I don't care how much blood, chases through the forest, jump scares, or gore a filmmaker puts into a movie, NOTHING is as creepy as Annie Wilkes and NOTHING is as horrifying as that sledgehammer hitting.
Ha ha try the book she saw 's his leg off 😆😆👍🏼👍🏼
nice handle
@@johngraham9085 Don't forget the electric carving knife. Yikes!
i flinch everytime, and ive seen this movie at least a dozen times in my life.
It's too brutal.
I skip it every time >.
Kathy Bates took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in this movie
Brilliant actress. I'm so glad this one got her that recognition. I get so happy to see her name on a movie.
Deservedly so, still can't understand how Jack Nicholson didn't even get a nomination for his role in the Shining?
Annie Wilkes (Kathy Bates) is by far the most terrifying and scary woman in the history of cinema! The only 2 other characters I can think of that scared the crap out of me...maybe Regan, played by Linda Blair from Exorcist (it was actually the devil though). The other is the Wicked Witch of the West played by Margaret Hamilton, from Wizard of Oz (that was probably because I seen as a kid).
Well-deserved too! But she was even better in Dolores Claiborne!
@@centuryrox I looked her better in Misery, but she was great in both
@@anthonyzarate9807 There's a really creepy bitch in the movie, "Orphan." Freaky movie and the girl is pure evil.
Misery is based on a book by Stephen King. When Stephen King saw the finished movie, he was so impressed with Kathy Bates' performance that he wrote a new book with Kathy Bates in mind to play main character in the film adaptation. That book/movie is called Dolores Claiborne. You should add it to your list of movies to watch.
Love Delores Claiborne so much!
Yes, that was an excellent movie as well!!
Another great film. Yes!
When they interviewed her mother following her Oscar win, they asked her how difficult it was to watch her daughter act so bipolar and crazy. She replied with something like “No, that’s just Kathy.”
ohhh no!
i would have run away so freaking far after hearing that!
You guys are the best reactors. You’re both so naturally funny and excited. You may not know it, but you bring a lot of people joy and a means to escape.
I’m you’re number one fan… 🤪
thank youuuuu!!! those comments really means alot to us!
hahaha I see what you did there. Nicely done. :P
You two are so fun to watch. I love Marion. He's so funny with his reasonings.
thank youuuu
What a great movie and cast… did you notice that the editor is played by Lauren Bacall? She is a legend.
Love your candid reactions to such great movies as "Misery." Yes, Kathy Bates won a well-deserved Oscar for this role. Unusual for a horror-type movie role.
Yup... these two are so cock-a-doodie great!
'He gave her cliffhangers!' such a good observation! Another fab reaction, your banter is so funny
5:28 “Oh… that’s it. Game over.” 🚫😂
Her *niceness* is quite terrifying!
hard to believe that this same director did The Princess Bride… and Spinal Tap!
Finally you guys have watched one of my favorite movie classics..Kathy Bates earned that Oscar for best actress
The universal reaction to when she spills the wine 💔
I am so glad I found your channel 😂😂 You two are so funny!!
R.I.P. JAMES CAAN
I laughed when she said at her Oscar receiving "and I publicly apologize for the ankles!" XD LOL!!!
30:34 "Demons don't die that easily"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
yea hahahaha
RIP JAMES CAAN
The book this is based on is even more insane. I won't spoil anything but it goes into alot more detail of how messed up everything is.
Blowtorch...😵💫

