You, TyPigPatrol and Richard Gene are my favorite Saturday morning shows. All three of you fish because you absolutely love it. No thrills. No major sponsors. No clickbait. Just three men who love the sport of fishing. Thanks for the videos, Matt. ✌🏻
typigpatrol kinda pisses me off with how much he long arms his fish in the thumbnails, it’s so unnecessary bc he catches hogs all the time anyway. imo that’s some of the worst clickbait
Great video, Matt, it looks like the scum frogs really paid off, and who would have guessed that a Gnome with no legs, hey we could make a song out of that, you know like " A Horse with no name", would top the board for biggest fish! Anyway, we thank you so much for taking us along! Please be safe and take care!
Great Saturday start...cup of coffee ☕️ from Door County up north, fishing obscure bait themes vicariously up north with Matt...yep another dandy. The travel sites should have him doing commercials. The gnome was king 🤴 even without a tail. Like putting custom ones on my frogs.
Cottonwoods blooming, the bass are biting. I don’t know how much “fluff” I’ve picked off my line and top waters in my life, but it’s worth it! I ordered the pliers and the frogs from your link…just to say thanks for the content.
Its always great to see you out on the water brother. I cant think of a single one of these types of videos youve made where you havent been able to get a fish on one of these gimmick lures. Keep it up buddy! Hope to see 500k subs soon!
The best start to a day: *COFFEE* 1) Blue sky 2) "Well hello there, friends!!" - Chef Jean-Pierre 3) "Welcome Back!" - Kelly Galloup 4) "Howdy Everyone!" - NDYakAngler
I can empathize with the CWFF (cotton wood fuzzy float) experienced in this video. I have a favorite lake in Michigan that I travel to a few times each year where this is a real issue. If there is a healthy breeze, it helps push this stuff to one end of the lake, but it is miserable if not impossible to fish with a buzz bait or a whopper plopper when this fuzzy stuff is on top of the surface!
YES ONE MORE CAST Here's a FISHING story for you. It seemed like every cast.I caught BASS Had such a good time. I did it for 18 and a 1/2 hours. I know this because my wife let me know when I got home. She was so proud of me. The whole neighborhood knew how proud of me she was.😅😅😅
I did the ole "one last cast" the other night with a Rapala Skitterpop, brown frog pattern....put a nice 5lb smallie in the boat. I was about to pack it in and head home, just had to take another shot at it. Funny how that happens so often. Next thing I knew, another hour had gone by. Lol
The scum frog Launch frog has become my go to frog the last couple years. Great colors, soft body, great hookup ratio. Plus the flat bottom makes it sit flat on top of vegetation so it doesn't roll on its side and hang up in stuff.
I love your videos! You should definitely do more catfishing, I recently went out and caught quite a few using chicken breast soaked garlic salt, and grape and cherry kool-aid. It'd be interesting to see how they like it up there. Great work and keep up the amazing content!
A most entertaining video, especially after my bittersweet topwater fishing yesterday. I lost a monster bass that tore off the rear treble hook of my Rapala Skitter Prop. Just about the same incident with this Rapala lure happened to me seven years ago and also with a monster. I was raging. Then two other big fish followed that shook off my lure. I was even more frustrated. It seemed as though an evil spell (once more) had been cast on me. But luckily I eventually was made up with a 1,520 kg specimen on a Savage Gear snake and my spirits were lifted. This video is proof that preference for some specific features on a lure is oftentimes rather inside the angler´s head rather than the fish´. I don’t usually use the frog lure. I caught a couple of big bass on it six years ago and that’s all, and besides I think they were reaction bites. Surely I should try it more.
Always enjoy the videos...YakAngler must put in the miles drive to his fishing spots...when and how does he find the time enjoying his family ..between his job...making and editing videos..he is an iron man for sure...thanks for the time in sharing.
It’s at least an hour drive each way to most of the spots I fish. It can make for some long days but I like being on the road once I get away from city traffic.
Very nice. WHAT a day. But... The cow at the end? You said 18 and. But it looks like 17and. So much fun. Thanks for sharing this with us. Kepp working on your base ( tan)
The thing i always find funny about most topwaters is that behind all the flash and charm, they nearly all have pretty much the same silhouette which is pretty much all that matters to the fish most days.
I was throwing top water one day, no bites for over 2 hours. I threw the butt of my cigar in the water and a bass came up and inhaled it in a split second. Go figure
You're not wrong. I can't tell you how many times fish have come up to take a swipe when the topwater isn't doing anything but laying a silhouette. And cigars are pure tobacco....maybe work on some homemade baits that look like an,Alec Bradley or Macanudo 😅😅😅😅
Had to chuckle a little about complaining about the cottonwood fluff, I'm dealing with a quarter inch of it right now up here in Palmer, Alaska. Cottonwood is a scourge :)
Man those fish got bigger & bigger as you were catching them !!! That one lure had the look of Santa Claus on that 1 side of it it was funny to see the Grumpy Old Man on the other side haha giggle !!! Thanks for fishing today I really liked it a lot !!!
Hey bro, Adam here big fan from Ireland, thank you for documenting your journeys on the river. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to do this for us. I'm big into fishing, over here we have massive pike and beautiful trout. Unfortunately no cat fish to catch :(. Thanks for the content and I hope you've a great day brother. Fish on!
That last catch reminded me of a stressful frog unhooking from last year. When I picked the fish up, the frog came loose inside its mouth and apparently this bass was not like most others because it decided to try to swallow the frog. I grabbed the line just in time to prevent the second hook from going past that sphincter, but I had to spend a good few minute carefully getting the other hook out of its throat WHILE keeping the line taught because it continually tried to finish swallowing the lure. So strange for a fish to try swallowing as it is being held out of the water.
Waco,TX...you've got me pissing in my pants fishing with those assorted " OLLIES " Quality lures. Ignore those so called PRO's ...just watch you , learn ,laugh , then go fishing !
Another excellent video - thanks, Matt! I wonder if the other frog baits would be better if the drain holes were slightly enlarged? I think I'll try it! Maybe even a drop or two of crazy glue to keep the body from sliding up the hook on some of them? Hmm!
These Scum frogs seemed to be well weighted where they sat almost vertically in the water. I think that helps to keep water from going into the larger hole, the air trapped keeps the water out. Even with the legs gone and two extra holes there at the bottom water stayed out. I’m not sure if it would work as well with other frogs but it might be worth a try.
If that snapping turtle had actually gotten that frog, it would have been quite a show getting it back. Especially with all fingers intact. Take care and thank you.
I lost one of my favorite Storm Rattlin' Chug Bugs to a huge snapping turtle once. Accidentally landed it right in front of it and it slammed it, nearly ripping the rod out of my hands. Waited 20 minutes trying to see if it would let it go, but no dice....it finally got tired of messing around and just snapped off my Spider Wire braid like it was 4lb mono. Bye bye, Chug Bug, you served me well.
If u like the big foot from scum frogs. The legs get ripped off a lot. Blitz frogs sell replace legs that fit the scum frog great. Just a small dab of glue
I have used Scum Frog lures for years and they are every bit as good or better than the ones that cost twice as much and have more realistic graphics. The recent trend of super premium lures, especially Japanese ones, that cost $20, $50 or $75 or more is absolutely ridiculous. The misplaced egos and vanities of fools who spend that much on lures will drive up the prices of more reasonably priced lures to the detriment of all anglers.
No kidding. Anything with "Musky" written on the package requires mortgaging the house these days too, and yet I've caught as many of those when just out throwing top water for bass over the years. Crazy prices nowadays, even plastics are rediculously priced.

