    The empty lot next to Express Hotel is where they store incoming and outgoing ride parts during demo and construction.

      It certainly is! But they also own a maintenance shop down the road whose parking lot remains empty most of the time, and just purchased another former car dealership down the road from there that has a large garage. I'd like to think there's the possibility of moving ride storage in those spots. Of course, none of these are thoughts that are meant to be taken seriously. It's just for fun!

    Cedar point already has a ferry service from downtown Sandusky. They have for years. That's why they have that ferry pier on Jackson.

    I like the parking garage idea as well as potentially moving most of the parking off site to reclaim most of the lot. I like your corridor idea that leads up to the main gate and the gate keeper but I would keep bus parking as far back as possible and develop that area into a shopping and entertainment center that could function year around. If that’s not an option do to off season business not being enough to support it than a beautiful green space would also be great. Baring the parking garage idea the only parking I would want on the peninsula would be VIP and on site guest parking for hotel breakers and lighthouse point. I know the previous video suggested moving the camp ground off site and while I’m ok with that it would be a last resort move since I like the idea of having a budget friendly option on the peninsula. I would sooner move cedar point shores off site before the campground and cabins.
    I also like the pier idea extending out from the boardwalk. That entire area could be themed like a classic pier park complete with a Farris wheel and a carnival style experience.

    The park already has a ferry that runs to and from the marina. It departs from Port Sandusky to bring people to the park.

    I like some of your ideas! The parking garage would be interesting, but how about a well secured off site parking area and your idea of a monorail that could shuttle patrons to the front gate! Since Cedar Fair is somewhat reluctant to do a garage on site, this could be a really cool option and give them a whole lot of area to expand! It may not happen but it would be interesting to explore this concept!

    Parking garages are extremely expensive

    • @cedarpointless
      @cedarpointless  5 месяцев назад

      Definitely not going to argue with that one! But so are many of the other projects that amusement park companies do. Multi-million dollar investments are a part of that business model. Obviously, they just haven't seen a parking garage as the correct multi-million dollar investment yet...

    back in the 1940's there was a ferry from Cleveland to Cedar Point. I think Jet Express does limited service to the point.

    why 2 monorails. Have 1 continuous loop and run like 5-6 trains on it

    • @cedarpointless
      @cedarpointless  5 месяцев назад

      Sure! Only issue is that there would need to be space by the park entrance for the monorail to loop around. Maybe around the outside of the parking garage?

    A parking garage will never happen, it’s been suggested before and Cedar Fair reps have said 100% no. IIRC it has something to do with the permitting/planning process. They just don’t want to deal with it, especially since they have lots of off-site parking anyway.

    CP is NOT the greatest vacation destination. Not by a long shot. It’s always crowded, the fast passes mean nothing, there’s ALWAYS multiple coasters broken or shut down, and the water park is the worst one ever. Signed…..Kingda Ka.

    But removing the iconic keyholes that you passed through wouldn’t be a good idea then then then the gatekeeper will be lame and boring ride then. I definitely don’t see Cedar Point removing the keyholes

  • @edaltounian7118
    @edaltounian7118 5 месяцев назад +2

    Never gonna happen. Cedar Fair is cheap. They won't even put a new coaster in Michigan's Adventure. Every coaster it gets (and it's been a while) is used from somewhere else.

    • @cedarpointless
      @cedarpointless  5 месяцев назад

      My experience is mostly with King's Island and Cedar Point, which are definitely among Cedar Fair's favorite children. So I can't speak too much on Michigan's Adventure, but as my brother and I dive deeper into this project, expanding our conversations to other Cedar Fair parks is something that I want to do. And the lack of investment into some other parks is definitely something I'd like to talk about.

    • @edaltounian7118

      @@cedarpointless Cedar point rarely invests in anything besides coasters and rides. Even the theming for their coasters lacks compared to other parks. I don't see them doing any more than the minimum to keep operating.

      @@edaltounian7118 Agreed, even the theming for Steel Vengeance is pretty much gone. Most of the signs are bleached white from the sun. Last time I was there I was thinking, how much cost/effort could it really be to just replace the signs and make the queue look nice again. It already looks used and forgotten.

    • @chadmorris946

      Except that they are not cheap just smart. Michigan's Adventure is a water park that happens to have a dry side to it. The park is in the middle of no where and doesn't justify spending money on a coaster.

Not counting rides but CF has spent close to $200 million plus on non ride investments.
