Truly beautiful, very sweet, so lovely, Thank you Hayley & Douge. Every time I watch your channel Hayley, I truly enjoy your content more and more. Love your sence of natural humour. 💛🙏☺️, umesh :)
Hello Hayley - I am new subscriber. Love your blogs, particularly the multi day hikes. My partner and I or just me alone love hiking and we plan to do all the great walks in 2024. Love the above clips especially the catchy tune and your narratives of Mt Ngauruhoe. Its really majestic and is one of the newest volcanic formation. I was looking through the subscribers' comments hoping to find the very key element about this cone, but alas no one seem to connect it to Peter Jackson's LoTR's trilogy's famous Mt Doom. All the best, keep the vlog coming.
Youre the un crowned queen of the best Hiking Video's. Best Filming and Editing ! Of all the channel's! And i like the trip we are shown is not about, showing off youreself. But the adventure of the audence. I bet this channel is about to blow up !
Aww thank you! That is very kind! Haha i'd love to hike and film for a living so I do hope one day this channel would blow up 😛 Thanks for appreciating all the work! 😀
Absolutely stunning landscape and very cleverly shot and edited. I love NZ and always makes me want to get back there seeing trails like this. Great to see Dougie’s positive spirit on his first multi day hike too!
The volcanic area certainly was an eye opener for me! I certainly havnt even made a dint in any of the NZ trails. Haha yeah he did really well, he was a natural!! 😀
Such a great video guys! And a beautiful surprise to see our wedding setup at the Chateau! That’s my red Kombi and can just make out the archway on the balcony 😍🥹
This is such a great video. I've watched it a few times now and Dougie definitely adds to the quality of the video, really like his bit at the end to get out there and try it 👍
Thank you for another incredible video. Your film work and editing was amazing as always! I always come away from your videos excited and inspired to go on a hike 😁 Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to go to New Zealand one day too!
Awesome, awesome video Hayley! Your videography is amazing as always, along with your editing and soundtrack selection! Well worth the wait! Some stunning views along that track, so otherworldly, especially at the summit! Going in reverse was definitely the better choice... well, unless you get blown away, which you didn't thankfully. Dougie is hilarious... loved his commentary. Well done you two... Brilliant stuff! Looking forward to future amazing NZ walks. Thanks Hayley and Dougie.
Thanks so much! Yeah the more I think about it, i'm so glad the weather made us go in reverse, a much better journey!! Haha Dougie definitely adds that very lively on camera personality that I haven't quite mastered. 😛 I knew there would be something funny that would come out of someone not having done a hike before. As always thanks so much for watching and your lovely comments!
I think that was your best video yet. Loved seeing it from two viewpoints too. A well seasoned hiker VS Dougie on his first multi day hike. Such joy seeing Dougie confidence and smile get bigger with each day. Thanks for another inspiring adventure... I can't wait to get back to NZ and test this out. 💕
I think I agree! Although the edit took a while, things seamed to fall into place quite smoothly. Dougie said to me the other day "I think im ready for the next hike" haha we have milford track in January but hoping I can convince on a few more! I hope you can get to NZ soon 💚
My wife and I hiked the crossing in 2004, we did the day trip. Started by climbing Ngaruhoe (3 steps forward, 2 back). The hike up was about an hour, the trip down 10 minutes. Finished the walk and was blown away with the entire scenery, this video beought back some memories. Incredible place and nowhere like it in Australia that's for sure, between Austrlaia and NZ there is everything. Great video well done!
Hi! 🤗 Thank you that means a lot! Editing is definitely my favourite part! I can see that you posted your Tongariro video, I will have a watch on the weekend! Maybe i'll say hi when i'm back in NZ :)
Hello again, Hayley. Did Dougie do any training before the trek? Great video and editing. I loved your little dance at 12:17 So cute. Congrats on reaching the summit, you two.
Hello again! 😊 Nope Dougie did no training beforehand in fact it had been a while. for myself too! He did really well, he even had more energy than I did on the final day! Thanks for noticing my little dance haha! 😄
Haha thanks Matt! Please sell your kidneys and donate the money to my hiking fund so I can quite my day job and hike and film instead 😜 Hope you are well!!
Great stuff, your cameraman did very well surprisingly😂 I need to explore my back yard more often, love how you took the time learn about the history and culture as well, made this video more inviting to watch and be part of the journey, music was great as well i might add 👍
Haha he had more energy on the last day than I did! 😄 Thanks so much for watching. I certainly aimed to give the video a bit more depth by adding in some history/culture. Thanks again :)
absolutely amazing..! glad my little brother will get to experience some of these sights soon..! (he's moving over there shortly) thanks for sharing hope to get over there soon myself..!
Greetings from Romania! I discovered your channel yesterday and, since then, I watched more than 10 videos. The last one was this one, which has an amazing editing. You have great skills, so keep up the great work. Your channel definetley deserves more subscribers. And if you ever consider Europe as a destination for hinking, don't miss TMB (Tour du Mont Blanc, which goes in France, Italy and Switzerland). Probably the most beautiful hiking trail in Europe.
Hello! :) Aww I appreciate you watching not just 1 but 10+ videos! haha 😀 One day I hope to get across the other side of the world! Thank you for the suggestion! 😄
Great video Hayley! You certainly stepped-up your production several notches with this one mate! You and Dougie worked well together too, and the way you incorporate that into the story is superb! Very crafty! Well done! Looking forward to the next ones out of NZ!
Great video Hayley. We did the day crossing a few years ago and this was the start of our love for hiking and we are now loving multi day trips, we have been keen to go back and do this circuit so it was great to see your video, super keen now!!
oooo thats a hard one to answer! I guess they are completely different kinds of environments. Depends if you are feeling like some volcano or some beautiful mountains. I'd imagine the overland might be a bit harder to book. But you definitely have to do both maybe one, one summer and the other the next!
@@settohikea belated response but I have done the overland in 2023 and now I’m at a hostel in Wellington about to head out to do the Tongariro circuit over the next 4 days. Thanks for the inspo!
For New Zealand in some areas the hiking season is usually around October to April. I don't mind hiking when its warmer so my favourite months are December to February. Although areas like Tongaririo can still be cold and windy in summer. :)