I've gott say, I've been watching your channel for several years. And you still get some of the sickest top water eats ever. Good stuff, man!
Happy Saturday morning Boys may you all be blessed!
Scum Frog forever. Best frogs ever made. Half the fun is making your own skirts for em! Get some bright red and green and lean into the gnome theme!
Awesome catches today Matt and all 3 lures worked perfectly :)! Thanks for taking us along! See you next adventure!
I love the… sense of humor… in your occasional choice of bait.
Fun fact, the number one predator of garden gnomes are Bass, that’s why they swim so rarely
Matt, you are looking to hit 500K subscribers soon. Thank you for taking us along on another great video.
Scumfrogs are my favorite. The launch in bullfrog and sloppy toad patterns specifically. Great video as always.
These lures will now be "gnome" for how affective they are on finicky bass. Great video Matt as always.
Teasing the turtle....sounds like something totally inappropriate 😂
Only to the morally bankrupt.
You tease yer turtle on yer own time fella, this here is a family place

Cottonwood fluff is one of the things I DON'T miss about living in Minnesota
It seems like it’s everywhere here the last couple weeks!
Look forward to your videos on Saturdays like I used to get excited for cartoons on Saturdays as a kid!
The way you release them is just lovely. Most of my releases are awkward and mainly because I shore fish. Thanks for the awesome content!
Yeah it’s tough to get a good release and keep your feet dry at the same time shore fishing! Even when I have good rocks to stand on it’s difficult.
You have a good catch average on frogs. Good job. You provide some exciting fishing trips for several different species. Thank you.
The locations that you fish are so pristine and your videos are so entertaining thanks for taking us fishing with you!!

Bass season finally opened in Ontario last week and I got out! First time really using the choppo and wow did it work. Thx ND!!!
Looked like you had some fun! Thanks you for sharing!!
