When I came over from UK 50 years ago, I was never warned about our hidden dangers!!! Did not take long to learn that the dangers are there, but only a little common sense is needed to stay alive. Rule one... do not threaten them/.it. Rule two, run quicker than they can!
In reality I have once been threatened by a spider, (it really meant to have a go), and have stepped back from a few snakes. As a non swimmer the water life is no problem for me.

You know when conspiracy theories bite they inveigle their way into popular culture. For example:
Once a jolly PM swam as he smoked a bong,
While he was quaffing on a coolibah cask,
And he sang as he watched as he straightened up his budgie smugs,
“You’ll come a sharing an Uber with me.”
“Sharing an Uber, sharing and Uber,
You’ll come a sharing an Uber with me,”
And his ghost may be heard as he climbed aboard that Russian sub,
“Too late for sharing an Uber with me.”

Since we almost wiped the koalas out for their fur not so many incidents. The Sydney funnel web spider is extremely deadly. She also failed to mention the cassowary, a large ostrich like bird, if pissed off, mostly when they are raising young they will try to either kick you with their talons or head butt you with their bony crest, or both. @@R0d_1984 Ah, yes, trees - those mystical things that grow all over! I actually did some digging (you know, research), and it turns out that certain trees in Australia are extra skilled at the ol' Sudden Branch Drop. Guess that’s what you get when nature keeps it interesting down here! So cheers for the heads-up, Sherlock. Now I’m more prepared for the Aussie experience!

@@alpinealpine2793I work in the bush and sudden branch drop happens a lot on very hot days and all of a sudden you hear is a tree crashing through the bush.
As was said, always be aware when in the Australian bush and don’t think branch drop only happens on windy days.

@@R0d_1984 sorry mate, in future I'll be sure to research and dig into things that I did not even know about. So that I become as smart as you are one day.

@@R0d_1984 no offence taken. I'm 42, only got into hiking this year (and photography), never did it prior to this. Always been into more of an IT dude, cars, other sports. Never thought I'd develop an interest into all this later in life. So yep, never knew all this stuff, never had a father who was into it to teach me all this stuff I should know either ;) I'm learning, open to being taught, open to making friends and having mentors etc.
      Have a good one :)

Loved the humour! So Australia is basically as safe as hiking in NZ? 😊

Thank you! Haha just the same! Except for freedom of frolicking in long grass in NZ, that was nice 😋

Hmmm, one thing though, you forgot to mention the dangers of hoop snakes and bunyips...

Did not mention hoop snakes, ah-well got to have some surprises. One snake that will get feisty is the tiger snake. Born angry and tries to stay that way. Drop bears and Koalas have been known to work together to bring down larger prey. Cute koala is the lure.

At last a video thats accurate. I have to say tho. I prefer any Aussie creature over a Crocodile. Even a dropbear. The old Croc freaks me out a bit. Nice video great editing by the way.

@@danw8012 I’m with you on that one! Crocodiles and their intelligence scare me! I always think the best part about growing up in Victoria was swimming in the rivers and can’t comprehend that you might get rolled up north 😱 Thank you 😀

I always thought SBD was about something totally different. At least, besides from the drop bears and the ferals, we don't have anything that will actually come looking to attack you like they do have in some countries.

I live in NZ and when I holiday in Australia - I don't go hiking. The dropbear risk is too damn high.
