Looks great! Your room is going to be so dreamy when it is finished. My hubs just built me some counter tops and we needed the Melamine boards cut. FYI, HOME DEPOT would NOT cut them. He said it was against company policy to cut melamine. We called Lowes and they were happy to cut a sheet up for us. My hubs made me 3 new countertops - super nice and clean looking.
I love the IKEA Kallax units. I have them in several different sizes in my sewing room. Each set of them serves a different purpose, attached to two of the taller Kallax units are tables -- one for my sewing machine, the other for my cutting mat. It is so nice to be able to have everything in smaller spaces so you know exactly what you have! Because of major dust issues, I have my fabric in the fabric bins that fit the Kallax cubes. Each cube is on its side so I can pull it out and see what is stacked in it without having to take it all the way out of the cube slot. That way the dust stays off the fabric but I can quickly find what I'm looking for. Maybe, someday when I have no other sewing to do (hahahahaha) I will modify the bins so they have clear plastic on the side that faces out -- then I wouldn't have to pull them out to see exactly which fabric is inside. My current labeling leaves a great deal to be desired :D
Did you use IKEA products to establish your crafting room? Do you have a video showing how you setup your entire craft room? Would like to see it because I’m trying to design and setup a craft room.
I have been trying to decide about the Ricoma machine. Want to ask if you like it better than the other brands. I see pros and cons in all. would like a professional opinion. I love your new sewing and craft room. So useful. Congratulations.
Hi Yvonne- I absolutely love my Ricoma! The issues that I’ve had have been user error on my part. There is a learning curve, so be patient with yourself. Also, what I like about Ricoma is their customer service and support. They also have a lot of videos on RUclips that are extremely helpful. I looked at a different brand and found out from my dealer that they block you from using certain licensed products, even for personal use. I have Grandkids so that wasn’t going to work for me. That machine had some nice features but the Ricoma was a better fit for me and it was about $7,000 less and came with everything, whereas the other machine did not. I can’t say the name of the other brand but it starts with B and can be purchased from your local sewing machine store. Ricoma is currently having an early Black Friday sale, so now is a great time to get one. Please let me know you have any further questions. I’m happy to help. info.ricoma.com/referral-emb?referralCode=anisa-seibel
How did you install the table top to your cubes? I want to do the same thing but I have the 8 compartment ones and I’m sticking them next to each other.
Do the mallee cubes only come ready to put together, not already put together? I have one that is 4by 4 and I placed a 1 by 4 on top to make 20 cubes. I have the double drawers in 4 and their cloth cubes in 4. I wanted to buy a set of 5 by 2 but they don’t make it as far as I can see on their web site. I love mine. They’re in the spare bedroom in my 2 bedroom Redwood Apartment. I have an Amish made desk cabinet which is becoming the home for my scan and cut, serger, and BabyLock Verve. Hopefully I’ll get it done while I can still enjoy it.
Karen- Yes. They only come ready for you to assemble. They do have a service that can assemble them for you. I hope you get space done soon. It sounds lovely. 😊
@@TheCraftyAuthor My daughter’s original one was 25 squares, 5 by 5. Mine 6 years later were 4 by 4 so I purchased a 1 by 4. I was hoping the 2 by 4’s were still being made.
Omg girl you created my dream crafty room. It's beautiful! lucky you!!! Love the flooring and Brandon's funky crocks. Hmmmm I'm up for a craft party in the near future at your house *wink*

I’m so happy for you.

How did connect all the cubes together? Did you use brackets?
What size is the top?
Looking good
I wish my craft room were big enough for that
