The problem i had after bench bleeding is my system was completely dry its a whole new system and bubbles came back up through the master cylinder during the bleeding process so it needed to be removed and bench bled again. When installed in a car like the one in the video where the master is at an angle its impossible to get the air out in the car. The best is actually pointing the front of the master cylinder down slightly while bench bleeding and that allows air to escape. Mines on a jeep and it doesn't have that steep of an angle but its enough of an angle and when bubbles came back up through the system it trapped some in the end of the master cylinder. I got the whole system to bleed with no air coming out but still have the soft pedal, originally i thought it was trouble due to my cutting brake setup and the extras there but as soon as i did a little research and found an explanation describing how air escapes the master cylinder and why bench bleeding is so important i knew my problem was with the air that came back up through the master cylinder and a little got trapped because of the angle.
@xzibit82 Since the Wilwood 4-piston calipers require a high volume of fluid, we recommend using either Wilwood master cylinder, part # 260-8556 or 260-4893, both of which should bolt up to your factory firewall mounts. Be sure to check the height and length dimensions of each to ensure they will fit in your engine compartment. Both of these master cylinders are available at SpeedwayMotors. com. Feel free to call our Tech Line at 800.979.0122 if you need further assistance.
Why didn't they tell us how long the bench bleeding process should take, or how to stop air from getting back in the master cylinder when the bleeding tubes are removed?
