How do you deal with tax remittances for international sales (eg. EU sales, UK sales etc..) Teachable does all that for you, while Kajabi doesn’t. My issue is that it’s impossible for an individual to follow dozens of countries tax laws, register in every country’s tax system etc. Seriously, this is my ONLY reason why I am not switching, as Teachable does it. But Teachable lacks other features.. so i am torn apart.. But I am open for ideas. Please let me know how you deal with this nightmare. Shall I take the risk, and not register for tax remittance, and hope to get away with it? Or what is a small business owner supposed to do? Thanks!
Grateful for your perspective. Been using Kajabi for the last year and a half. Highly recommend. My only regret was starting a Patreon when I knew nothing about Kajabi. Should have started my membership on Kajabi.
Thanks for the comparison! Personally, I've been using Teachable for the last 6 years, and I love their easy to create courses and beautiful overall pages. But lately their customer support has been very slow. I have an issue with billing students (and loosing money in the process) and I've submitted three tickets over the last 15 days and still no response. Plus, they increased their prices and went from unlimited courses to a very limited number of courses for the same plan. I wanted to stay with Teachable (the hassle of moving platforms) but they are pushing me away with such bad customer support. I'm now considering Kajabi or Thinkific
Kajabi has good reviews because of the network marketing. There are major issues with email and support. I paid over $3500 to have the website build because the site is not user friendly and the videos do not match the site. After 20 minutes of trying to get one photo on the site and it continually messing up, I realized the lie. My WP site - thank God I kept it is much better! Getting out now!
Great video. I did check on Teachable and realized it is not for me. You helped with clarifying the important distinctions between these 2 providers. I switch to Vonza as it is easy to use.
For sure! I definitely am way more happy with Kajabi than I was with Teachable. I found there were so many elements missing with Teachable and so i'd have tp pay for them separately!
Ahh thanks so much Erin! Yes, I definitely do! I should do an updated Kajabi video! I am still absolutely loving it. I just used their Funnel system my last launch, and it was incredible. All my freebies/opt-ins and email marketing is done in Kajabi as well.
Thanks for the video! The biggest upside for me for teachable is the fact that they collect and remit sales taxes internationally. Kajabi doesn’t do that. How do you handle sales taxes with international customers? Isn’t it a pain in the ass having to handle this manually?
So I hired on an account and a tax account to meet with to go over all my questions on this, and it ended up not being as complicated as I thought at all!
@@DanieJay oh wow sounds good. I may have to do that as well because this is what’s holding me back to use platforms that do not remit tax for me. Are you doing this by yourself now or do you have someone hired who manages this?
This was good. Teachable sounds like a no brainer for anyone starting out, put that extra $100 a month towards ads and maybe move once you actually need it the additional services.
I’m curious about why you don’t like convert kit? I use them now and I only have male chimp to compare them to which was way worse lol. Would love to hear what you recommend and why didn’t like convert kit
great video, and I have a question, when you switched from Teachable to Kajabi, How did you do to migrate all your students from one platform to the other one?
So price is important but you go for the most expensive? I think the main issue is what does each platform do and what do you need it to do, and clearly Kajabi does a lot more, but if you only need a platform to host your mostly video course then you can eliminate Kajabi and choose between Udemy (who take half your income AND price your course at whatever they choose), Teachable and Thinkific, the latter two being most comparable price /feature wise at the Teachable Pro level.
Hey! If you watch the video, I explain in depth why I chose Kajabi...and that I originally chose Teachable b/c it was so much cheaper, but it didn't fit my needs. ❤ Now, actually Kajabi is cheaper than what I was paying for Convertkit and Teachable and it replaces both of those.
@@DanieJay Thank you so much for your response and for the video. Yes, I watched this and I've watched a lot of comparison videos- mostly quite dated. You are not alone in the move to K nor choosing cheaper initial outlay over better longer-term investment. I think we've all been in that boat! Perhaps the ideal platform would be feature rich but you only pay for the features you feel you need now but I dont see any of them operate like this. Having put a course on Udemy to test the waters, I know that I need another platform where price control (and perhaps credibility) is mine. Im looking at Xperiencify too! how did you get subscribers on Teachable vs Kajabi? I didnt even know about K or XP for that matter until i watched your review and others. How would potential clients know what site to choose when the creators dont even know?
Hopefully you check the comments here I would really like to know how you handled moving students over from one platform to another. Did you just give them a free voucher for Kajabi course or cancel everyone and ask them to re-signup?
Yes, I manually added in my old students...BUT you could definitely also just give them a coupon that they use to check out the new course in Kajabi that way it's less work for you!
Very helpful! Although I personally use a tool called CourseFunnels. This tool support varieties of languages, which is very helpful for me as I can take courses in local languages as well for my audience. Additionally, this offers profit-boosting plugins to sell the courses at a higher price.

Is the email platform actually robust enough to skip the outside email platform? That is a total game changer. I was just about to upgrade my teachable account on a sale that ends tomorrow... And now I'm reconsidering...

Thanks for this information Danie it was very helpful! I loved being able to see what your course looked like on both platforms! I’d love to do a course in the future and I’ve also heard about the course creators kit platform, do you know much or have any experience with it? That was something I was also looking into as it was recommended by a course that I took who hosted their course on it. Thanks for the video once again 🥰
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I haven't heard of the course creators kit! But I would still say, if it doesn't offer funnels, email marketing, and all that jazz, that Kajabi is still probably a better deal at the end of the day. But everyone has their different course platform loves ❤️😂.
@@DanieJay I had never heard of it before either so thought I’d ask just in case you had any experience with them, but from what I was told it does all of that all in the one platform too on course creator kit, so I’ll have to do some more research into it for sure! But yes I’ve heard Kajabi to be a big player in the course creating world and many people choose them but depends like you said what you want to use the course platform for and if you want to sell / add additional items 😊 Thanks for your reply!! Sending love 💖
This is a great debate haha! I worked with Kajabi for years for my mindset course and recently made the switch to Xperiencify. Any thoughts on XP? Right now I'm loving the gamification and my clients are loving it too!
No, because I HATE the way it looks as a student lol. I've taken a few course that were hosted in Thinkific and didn't like it. So I didn't even consider it. 🙈
Hey! Yeah I definitely didn’t choose it at first and went with Teachable to save money but real quick realized I could make more money with Kajabi, because it’s so robust! So glad to hear this was helpful!
Hi, thanks for the video! It's really great. I recently signed up to the Pro plan with Teachable as I was looking at the cost (I used to be on Clickfunnels), but I've realised how very limited it is for the things I need it to do for my coaching business. I'll be going with Kajabi and using your 30-day link. I have a custom domain with Teachable, I'm hoping that it'll be easy peasy transferring it all on Kajabi. Did you transfer your custom domain from Teachable to Kajabi? How was it for you? By the way I hit subscribe and liked your video. Thank you!
Hey! Thanks so much for using my link! I appreciate you! Honestly, I haven’t transferred my domain because I also have a Wordpress website. How are you liking Kajabi?
You're going to crush your course/coaching program!!!