Marvellous - Thank you Hayley & Dougie. As a city dweller, if you told me you were hiking on planet Mars, I would have believed you !
"You cheated you used your wings." 😂
Haha I'm still amazed at how long the bird tagged along for :P
Well shot & well scripted…..the carpark scene with Dougie was a laugh…..red crater looked epic😊
I'd love to go hiking with you if you ever need a buddy! I vlog my hikes too :) Your vlogs are so incredible and inspiring too!

Love the way these are edited. Booked the overland track finally and now im back to being obsessed with all things hiking. keep it up!
I loved the video! Thanks for what you do! It inspires me to broaden my hiking horizons :) What's the best time to go hiking in New Zealand?

Good On Yr Dougie . You da man
I’ll pass your message onto Dougie! 😋
I'm looking forward to your video of The Routeburn track, which I did years ago. It snowed in February 🙂
That will be the next hike to be released :) We had perfect blue skies and no snow, so it was great for filming!
Fantastic work, thanks for sharing. Dougie is certainly a character and a welcomed addition 👍
Thank you 😌 Haha if only I could convince him to come on all my hikes.

Amazing video! That land scape looks out of this world. There is nothing remotely close here on the east coast of the USA.
Thank you! Obviously coming from Australia, I had never seen a landscape like it either, so I think that makes this hike even more special!
Marvelous, I'm so glad to meet you guys there. It is an amazing film, good on ya mate!!
It was funny to watch you guys change from tiny dots in the distance to real size people haha. Have fun on your future adventures 😊😊

Great video you have inspired me to go here
My sabbatical to go to Australia and New Zealand got approved. So this hike is on my list.
Nice film Hayley! Surprised that these peaks are not covering by snow in winter.
