Yes, but let's be fair here, this wasn't the "crown jewel". I understand that it was two top 5 teams playing (at the time), with serious playoff implications, but this game isn't really as big as the Iron Bowl, or Michigan vs Ohio State, or even Texas vs Texas A&M. I’m not even really a football fan, but going to a college football game-especially SEC-is an amazing experience. I’m from Arkansas: say what you will about the Razorbacks football team, but game weekends in Fayetteville, in the Ozarks, are amazing. It’s definitely one of the best college towns in the country, and in such a beautiful natural setting.
I’m not a Texas fan at all, but I was generally treated well and we played every year, but I think they liked me as as Texas Tech fan because we usually beat Texas A&M. Still lots of trash talk, but that’s kind of my thing, so horns down, they hated my horns down koozie but I always rocked it anyway! Ha. I lived there for almost 24 years so I had a lot of arguments, but good people and good times!
The fans of the colleges are normally welcoming to everyone! That’s what makes it special. I’m a UGA fan living in Louisiana and had gone to the LSU vs Georgia game and partied at the tailgate with LSU fans such a better Gameday and environment then pro sports
It’s always been funny to me that Europeans don’t think Americans are real sports fans because they can exist in the same area as opposing fans without killing each other.. maybe that’s just the logical practical way to behave when you remember you’re simply at a sporting event (which is literally a professionalized children’s game) and not at the onset of WW3 or something.. fanbase legacies go back just as far in the US as they do in Europe, it just took a radical violent turn at some point in Europe for some reason
Sigh…I miss tailgating at UT aka Tennessee. Taking 1/2 day Friday to prep, up at 4:30am for a night game, at spot next to bball arena by 5am, fully setup with tents, coolers, Sat dish, generator, TV’s, etc. Seeing all the people you only see a few times a year, making 700 Jell-O shots, food, watching the game at the tailgate and hearing the roar of a score and fireworks before you see it on TV. Watching other games after ours was over, slowly tearing down and packing up the tailgate van and eventually getting back home about 2am. And then doing again 6-7 more times a year. Bad knees took me out. 😢
Last time i was there i just wanted to go back and do it all over again. It all went by so fast. We didn't realize how special that time of our life was
I went to UTAustin for my undergrad in Econ and Masters in Public Accounting. It was the best time of my life. So many great minds and a strong Alumni base. Hook ‘Em Horns!
In the Southern US, college football is king. It’s a total party atmosphere. Going to a professional game is a different atmosphere. The tailgating? Yes. The band, not so much. The cheerleaders? Why? I don’t want to diminish what they do but in high school or college, the fan section will cheer along. I’m glad you had a great experience!
This is Texas first year in the South East Conference which over the past two decades has arguably been the toughest conference in the country. Texas just got a taste by loosing to Georgia as to what is ahead in the SEC. Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. American college football is a great and endearing tradition.
Then they got the truest SEC experience: Losing the conference championship to the only team to beat you in the regular season. Already popped their cherries in Austin.
It's so fun to see how much you guys are loving America. I don't know about other folks, but it definitely makes me appreciate our (sometimes wild) benefits a little more haha. (PS: we need to get jets over the next crossfit games!)
I love sharing college football with folks & videos like this to see the experience for them. Thank you so much . This was a big game & after this weekend, thete may be a repeat in Atlanta for the SEC Championship!! #GoDawgs!!!
Its not just Texas. You could go to UGA, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, etc... We all do this every Saturday all over the country. Just pick a night game where two teams from the same conference are playing. Its even better if ESPN Gameday is there.
You should go to a high school game also. Even for teenagers it can pull a crowd of over 1000 and there are a lot of big name high schools in the Austin area.
That was an awesome experience. I have been blessed with attending some big college rivalry games, (Miami vs FSU, Nebraska vs OU, CU vs Nebraska, Wyoming vs CSU, and Texas Tech vs OU when Tech beat them in 2022 in Lubbock after losing ten straight seasons.) and it is an experience that is beyond description.
That Learfield Directors cup is certainly the most prized in the cabinet, at least to school presidents. HOW PRIZED? Well, for most of its existence, it is sarcastically known as the "Stanford Cup" due to how rarely any other school aside from Stanford can claim it for their trophy case.

