    Found a safe 3-4 + of ice in west central Minnesota and took a bucket of sucker minnows out for a swim with ‪@ndyakangler‬ Ice Fishing early pike and bass in Minnesota has been our target the last couple of years and the action is always hot.     Do you think your tackle is too heavy in spring to fall? I watch most of your videos and greatly enjoy them. However, it seems like the big fish you catch like pike never fight for more than 20 seconds before they are landed. It seems like the ice fishing is much more fun because the tackle is so light.

      A lot of it has to do with depth/distance/lures. You're not going to pull most pike in from 30 yards away out of summer weeds and hard runs. We're basically sitting 10 feet on top of them straight up but we are running medium rods with braid, most 4lb mono wouldn't last on the pike

      Sorry I don't, not sure they make them anymore but I would highly recommend getting one if you can find one. Hands down my favorite ice rod!