Great film, fantastic performances from Kathy and James. Entertaining reaction! 👏
Kathy Bates won an Oscar for her role. You should watch her acceptance speech.
Another claustrophobic thriller where the protagonist is confined inside a building is WAIT UNTIL DARK. With the lovely Audrey Hepburn. Through a series of events in the prologue, a doll ends up in a blind woman’s basement apartment. It is stuffed with heroin and three crooks want it. What starts as a hustle gradually evolved into a nail biting battle of wits. And there is a jump scare in the climax; makes your heart leap out of your chest like Misery
Love you guys! It's funny to see James Caan who often plays men with tempers (like Sonny in The Godfather and the dad in Elf) have to play a man who must restrain himself not to get killed by a psychopath.
He's gonna take one big power pill... And run!
😂😂 I would've loved to have seen that.
Like Pac-Man!
@@carm3d Set it to Benny Hill music and I'm in! :)
Many claimed Misery was the first horror movie that an actor won an academy award for best performance. Misery is much more a suspense-thriller than a true horror film. But whether it's called a suspense-thriller or horror film Bates owned that role and she deserved to win.
No disrespect but it's strange how (not you personally 🙂) people seem to rush to describe a film as anything other than 'horror', as if that mantle alone somehow lessens the film. I know there is a snobbishness when it comes to horror films, especially with the Academy, that's why very few have been nominated (with the exceptions of 'Psycho', 'The Exorcist', 'The Omen' and 'Carrie') but that seems to have been wearing off since this and 'The Silence of the Lambs' earned statuettes.
That's not true. Fredric March won an Oscar in 1932 for his role in the horror movie Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
And Misery absolutely is a horror film.
30:42 love this and the entire reaction. Great job you two😂😅
The movie was filmed chronologically to build up the tension between Kathy Bates and James Caan. It worked!
Marian and Joy, I'm your #1 fan!!! 😆
Also in the book, Paul hid the real copy of the book he wrote under the bed at the end, only burning a pile of blank pages with a page or 2 with words on the top of the pile
"I don't think even now she is dead" 🤣
Neither did I!
Great reaction! You know James Caan who played Paul played Sonny in The Godfather.
Damn you have to press pause at 20:28. this is my new phone wallpaper. 😂😂😂😂
I love the reaction and can't stop laughing. 😆👍
When I watched this first time.. the ending with the burnt paper had me in stitches 😁🤣😅🤣😅🤣
He's so incredible the way he delivers that line! Eat it you Sick, Twisted FUCK!! Hilarious!!
I was fortunate enough to see Bruce Willis in the live Broadway show of Misery several years ago. It wasn't exceptional, but I'd have watched it a dozen times over if I could, cause it was still really cool. The hobbling scene was done exactly like in the movie, though with one really goofy looking hiccup, in my opinion.
You two are genuine, funny, smart, intriguing.
In the novel, Annie used a hatchet (a small axe). The ending was better in the novel, too.
But this was still a masterpiece of film.
scary still!
This guy. Man, he got the catchphrases man. He should sell shirts. That "Game Over" he says is catchy. 5:30- So freakin catchy.
You two are so funny and cute together, I just love you both 💟 Thanks for sharing you cinematic journey with us! I'm enjoying watching this channel.
For this film Kathy Bates won an Oscar for best actress. Thank you guys great film and great reaction excellent👍👍
she was phenomenal!

For more of the wonderful Kathy Bates, watch Dolores Claiborne (1995), and Fried Green Tomatoes (1991).
Thanks lovely couple. Totally enjoyed your reaction!
Kathy bates is like Jack Nicholson…no one plays crazy as well as they do.
I LOVE this movie!
"I forgot to mention . . . SHE'S A VAMPIRE!"
Great movie reaction you both are great at what you do keep it up.👍 At the fight scene at the end hearing you calling her a demon got me laughing out loud 😆😆😆. Love your reaction videos

Lol at “Double Tap”!
yeaa we watched a zombie movie.. forgot the name.. this guy had a rule
''always double tap'' just to make sure they wont get up haha
I noticed a New Mexico license plate in the background, so I'm assuming you live here. I live here in N.M. myself.( Santa Fe ) I watch you both ALL the time, and it's good to know that we've been neighbors the whole time.👍🙏

