting inside the case and in random nooks and crannies then you want positive pressure.
Positive=more air going in vs out. Negative pressure=more air going out than in.
Negative pressure creates a vacuum effect which pulls air and dust through not just the fans themselves but through any and all gaps in the case. Thus bypassing any dust filtration one might have.
Whether you have five fans or fifty makes no difference. You use what is required to achieve the cooling needed while maintaining positive pressure.
I suggest taking a few more years to formulate a better response after learning basic physics and the physics of PC building.
Maybe then you won’t make such an irrelevant and ignorant comment thinking you won’t get trashed in a response from whomever you’re trying to one up. 🤣
PC.Com and he doesnt use an Anti static wristband? lol
+Atlas Tomcat I guess you've been very lucky. I've had mobos become non functional after a static electricity discharge. its not very smart to place those items on carpet.
Though I own one, I rarely ever ever use one. I have though in the past (distant past touch wood) killed a mobo or two which I believe was caused by static.
I hate when people do not handle the motherboard the correct way. You should not touch the back of the motherboard at all. You also should put the hard drive in before the motherboard. What a mess. Also use an SSD as your boot drive. OMG. Your cable managment leaves me a little confused as to how many builds you have done. What was that all about pushing those under the motherboard. I hope you didn't cut any of the cables on the sharp points of the motherboard. Did you think this through before you did the build. The fans look like an after thought. I would never let you build a PC for me. thank god I have been building for years and know what to do and not to do. This is a not to do video.
