Great way of explaining the instructions !!! You didn ' t miss any steps... You explained everything pricesely..! Clever thinking about the wheels under the shelves so you can bring the table in other rooms if you need it...GREAT!!!! Only one thing. I ' M RUUUNNING to Ikea !!!! Thumbs up for the tut!😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
Great idea using the non slip liner. I am repurposing an old Wal-Mart L-shaped glass desktop so I got the idea to use suction cups. Your Jordan is such a wonderful young man!
@@HappeeKnits thank you. Well make sure if you go with suction cups that you use enough and alternate them-some facing down toward the shelf and some facing upward to the table top.
Wow! Amazing job. A talented young man. You are a proud parent. I have a small apartment. This would be good for me if it was half the size. Given your awesome explanation, I think half could work. The overhang would be greater. Thanks for this fantastic tutorial. 💕
I just stumbled upon this video while looking for sewing ideas. I am a crafter and have recently started learning to sew. I looked at about 100 sewing/ craft tables and never really saw what I had in mind....Until I found your video. It is almost exactly what i was envisioning for my craft room. Also I don’t know where y’all are from but any fan of the Cowboys are good with me! Great job to the both of you.
I would like to let you know that I replicated your table. I am appreciative of you and Jordan creating the u-tube to share your ideas. I am largely using it as a cutting table for quilting. The size and height are perfect. The storage is just amazing and my goal will be to keep my work surface clear. Thank you so much. Marsha
This cool and I am happy you didn't have to drill into the cubbies. Your son makes me laugh with his antics and makes me smile for being helpful. Thank you for this video it made my day, stay safe during these trying times. Hugs from afar. (Utah)
How Happee you made me! The door is a great idea - so much cheaper than the IKEA table. I just completed mine and it looks and works awesome! Thanks so much for your detailed instructions...and agree, Jordan is adorable! Thanks again!
You are adorable ! btw I use a garage hanging fluorescent light over my worktable it simply plugs in. I do curtains so I need it a bit bigger so I might use mdf or similar.
That’s an awesome table. I love Ikea and have a table that I use for my sewing. However, I need more storage and that is a great idea. Thank you for sharing!
Her table came out beautiful, but the price at the end of her finishing it, came out to over $200 and they sell the sew and ready cutting table for $150 or less and it comes with storage which you can fold it down when your done, to have more space. Like in Ikea it's called the Norden table for $199 which comes with the wheels already attached to it and 3 drawers. I like that better because you can keep it open or you can close it. The sew and ready studio has height adjustments, which to me it's better than the Ikea because the Norden doesn't have adjustments and only reaches to 30 inch height.
this is exactly what I want as a table. I saw a pic on pintrest that I wanted to recreate, but a little longer the door you have will work great for me.
i was thinking, if you put a back on each of the kallix units and leave a space between them when you assembled the table you could store longer items in there. it would make the table a little bit bigger by however much storage space you think would be appropriate for you.
So happy to have found your channel. I am going to transform a no longer needed dining room into my design/ tailoring area. This table and the lamps would be perfect for my needs. Thank you for sharing.🌹new subscriber.
Great job you done. I wish I could do that. I like that lazy Susan holder to keep all your tools in one place and that light is perfect too. Enjoy crafting❤️🦃🦃 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
What a clever crafting table hack. I say if you’re going to invest in anything, it has to be versatile, sturdy and do more than one thing. You and Jordan hit on all three and I love that he’s so handy. Now tell me ... when did Jordan’s voice get so deep? 😮 Yikes!
I did not do anything to tje door. It is already smooth. You can seal if you want to. I didnt because my cutting mat sits on top of it and its fairly large.
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much for posting this video. Jordan looks just like you and is so adorable! So nice to help his mother with this project :)
Job well done guys! What a great relationship you and Jordan have and how fun to have been able to work together on this project. This table will be a workhorse for you and hold memories to last a lifetime. If I may say this, it's very nice to see a young boy/man growing up to be a fabulous man. Boys today have so many challenges and voices to listen to. My hats off to both of you.
I like that you thought ahead and put a base of plywood on the bottom. Don’t see that often but it’s necessary for durability. Jordan and you did a wonderful job.
Great video. I really liked the idea of the shelf liner material to stop the bottom and top from sliding. This makes a lot of sense to keep it in separate parts in case you need to move it. The door idea is genius! Your son looks like a lovely young man. 👍
Fun video and I really like the idea of a hollow door as your table top. You are so lucky to have Jordan to help you with this project. Best Wishes to both of you!
I bought the materials to make this and I can’t wait. Instead of the grip roll I’m going to try 3M command strips in the Velcro to hold the units to the plywood and the door to the top of the units.
Hi I really enjoyed the you tube video on the your craft table, but I have a question.. you said the height was approx 36'. How did you you get that much height when the Kallax cubbies are only 24 inches high?? Does the plywood and casters make it that high? Thanks, a fellow crafter from California
You are an absolute genius, thank you for sharing what worked for you!! I've been debating on an Ikea Kallax unit with the table but it would stick out and I need the storage and workspace...this solves ALL those issues, and will sit in front of a big window without blocking it AND I get double the storage space and bigger workspace!!!! You have a new follower and my sincere thanks!!
Great job and such a good idea to use the shelf liners, that would not have occurred to me and It's good to get straight to the point so apology not needed. Also, love Jordan, I caught myself waving back at him and smiling, lovely young man :-)
Awesome idea! My husband built me a she shed/ art room and I am going to show him this. Your son is such a cutie! I love seeing kids help their parents. It’s so rare these days I’m a new subscriber to your channel and looking forward to watching your other videos. Thank You
I've been looking for the right video for how to put together my two 6 cube shelf system and I like that you don't have the shelf systems are not attached to the ply wood base. Thanks
Can't wait to make my own, when I'm settled in a more permanent place. Thank you so much for all the details. Excellent explanation. I'm off to go explore more on your channel!
I'm sure you know this but Jordan is adorable! So good of him to help you with projects.
What a great young man Jordan looks to be. Interested in what Mother does. Regards and success to you both from Australia.
Hi Amanda. Thank you!
Yes, so sweet, love Jordan’s initiative and handiness, and willingness to share in the video. Awesome way to worth together!
I agree 💯%! 💕