Double Tap, devils don't die easy!🤣😂🤣😂!
R.I.P. James.... July 6, 2022 😭
Hulu has a show called Castle Rock, the second season tells about Annie when she was younger. It's really good.
Obviously, it is about the craziness of a fan, how much a reader/viewer can be influenced and taken over by fiction. How much we do care for fictional characters and stories. But also the writer himself is getting captivated and ironically, Paul Sheldon will write his best Misery book under such horrific circumstances. The movie does not show this that much, but in the novel we follow Paul into the world of Misery and it is clear, that writing that special story saves his life. He did not destroy the Misery book, just pretended and burned other papers.
In the book , Annie uses an axe to chop off his feet . And the sheriff doesn't die with a shotgun to the back. In the book , Annie runs the sheriff over with a snow plow machine and chops him into pieces . But the director said he didn't want to put that into the movie because the audience wouldn't be able to handle it . Also if you notice the camara angels , most were filmed from bottom to top looking at Annie . The director wanted to put the audience in Paul Sheldon's place and feel the fear he did .
Marian's theory of why Paul was keeping all the drugs had me laughing! Love your reactions guy's.
I was wondering if his legs were really that messed up in the crash. All he really knows for sure is he woke up and they were in splints. All he has is her word that it happened in the crash.
great adaption of great stephen king novel bates won a well-deserved oscar for it⚛
Im your Nr 1 fan 😉.
awww thank youuuuu!!
ur subscribed for 2 years!!!
I swear, you two are the cutest.
I love movies especially classics from 1930's , 40's and 50's. I wanted to tell both of you how much I enjoy your reactions. I watch other reactions videos but I sincerely look forward to yours. Goodbye Mr. Chips, Wuthering Heights. The Women, Auntie Mama, I remember Mama, His Girl Friday, Little Foxes, Ball of Fire, Sorry Wrong Number, Picnic, so many more. Thank you so much for your videos.
Annie "I put two bullets in my gun one for you one for me" Joy " Shoot yourself first"😅😅, Thanks to you both great reaction as always.
What a performance from her. Bravo.
Having read your T-shirt Marian, I'm going to listen to David Gray's Sail Away and Enya's Orinoco Flow.
If you haven't listened to either then please do but just keep doing what you do.
Best wishes from Scotland to you, your family and everyone else, be well, cheers 🍻❤
This movie ranked at #12 in the 100 scariest movie moments on Bravo, Happy Halloween guys

Great reaction 👍🏻
What a coincidence, i just watched Dolores Clairborne yesterday and thought of recommending it to you. So just adding to the requests already posted: please, Dolores Clairborne.
Kathy Bates is a marvelous actress.
Great job!
James Caan from Thief, godfather, Alien Nation, etc. His Boss is old school Hollywood royalty Lauren Bacall!
One of my favorite Stephen King adaptations
A similar movie to this is The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. Scary stuff.
4:21 marian's spidey tingle
King said after his bad car accident he got addicted to pain meds. They were his Annie, he couldn't write. But he quit them and wrote Misery. Annie is the personification of drug addiction.
I'm your number one fan.
Just wanted to tell you that I am your number one fan. 🔪
✌️
4:25- You freakin right. 5:12- You see it now right? Well, brace for impact later on. 14:03- Sorry to get your hopes up buddy. 23:08- Sorry for what ya'll are about to see.
She reminds me of my mom. I wish I was joking.
In 1996 I think, Stephen King actually got into a car accident in Maine. The running joke was "Stephen King got into a car accident in Maine recently. The good news is he's alive, the bad news is he was picked up by Kathy Bates."
lol double tap!
One of my favorite films.
LOS AMO THE GRATE MUVIE THE CULT O👌🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
I want to see Marian breakdown The Prestige.....Game Over 😂
we did The Prestige already!
but is not on youtube i guess...
will upload soon!
Kathy was great in Titanic too.
"I forgot to mention, Misery's a vampire" 😆😆😆
This story comes from one of my favorite authors. Stephen King., with one of my favorite long time actors James Cann . Co staring with Kathy Bates. A no miss movie.
I would've loved to see him take that power dose and do a run for it, with the crazy baitch chasing him😂
"You always Hurt the one you love"✌️❤️ 🤣😂
Suspense is the word you're looking for.
5:27 😂
i love you Paul
oh no that's it
your mind, your creativity that's all i meant
yeah yeah
man your in trouble you dont even know it
=)))))
"It's for the best"! I always used to use that line
Another good Kathy Bates movie - totally different character, is Fried Green Tomatoes.
Finally! I'm first!
1. A mustang isn't a very good vehicle to drive in the snow.
2. Red flag #1: Anyone that says "Oogie"
3. The way she responded to the fire in the BBQ pit when he threw a match on the book:
What do you expect?
4. In the book Annie chops his feet off (not just hobbling him). It IS Stephen King after all.
5.Kathy Bates won Best Actress Oscar.
6. Rob Reiner is a great director but, it's too bad he's a CPF.😭🤬
7. King wrote this because of an internal fear of what "Number 1 fan" might do.
8. RIP James Caan 😇
