Jay was so nervous here because he knew what he wanted to do, he just didn't want to risk it. Hailey though, while hesitant, she let it all out, in hopes that Jay feels the same way. God, it was an amazing scene.

he went through this with Lindsey ... and her leaving hurt him a LOT more. he doesn't want her to have regrets ... personally nor professionally. it's one of the most mature things one can do for someone that they truly do care for.

@@dhinton1 I know its only a TV show but the relationships in Chicago P.D are some of the most well written I've seen in any TV show. They have real emotion and weight, they aren't childish and slap dash like Manning and Halstead in Med. Its genuinely impressive to capture the relationships between all the characters, the brotherhood of Ruzek and Atwater and the Father Son relationships between Voight and Halstead also stand out to me. Kudos to the writers!

@@kaylenemc9294 ... many of her words, especially at the end of sentences, are not enunciated at all. No, it is not my hearing, as every other cast member, male and female, (even Alvin) who speaks so quietly, never fail to pronounce and enunciate all the words.

What I've interpret from this show is that with Erin, Jay was completely infatuated with her in the beginning. But with Hailey, their relationship started to build from being partners, they started caring for each other. And without them realizing it, the caring led to love, so deep that they want the other person to be happy, even if it doesn't involve them. So, as much as I was a fan of Erin and Jay in the first few season, I'm hardcore Hailey and Jay fan. I want them to be endgame.

I loved everything about this scene. When she said it's been a long time since i've seen you as just my partner. Chills. That was her way of confessing her feelings. And that gave Jay the courage to push the boundary and kiss her.
I thought their kiss would have been more romantic.

Such a wonderful slow burn. They built this wonderful partnership from the ground up and it has been worth watching it. Totally worth the wait to see this two finally kiss. Love Jay from day one and to finally see him moving on and seeing him happy again is perfect. Go get your happiness Jay, you deserve it.

YES. I love a good slow-burn romance. things happen way to fast in TV shows these days. I love that this show and its writers took the time to really develop the relationship between these two first - partners > friends > unshakeable loyalty > romance

I also love the fact that we finally have a couple in these shows with proper build-up. We watched as they grow together, from pain, through hard criminal cases, trust - to friendship and platonic love, and in the end to total love, truly mature one. This is why please, please, no drama, we want them to be happy!

I don't even know what to say about this scene... from the anxious looks, the smiles, the nervousness, the script and the performance of Tracy and Jesse, it was all perfect!!! This long walk of 3 years here was finally worth it, years freaking out and waiting for this kiss!!! They really love each other a lot, and they both suffered a lot in their lives so they were too scared to take the next step, but their passion for each other overcame the fear and here we are, enjoying this wonderful scene!!! I can't even count how many times I've seen this scene, it's even embarrassing LOL. I just hope everything works out for these two people I love so much, they're the end of the game, and they deserve to be happy with everything they're entitled to!!! #Upstead

This kiss was perfect! Note that they have not yet told each other that they love each other. The producers said it would be slow-burn. For now, in my opinion, apart from this kiss, nothing will happen (sexually) between them, and only later will we see such a true declaration. But for me, this kiss was great - the passion can be overrated, the more so as it is often portrayed in one banal way - the couple lunges at each other and 'eats' each other faces. In this kiss, you could see real, mature love, longing, including yes, passion, but mature - notice how Jay does not stop kissing Hailey after the first, initial kiss, but he kisses her again at the very end, and hold her tightly when the kiss is shown from a different profile.
