Crocodiles, snakes, spiders, Box and Irukandji jellyfish, Myrmecia Ants, Sharks, Blue ring octopus, stone fish and cone shells kill about 50 people per year....mostly tourists... so us locals are glad we get 9 million tourists here each year to alleviate the probability of dying from all our 'nasties'.

Hilarious and informative! Great stuff! . My wife is always accusing me of letting rip an unwelcome SBD! Usually a case of smelt it, dealt it though!! But sudden branch drops are real and scary. Remember hiking in the Victorian bush. Beautiful day, no wind, sudden loud crash and ear piercing scream from a woman 100 metres behind us who got cleaned up by a large falling branch. Horrible head injury…
A few points, the drop bears thing came about because they get drunk on the Eucalyptus leaves and occasionally fall from the trees. Since we almost wiped the koalas out for their fur not so many incidents. The Sydney funnel web spider is extremely deadly. She also failed to mention the cassowary, a large ostrich like bird, if pissed off, mostly when they are raising young they will try to either kick you with their talons or head butt you with their bony crest, or both. Oh so much more.
