You can't tell if paper products have been exposed to moisture?.. it'll swell up and look lumpy.. so with that being said you can tell by the grade.. a paper sleeve that doesn't have the original luster or is deformed due to a moist environment or water damage will reflect in the grade.. and they'll destroy the grade... maybe I'll make a video showing how to tell
When I die I’m sending my body to CGC for grading. I’m expecting a perfect 10 and to be placed next to my entire graded collection. I’m going to haunt anyone who steals my gem mint 10 Mr. Belvedere collection or my awesome gem mint 10 nudie mag collection from 1960s.
I just started collecting and gathering tapes for submission. What i like about the CGC cases over the IGS is that they look like an actual case made for VHS, not some flat stock acrylic cut and glued together. I especially dislike the earlier IGS cases with the "icecicles" on the side of the tapes lol. However I DO like the slimness of the newer IGS ones though. Ive collected cards for years and never liked CGCs blue labels, but they will probably be who I use for my VHS subs simply because the quality of the case looks excellent. Just wish it was slimmer
@homesteadhobbiesandcollect3497 nothing rare at the moment. Mainly some childhood teenage favorites to display. The "best" things I have right now to send are a 1st print no UPC Jurassic Park and a Jurassic Park Marketing Promo Reel. Oldest thing I have is a 1982 Vestron Cannonball Run. Otherwise like I said just some favorites. LOTR, Over the Top, Blade, Rocketman, and plenty of others I haven't gotten yet haha.
Would love a sealed The Dirtbike Kid one day. Need several of the Ernest Movies. Sealed Airborne (the roller blade movie). Sealed The Fast and the Furious. Those are some of the ones I'm looking for that are less "everybody and their brother has them"

The problem with this is that we don't know hows the tape inside de cassette. It could be all molded.