Hi Rebecca. How awesome. Thats a great idea!
@@HappeeKnits thank you. Well make sure if you go with suction cups that you use enough and alternate them-some facing down toward the shelf and some facing upward to the table top.
Love the hollow core door! It also makes it easier to move it if you need to in a small space! Jordan is adorable
Yes. I love it!
Wow! Amazing job. A talented young man. You are a proud parent. I have a small apartment. This would be good for me if it was half the size. Given your awesome explanation, I think half could work. The overhang would be greater. Thanks for this fantastic tutorial. 💕
Hi Olive. I love this table. It's my most used asset!
Love the way your son is helping out!
Thank you. He is a big help!
Jordan is the real star of this video. Mamma is a lucky parent
Jordan is a great young man to help you like he does. I'm sure you already know that. Thanks for sharing your table with us
Thanks Cheryl!
Your cutting table is wonderful. You and your son are very resourceful. I may use your idea to build a table for my craft room.
It is the single most used item in my craftroom!
I just stumbled upon this video while looking for sewing ideas. I am a crafter and have recently started learning to sew. Hi Berlynda! We live in the Dallas area! I am glad you liked the video! Let me know if you have any questions. Go Cowboys!!
Great idea on using a grip mat and using a hollow door for the top…And Jordan was such an awesome helper! Thanks for sharing 🙏
You have it all together. Love this table.
Genious!!! Dynamic mom and son duo! Thanks for sharing ☺️
You are so welcome!

Hi Marsha. This makes me so happy! I am so glad you did it. I hope your table brings you as much joy as mine does for me.
I just spent hours looking to buy a decent cutting table. This is so perfect! Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed it!
Glad you liked it!!
I Love the table...thank you for the idea...Jordan you are an awesome son, he is so proud to help mom, how cute!

Hi Dawnea. We recently moved and not drilling into the cubbies came in handy. It was so easy to take apart. Jordan is a goof ball for sure! Lol
How Happee you made me! The door is a great idea - so much cheaper than the IKEA table. I just completed mine and it looks and works awesome! Thanks so much for your detailed instructions...and agree, Jordan is adorable! Thanks again!

This table is my most prized possession. I use it for everything.
Thank you for this super easy to follow tutorial. You and Jordan did an amazing job.
You are so welcome. Its my most prized possession.
Great job...nice video Jordan sew cute. But in the many shots we missed a look at how the lamp attached to the table. Thumbs up! Thank you!
Thank you. Sorry about not getting the lamp attached the the table! It does work like a dream!
Great job! So creative and clever!
Awesome been looking for ideas on how to put my sewing room together
I am glad you liked the ideas. Stay tune for a tour of my craft room.
Hi! So happy to see you here! I love you and Jordan’s teamwork!

This cutting table is terrific and your explanation is very helpful. Just as a side note, we need to start a Jordan fan club!
Wow! You guys did great. Jordon is so cute and what a blessing he is for his mom! This was very inspirational. Thanks to both of you!
Thank you so much. Jordan is a good kid!
Love this! Great work Jordan & mom!
Thank you!
this is exactly what I want as a table. I saw a pic on pintrest that I wanted to recreate, but a little longer the door you have will work great for me.

Excellent choices. Thank you for your video.
I'm loving watching this video. I have three 9 cube shelves and plan to make 3 stations. Love the rollers. Great job!
Awesome! Thank you!
Cute video, your son Jordon is hilarious, good job.
Jordan's a hoot!! I'm looking at this 4 years later and I'm wondering how much this cost to put together back in the day?
You are awesome, ty for this. What a sweetie handyman you have there😃. Can I hire him? Lol. God bless you both.

Hi Sharon. Thanks for watching. Everytime I hear Jordan talk on video, I am amazed at how deep his voice is too. He grew up fast!
Good job Jordan!
Thanks Marilyn
Great job love it❤️
This is genius! Since the door is hollow, do you struggle with any bowing while cutting or crafting?
Its hollow, but it is reinforced so it will not bow at all.
Thank you for the clarity! You’ve inspired me!!
Thank you, love this! Did you use the unfinished door with sanding and sealing?
*without
I did not do anything to tje door. It is already smooth. You can seal if you want to. I didnt because my cutting mat sits on top of it and its fairly large.
I’m following!! Go Cowboys 💯 😂
Yay!!
Would I be able to do this with the wire cube storage unit from amazon?
You might be able to. You would need to see what the meaaurements are
This is such a great idea! Do you remember around how much all these items cost you?
I actually dont remember all the cost involved. Sorry.
Jordan is a pumpkin. It’s wonderful to see how proud he is to help his mom.
Such a great idea to add the shelf liners. I never would have thought of that.l Thank you for sharing ❤️
You are so welcome!

Cutting table? Wargaming table!!!! Wonderful build

Awesome! Please let me know how it turns out. I cant wait to hear!!
@@HappeeKnits I will report back for sure!!!
Im gonna make one simmilar, with 2x3s since i already own one, plus it gives me space to sit with my sewing machine on the side

5years later and I am just finding this. Thank you for your suggestions
So helpful, thank you for all the details you included in this video and Jordan is adorable!
Great idea on the grippers for the base. I was scared to put screws into the bottom of my kallax units!
