@zico1024 Very frightening indeed!!! Oh that's right, and ridiculous! Thanks for your comment, it's great to have a laugh sometimes at our overly serious study of karate.
@MrWintersho You're right Frank - a little long. Perhaps I should have split it into two or three videos but my time is so limited I just put it out there as one video.
@Yautja297 I show the side angle so that you can see two fingers. This strike would really only be applicable as an eye strike and therefore the fingers would need to be apart.
:D I can see why for Seiryuto you explain what it means and it has a more powerful meaning and your name on here is Seishin because it has the meaning of the dragon :)
@Yautja297 Well if you plan on striking someone at both eyes then I guess you'll have to spread your fingers...unless your assailant is a cyclops *jk*. I think it mainly used for striking at the eyes. Probably ribs and throat too but as I'm still a student maybe sensei can tell us more.
Its a shame its not the correct pronunciation example its not pronounce as Shuto the right pronunciation is SHto Please Let a Japanese speaking interpreter speak for me its of the utmost importance.

@elitte89 You're right! Like I said in the video - not totally comprehensive but pretty close. Hammer fist is called "tettsui".

Fantastic video, wish you could make more videos on shotokan techniques.
wonderful this info greatly respected
Excellent explanation my sensei. Showing inner position of the striking hand would be useful. Position of the thumb will add more detail.
Thank you so much, it helped a lot.

He did a lot work for training. Sensie rei 🥋
@awadhesh008 i assume thats a question and "kk" pretty much means "k" which would equal "ok", because "k" is pronounced as "ok" more or less
Thank you very much
what exactly is the defining difference between the teisho and kumade?
Nice video! But what about hammerfist? I'm sure that it is used in karate, but I don't remember the japanese name.
Huh...in the Shorei-Goju dojo I go to, we call the eagle hand the chicken head strike. Interesting to see what different styles call stuff...
Thank you from Indonesia
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
@seishin73 Thanks a lot, I was racking my brain over this. It's closest I've ever found.
Uraken has once saved me among my opponents
@seishin73 kk thanks for answering ;)

Thank you for this, Sensei. Very informative video. Chicken-head hand is a ridiculously frightening name for a technique. hahaha