Ever since TAM entered the SEC in 2013 (I was against that at first as I am I life long UGA fan) they have been quite fun to watch and their fans are some of the most gracious SEC fans. So glad to see you could enjoy a real American football game, and in the Great State of Texas! If you get the chance, you have to experience a Texas A&M football game down in College Station, Texas! An experience you'd never forget!
It makes me so happy to see people from other cultures enjoying our university and our traditions! It really gives me a new appreciation for everything :)
I grew up in Eugene Oregon, home of the Ducks. Southern football schools put other Universities to shame. It's like a city wide festival whenever the play. Tailgating at the UofO is just people hanging out in the parking lot, eating food. I honestly think it's because the weather. It's raining and cold AF during half of the season in Eugene.
It’s not the cold weather, it’s the secularism of the West Coast. Southern culture’s greatest influence is the Bible whose precepts are consideration & wellness for others, unselfishness, hospitality, joy, optimism, hope, enthusiasm, love, family, & faith in God and Jesus Christ.
In Austin August and September games can be over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (close to 38 Celsius for you Europeans). Sometimes depending on the side of the field and the time of the game you can be in full sun for 4 hours. Fortunately though, the tailgates often have tents and some have fans blowing cool mist. My 1st Texas game I ended up with a massive sunburn. I learned my lesson.

Other than him gayly crying over "racism".
College football is more fun than the pros.
NFL is boring AF!!!! I can't to watch it.
Unless you live in Buffalo!!
More drunks at a College for sure... 😂😂😂
💯
Theres just so much more spirit, and people are actually playing for something other than keeping a contract so the intensity is amped sometimes, especially in rival bowl games.
I'm so glad you got to experience a real football team in action!
By which I mean Georgia.
As a Longhorns fan this is by far the best video yall have ever done!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Love that ya'll got to experience a Football game. Especially a college football game, they are just different !
Was crazy!
I'm happy you were able to witness the true champs of American college football, the Georgia Bulldogs. Welcome to the US! Cheers! GO DAWGS!
I've bled orange for over 40 years and yet it only now occurs to me that all "Tee-sipper" Brits should be Horns fans. Welcome, y'all! We're very proud of our world-class athletes and I think it would be a crime not to respect and honor them. The very best come from around the world to perfect their craft in Austin. I love rooting for them in the Olympics etc for teams all over the globe. Calvin Fry, Britian's swimming sprinter, just committed to Texas. I'm sure a search would yield more Brits. We are spoiled. We're Texas. Hope everyone treated you well and that you return often. And that we get another shot at Georgia. \m/
We have our shot tomorrow 🤘 and yes, I was thinking the same during the tea 🍵 sipping part lol
The Texas host who was showing them around reminded me of Terry Funk of NWA fame for some reason.
Welcome to Fall Saturday afternoons/nights in the SEC!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Shoutout Ben at 12:25! The announcer for the game has a dog he brings with him from game to game. The pup has definitely become a celebrity in his own right. Goes without saying, but he is a very good boy.
Dogs be legends
Ben is a legend

