I'm glad to see Cedar Point really embracing its own history more. Historically it was a weekend beach side resort without rides before becoming an amusement park but by the early 1900s it had become essentially a gigantic boardwalk amusement park. I think that really ought to be the image it projects. I like the idea of Cedar Point being sort of a classic boardwalk park on steroids. Something that feels like Coney Island in its hay day but that has extreme thrill rides to keep it modern and interesting. I would love for them to go further with this.
I've been so fortunate -- for the first 20 years of my life Cedar Point was my home park, and for the last 30 years Magic Mountain has been my home park. I was at Cedar Point last October. I love both parks so much. Thanks for this update, Coaster Studios!
Seeing those footers for the TTD spike reminds me hearing that when they built the original tower, they covered up the footers for a season. Apparently they’re not being so secretive this time!
I love all the changes when I was on the top floor for Grand Pavilion I was stunned of how crazy the views are especially for the whole Boardwalk section and GateKeeper. Also Wild Mouse is a cool, fun edition and actually smooth.
I'm so impressed with the quality of your videos. You can tell you do a lot of work before you even step foot in the park. I think maybe experience has a lot to do with how good your videos are, but really, there's some talent here too. Thanks for the inspiration. Those footers in the ID queue are enormous. I can't wait to see what they will hod up.
There was another thing I noticed on my visit a few weeks ago that perhaps you didn’t see… the museum is closed and is apparently being used for storage. Kind of a bummer because I really enjoy the history aspect of CP and that was a cool part of the park.
Got to see you all while leaving maverick for the last ride of the night, shout out Coaster Studios! Park is just as great as ever, four walk ons on Steel Vengeance made the day and the boardwalk/wild mouse is a nice addition for the family crowd here. Can’t wait for the dragster update next year!
I've never looked at a Wild Mouse and went "heck yes, I want to ride that!" The new boardwalk looks like a super fun area. Can't wait to get over there.
The shot at 12:03 clearly shows all the original supports for the launch track were left in place. Everyone seems to be hoping for some kind of an airtime or bunny hill in the area of the launch - similar to Pantheon. This seems unlikely given the supports are still in place. Not to mention that adding a bunny hill in that location would also change the load on the footers for the same supports, and they don't appear to have poured any additional footers in that area.
FYI...The Calypso has always been there, they just pulled it because it was a duplicate of Tiki Twirl in the park. So, CP used to have a few different rides in the park that were the same, but in different areas of the park, so there were more rides available. For instance, they had a Trabant ride and a duplicate in the park in that area that was the same ride, but themed differently called Schwabinchen
It’s not just cedar point. Kings Island, Carowinds, Canadas Wonderland, and sort of Kings Dominion also receive much more love than other parks in the chain.
Just went yesterday and the boardwalk is such a good area and wild mouse is a great family coaster, also got a night ride on maverick and steel vengeance
Just went for COASTERMANIA! I miss wicked twister but the boardwalk is awesome so I’m happy something good went in its place. I am also disappointed about the lockers. You used to be able to rent them for 1 hr for $1 but now it’s a minimum of 2 hrs for $3. As a local, it just feels like cp is making more and more greedy decisions each year which is dissapointing :(
I went for the first time 2 weeks ago for my Senior trip! I got to ride all the rides except the wild mouse, but I loved this park, hope I can go back one day when dragster is done!!!
Y’all should swing by Carowinds and take a look at the new Aeronautica Landing area. It’s beautiful! Not many other changes to the park but with the new flat rides and themeing, it adds a ton of kinetic energy to an otherwise dead section.
Great Video of CP! Makes me want to go back. Grew up going there haven’t been back since moving to Florida. The Boardwalk looks amazing and really ties the beautiful beach to the park. I think a lot of people don’t even know they have a beach lol 😂 I remember they used to Have a Dolphin show Oceana that was removed for wicked twister. And now it is gone. Their shows are incredible too. Do they still have night show Illuminosity? If they do you should put in your next video 😊😎
I’m surprised you didn’t say anything about all the railroad merchandise they’re selling this year. They literally have a Lionel model of one of the locomotives.
We went in May as well, and immediately noticed the change in locker prices. The all day one is 12 bucks instead of 10. It's ridiculous considering an all day rental is only 5.00 at KI. Cedar Fair owns both parks, so why the huge difference?
I am stoked as cuss for the new version of Dragster!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I first rode it, I thought it was the best coaster in the world, and I stand by that!!! Now, 2024, this coaster is going to be legen-wait for it……dary!!!! Legendary!!!!!!

Wild Mouse was pretty good, and it seems that all of the flat rides also gained their own soundtracks to go with their theming, which I didn’t notice before on rides like Calypso and Matterhorn. Even Scrambler seemed to be upgraded
