There's nobody on RUclips going anywhere near these deep dives you've done. There are thousands of "kit installers" (which is fine and helpful for the level most people will take a small engine) but you're definitely a master among the crowd. I've decided that if I was to go for a full on race built notor you'd be the only call I'd make. Great work and props for teaching at the same time, that's not always easy. Also I'm always glad when guys aren't too full if themselves to show their old welds. Too many creators act like they were born with a tig torch in their hands and it makes it discouraging when us regular mortals look at our beginners beads and think we'll never get there.
Not even close. 10 bucks for a pound of filler rod and like 30 bucks of 1/4 aluminum plate. If you can weld and have time its more than worth it. Who makes a billet predator or gx200 block?@@mikesomewhere7214
Nice job paul. Im a welder 40years you do a decent bead mister lol especially since that's Chinese aluminum your welding who the hell knows what's in it. Cleanliness is the biggest thing about welding aluminum and proper settings of course nice work
Funny enough the cast uses in these Chinese motors weld’s really nice, it’s a little dirty but some acetone helps that but it’s wets out really nice and you don’t have to use that much heat
You should make your templates out of plywood or aluminum so you dont have to make a template for every motor. Reuse them. It might pay to have a big batch of them put on a cnc machine so you dont have to make them.
Lifan has always had beefy blocks. If your going small block the tillotson reinforced blocks are the best bang for the buck now. Still can use welding if going over 250cc but lots of people use them I welded and so far I have never had a report of failure. How long they can withstand the beating is yet to be seen since there k my about a year old now. If going over 250cc I’d recommend welding the block no mater the brand
Skip weld that . Weld 2" skip 2"s because that way to much heat in that block plus if a long weld Starts to crack it will crack all the way but a skip will hold until the weld can be repaired
Do you have to sleeve the block with ductile steel sleeves or is the stock cylinder fine as is? Also do you o ring the block or the head for this type set up or just run copper head gasket? And I'm sure u use arp studs but are they stock size or do u use fatter studs just wondering.??
100% mandatory to ridged hone ( not flex hone ) to straighten. I re sleeve them after welding myself if it’s bad but welding “always” distorts the sleeve. Good question and logical thinking. 👊😎
Making this kind of power is almost always done on methanol , gas does not have the power to achieve the numbers needing this kind of reinforcement. Cooling on methanol is no issue. But I doubt this would effect cooling enough even on gas to matter much or cause a worry.
Truthfully , the duromax engines do come out clean .. watch the video I do on oil for methanol .. I speak about the cleanliness of the oil always in my engine
@@paulskartslifan4206 Question for ya, sticker on engine says use 30wt oil but manual says 15w40, what would you use? pretty stock, just head polishing and new valves/springs/pushrods. 4500 ripems tops
SAE 30 wt .. straight 30 ... Lucas karting oil ... good for gas or methanol ... good film strength too .. also make sure to like the video if you have not .. I need all the help I can get these days .. not putting out to many videos like I used to .. so need the help 😜
Has anyone had a problem with bad case casting on the 212 Predators? I have a suspect area just below the cam in the open boss adjacent to the oil drain hole.
have you ? Yea cool man ! I’m sure the block is still around ... these things are strong .. got my 467cc done up in welded armor like this and it made 63.8hp .. thing was really cooking.. trouble is the bore wore out in just a couple mins of run time and I can’t find anybody that does big block sleeve inserts .. well honestly haven’t been looking that hard either ..too busy
A while back i commented on the new Tillotson 72mm and 3'' bore reinforced blocks and you tried to find them but could not . Just got my 72mm in and it is such a better starting platform than a Predator block for $ 81.00 you can't beat it . A billet block is cheaper than doing all this labor.

Beautiful job Paul, making the real engines and real POWA 💥

killer!! thanks paul!
WOW....😳
Didnt Lifan come up with a "beefier" block?

Id love to see you weld some mounting points for a motorized bicycle! Id like for you to do a block welding "how to".
Where can I find these pieces so I could weld them on my 212?
@@VatoX3Tirado these where made. I don’t know if anyone makes them for the gx200 / clone. If you find some send me a link

Paul do you hone these blocks after you weld them? Are the bores still cylindrical after the bracing process?

Do you tig weld or use a spool gun? just curious
Tig
Does this affect cooling or anything?

Just tore into twin 440 duromax's, they seem a lot cleaner inside than the predator to me. Just luck or have you found this also?

Sir how much that kind of engine?
Found a smog pump😋👍. Need chromemolly pushrods now.
Send me a pic ..

Ok .. make sure your liking all the videos for me bud .. I haven’t had time to make many and need them to count .. and send pix once you get them .. 😎
@@paulskartslifan4206 ok sure thing
How much horsepower will this block hold?
Nobody could really say .. but this is how you make the block as strong as possible . This block can take some real power
It really comes down to what ur parts can handle. This helps just keep everything ridged an not flex an crack the bearing pockets
Wish you did precut metal for predator 212 hemis I'd pay for that! I want to weld it myself
Yea it’s time consuming cutting out those pieces for sure I get what your saying. Just block out some time and dig in. Send me pics when finished
What’s the cost too have this done?
// go to site and under category shop services you can check current pricing
Can i weld up my shitty opel inline 4 engine A16let llu... i want to reinforce it to handle high psi and all that good stuff😊
You can weld up any chamber. Just make sure to have it shaped and milled so it can seal up to the block when your done

What went into the build to make that power?!?!?!
How much Hp will. That big mod engine make Paul on gas. And meth?
Making your own billet block might be easier.