@@TeamRICHEY That was one of Ben's last games. RIP to a great dog! ruclips.net/video/37w4Wk5H5c4/видео.html
@TeamRICHEY he just passed away unfortunately there was an amazing outpouring of love for the goodest boy in college football
What an adorable couple! I am glad this ended up in my feed. Cheers!
GOSH DARN TEXAS got a B1 flyover. I'm jealous. I hope you guys know how lucky you were to see those things. Thanks for appreciating things in the spirit they were intended.
also, glad you got to see how 'classy' texas is with the water bottles. lol
My wife and I were at that game(we are GA fans and traveled there from GA). That was truly an incredible game to experience for a first time CFB game! Glad you guys had fun. The people in Austin were very friendly to us, even in our GA gear.
It's a big game, but it's not THE big game.
@@operator0Big Games in CFB are not to be confused with Rivalries, which are The Games for Fans. But all of it is passionately loved, especially in The Deep South.
@operato0 I bet You’re that ‘one up ya’ guy at the party aren’t you?
Lived in Austin for 10 years. Used to cook for the UT Football Club during football season. We would feed 5,000 people on game days. Worked 16 hours those days.
Thank you. I was a Cheerleader at Texas. There is nothing like the Longhorn games. I am thrilled that you had a good time. We love showing others WHY we love our university. It is a VERY difficult university to get in to. You have to be in the top 6% of your high school to get in. So, we worked hard to get there. I live in Dublin Ireland and I miss these games. But I am a Longhorn for life. And Austin ain’t too bad, huh? Fun place to study. Hook’em Horns- WE ARE TEXAS 🤘🧡🤍
Love y’alls channel and I’m so glad you got to experience SEC Football! GO DAWGS!! SIC ‘EM!! WOOF!! WOOF!! WOOF!!
Thanks for beating Texas, it was lovely!

We do so much, and I love it! Go Dawgs! ❤🖤 Glad you guys had a blast, tho’
Loved the video! I will admit that it hurt a little only because I was born and raised in Oklahoma, so I'm a big Sooners fan. Oklahoma and Texas are the biggest rivals!
=] I bet you were thinking, ""All those Big XII trophies sure ain't for football." -- a Penn State alum
BOOMER!
I want to buy their merch just from this video. Greetings from New Zealand. Commonwealth needs to up our game. lol
Your video was an extremely well-done take on the RUclips genre. You two are delightful people and you did pick the most over-the-top game to feature. I'm not sure they could have added anything else and your stop at the end for a what-a-burger and Dr. Pepper shake was a nice step down from the excitement of the game. I have say your videography and editing were spot on. The video never dragged and i never thought "get on with it." Wish you the best in your future efforts. I subscribed so I hope to see them.
I defy you to come to a football game, hear the anthem, watch the planes, and not love America.
We have our problems, but it’s an amazing place with probably the most enthusiastic people ever.
That was the band Spoon playing 8:40 for the Austin City Limits music festival. Awesome band that are from Austin!
That dog passed away shortly after this video, he was a legend in the football community RIP Ben 😢
😢
Very happy for you Two experiencing Our College's Traditions. It goes across the Country from University to University. A very special time of the Year!
Gotta hand it to the Americans on this. Love of country, tradition, patriotism.
Jas I found this channel because of a UK person reacting to it. Just wanted to say that your smile and eye twinkle and accent was everything in this video. Glad that y'all are having fun in he US. Keep smiling and twinkling.
I’m a Longhorn Alum and, despite the loss, I’m glad y’all had such a great experience! Hook ‘Em!
God Bless Texas!!
PS - Austin is my hometown, I hope y’all enjoyed your visit.
I remember watching that game on television. We were supposed to be there, but we had a bunch of stuff come up, and we ended up not getting to go. Great video! I'm glad you got to taste some of our crazy!
Glad you all had a fantastic time! Come back for more when you can!
Glad you got to experience that! College football in the US is all of the hype you got!! 🏈
HOW BOUT THEM DAWGS!! Glad you got to see my 2 favorite teams. Love having new fans join the SEC!
As a long time viewer of your channel, and UGA alumnus, I want to extend an invitation to come to Athens, Georgia to see the Bulldogs play at home!
Definitely has to be Dawgs Bama or Dawgs Texas!
Maybe Vols vs Dawgs!
See you guys again in Atlanta this weekend!
Same. Come see a team that actually wins at home
They'd feel right at home with the English Bulldog and Redcoat Marching Band.
The fans of the colleges are normally welcoming to everyone! That’s what makes it special. I’m a UGA fan living in Louisiana and had gone to the LSU vs Georgia game and partied at the tailgate with LSU fans such a better Gameday and environment then pro sports
Confirmed.. Texas is on my bucket list !! Great video
Unless you go to a game in Philly and watch your team play the Eagles. Don’t wear your teams colors unless you want beer poured on you.

