ALL THESE PEOPLE SAYING "You may as well not be camping", are full of it. Water & a generator are great features, smart and logical for any emergency along the way or during a camping trip... My last camping trip involved a 4 person tent, it rained really hard I woke up almost under water it was awesome, memories made of adventure, challenge, struggle and testing my fortitude to overcome not bringing power outlets and comfort 😔
I know I'm late but I love your mods here. Great attention to detail and appreciate the attempt to make it look as factory as possible, keeps to the aesthetics of the original design. Great job guys. If only I could get one in Australia.
Just a sick little trailer build. So impressed and grateful at the same time. Great content, great vibe. I can’t wait to do this once my ship comes in. Great info. Thank you.
Subscribed. I like your mods. We've had our Smittybilt Scout Trailer for about a year now and we still love it. We've made some changes and modifications to ours as well. I guess I should put up a video review of our trailer plus our mods. I'm about to add on-board water and wanted to know if you have a kit available yet.
I was thinking there's waay too much electrical dependency in this setup...then you had to bring up the ice cream...done deal need solar ice cream though...good review and nice tent!
The water tank and plumbing will be offered as a kit in the near future. Once we have the kits available, we will have another video detailing the system and installation. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Do you know if you can open the tailgate of a Wrangler while the trailer is still attached? Does the trailer come from Smittybilt with the adjustable rack for a tent? Also, does the rack have a place to mount an awning or is that a mode? Thanks!
Yes, this particular customer uses their tent annex quite a bit. They wanted the additional room underneath the tent when open for changing clothes easily without having to crouch down. This set up allows the tent to be easily lifted when parked in camp, but lowered back down for when you are driving/wheeling in order to keep the center of gravity lower. Another benefit is the BatWing awning is mounted to the same system, so as the tent goes up, so does the awning providing ample headroom when deployed.
daltonsband The water tank is delayed until we receive our first shipment of updated Scouts this month. The drawbar changes on the new Scouts are not compatible with our original design. Instead of making two different kits, the plan is to have one kit that will work with both trailer designs. A lift strut video is being produced next week.
Same question as others....besides the initial cost of the trailer what would the costs be for the same basic set up minus shore power hookups and adding solar power hookups???
twoallame, each trailer is custom built to the owners specifications. The easiest way to get pricing is to send us an email to sales@habitatoffroad.com. We will send you a build list for you to look over and once we have your options selected, we will send you an itemize quote.
Where do I have to go to get my own Smittbuilt custom mod trailer? I like a lot of the mods in the vid, but there are others I would not need or would alter a little. How much do you charge for this stuff?
Hey guys,, was excited to learn more and maybe make a purchase, but nobody is answering emails on your site. Been a week now... What's up with customer service?

Habitat Offroad this is just my opinion but I think most trailers that are built for the US market have the kitchens on the passenger side. It certainly is helpful when you’re pulling off the side of the road for lunch to be away from the traffic. Maybe it’s just a personal preference. You can also see that trailers that are coming from Australia have the kitchen on the passenger side, which is actually our driver side. No doubt the food taste all the same the matter which side it gets repaired, but I was just curious if that compartment had the flexibility to swap sites
Wakita, it is best to contact us at sales@habitatoffroad.com for a build quote. We offer over 50 different options and accessories on the Scout to fit our customers needs. To get an accurate quote to potential owners, we have you look through the list and pick the items that you would want on your personal build.
Jay, thanks for watching our video. We are a small crew trying to build the best products possible. We have multiple systems shown in the video that are in the production phase and will be available in January of 2019. Our goal is to offer the highest quality products at a great price, sometimes this takes a little longer than we would like. Please be patient, great things are coming!
Starting at the 1 minute mark I saw a tiny tyrannosaurus rex sneak behind you. You should be more careful when out in the wild with your nice trailer and mods.

If you would like more details on pricing for a custom, built-to-order Scout, please send us an email at sales@habitatoffroad.com. Thanks for watching!
Ric Powers did our team send you a quote for a custom build? We offer many levels of customization, meeting our customers budget levels. @@63hearseman Naw ..4o years as aircraft mechanic, worked plenty hard all my life. No rich parents unfortunately. But reviewing the vid, the system is just amazing. My last son is off to college soon, maybe i can dream then.
francisco vasquez yea no doubt. The advantage to this type of build is that we can tailor the level of customization for our clients. This helps most people price wise by not getting the systems that you may not necessarily need or want. Customize as you go or your needs change, as opposed to dropping a giant load of cash down at one time.

I haven't really seen anyone fabing rear swing out tire carriers for these trailers. is the a reason for that? is the trailer frame strong enough to support something like that?

What brackets was used to lift the tent higher saw they had struts as well

nice review!!
amazing work on the trailer, impressive
That's a very nice trailer. How is it for use in the cold where there is snow and below freezing temps?
Awesome build. Looking forward to seeing what your shop releases soon.

Lots of smart mods/upgrades. Nice work, thx for the ideas.
Awesome trailer build.
Nice Setup! I dig that gas strut lift for the RTT. Is that stock?
Thanks! We added the gas struts to this build. Makes raising and lowering the tent a one-person job.
Is that just to get the clearance for the extra tent room?
Yes, this particular customer uses their tent annex quite a bit. They wanted the additional room underneath the tent when open for changing clothes easily without having to crouch down. This set up allows the tent to be easily lifted when parked in camp, but lowered back down for when you are driving/wheeling in order to keep the center of gravity lower. Do you sell the struts, if so could you link to them. Thanks
I’m interested in knowing what struts you used also.
Pretty cool
Saw one at Chux, just over $10,000.
Do you guys have a kit for swapping the hubs/wheel lug pattern on the smittybilt trailer so it matches a 2nd gen xterra?
How do you vent the water heater? Leave the door open? Is it always connected to the propane?
Is the water system and electrical system going to be made still??
How much for the assembly and with all the modifications like that? And with the 16 gals water or 24 gallons water tank? Can you make one for me?
It’s April now, January has come and gone. Any updates to the water system?
Can you make a video collapsing the rtt struts?