Moved to Austin last November
My first job was at a Texas football game.
Was incredible!
To think this is happening all over USA!

NGL, the best part was the Star-Bangled Banner.
Great video. So glad you enjoyed your trip to the South. Have a Merry Christmas.
We didn't realize how special that time of our life was
I thought Tennessee was TENN
The real fun is on the houseboats.
Y’all seem really cool. Super down to earth. New subscriber now.

It’s easy to lose track of the fact that there’s a top academic university behind all the logo merchandise and the football.
Both schools have high academics. You are right!
And you get an epic flyover? So cool. Goosebumps and teary eyes are appropriate.
This is Texas first year in the
South East Conference which over the past two decades has arguably been the toughest conference in the country.
Texas just got a taste by loosing to Georgia as to what is ahead in the SEC.
Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. American college football is a great and endearing tradition.
That A&M game tomorrow is gonna be mental, the anxiety is real
@ No doubt. Their rivalry is renowned for 130 years.
It is always a classic clash of
titans.

#GoDawgs!!!
Craig, your pronunciation of Whataburger was pretty spot on. 😁
My favorite fast-food eatery. Live near Atlanta and we are just about to get one in my town, so happy.
Great video, but the B-1s going to afterburner at 15:36 was awesome.
Oh man I’m from Australia and I really want to visit Austin and do this!!!
Its not just Texas. You could go to UGA, Alabama, South Carolina, LSU, Ohio State, Oregon, etc...
We all do this every Saturday all over the country. Just pick a night game where two teams from the same conference are playing.
Its even better if ESPN Gameday is there.
Awesome vid. Great to get a Brits perspective of the spectacle. I was looking forward to your reaction to s real Whataburger..the best
RIP Ben Herbstreit 12:25
That’s so cool that you enjoyed your time, and glad you had fun visiting my school!
You should go to a high school game also. Even for teenagers it can pull a crowd of over 1000 and there are a lot of big name high schools in the Austin area.
High schools in many states will have 10-20,000 fans at a game.
Texas HS playoff games often have 40,000+ in attendance. It’s f’n nuts.
I’m a Georgia grad and massive Dawg fan. We’d love to have you in Athens, Ga some time. Glad y’all had fun at a great southern college game.
The dog that you guys saw his name was Ben..he has been the unofficial mascot of all of CFB for last couple of years..he sadly passed away a couple weeks directly after you saw him..😢😢😮😮
If you guys enjoy this Texas home game experience then try to also go to a couple of other SEC home games..Knoxville Tennessee day or night is absolutely SIMPLY AWESOME.!!
LSU a night game is off the chain.!!
Alabama day or night is AWESOME.!!
UGA at night time is cool.!!
South Carolina day or night is also AWESOME.!!
Ole Miss is a cool tail gate gathering with food mostly they lose but still cool place 👍 😮😅😮😅
Great job covering this clip very well done!
You truly experienced SEC football at it's finest. Ever since TAM entered the SEC in 2013 (I was against that at first as I am I life long UGA fan) they have been quite fun to watch and their fans are some of the most gracious SEC fans. They really set the bar high with their tailgating to be sure. A new Team Richey fan is born today! Good luck with all your adventures and stay safe!
100% agree. The best SEC teams and fanbases come from the Big 12. Long live TAMU and Texas-Austin.
@@rfewresmogaj No, no, no sadly TAMU and Texas are not the best teams in the SEC by a long shot but ya'll are fun to whoop up on! But I am correct on the fan base be gracious and fun to hang with. 😆😁😎
UGA all the way! We aims to bring that trophy back to The SEC were it belongs!
Glad you enjoyed the experience always welcomed backt to Texas and no other way to top off the night but with whataburger ❤❤ loved it
So glad to see you could enjoy a real American football game, and in the Great State of Texas!
West coast people are just so calm and chill compared to other parts of the country. We are not as crazy about our sports.
Really well done video. That stadium experience was something else!!
Texas Longhorns football & Whataburger! Hookem Horns!
Great video and what a fun perspective! Glad you enjoyed! Go DAWGS!
