I think this is an interesting perspective, that "photography can cause you to loose touch with what's around you". I found the opposite, that it actually causes me to become more analytical of the world, and how it portrays the elements of design and art (line, shape, form, texture, etc). It keeps my phone in my pocket and keeps me in the moment more. Incredible film btw, visually it is just so beautiful.
That is an interesting perspective as well! As long as you are in the moment more that is all that matters:) Thanks for watching!!
same here, it allows me to look at things through another lens
This is the epitome of show don't tell. Conveys so much emotion, so much meaning, almost no words
My goal was to try to tell the story completely visually! Thanks for watching!!
@@GxAce no prob, always look forward to your stuff, short films, camera reviews, and all!
@@Daniel.Anugerah Glad to have you on board!
You have captured a photographer's life perhaps better than anyone. Bravo!
That is high praise! Thank you!!
"yeah just left a Hasselblad on a bench outside who cares we rich af" lol.
Little does the girl know, he actually has an entire closet full of Hasselblads. Jokes on her.
The feature on DPReview brought me here. The content made me stay. This is very well done. A story told with minimal dialogue in such a unique manner. I really love waist-level finders for the perspective that they bring. Thank you so much for bringing this to us and please accept my condolences on the passing of Ms. VanHamlin.
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch. I'm glad my project spoke to you. And thank you, she will be missed.
Man this is incredibly, very well done. Supper impressed
Thank you so much!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I have a video of my dead dog too.
Cinematic Masterpiece. Amazing
You are too kind!! Thanks for watching!!
I'm wordless... both about the sensitive film who touch my heart and the subtile photographs of Ms. Van Hamlin! I'm full emotions fulfilling my mind... thanks a lot!
Wow!! Thank you for watching :) :)
Brilliant concept and stunning execution. It was so warm and gentle and touching! Great work!!
My heart broke at the end when he walks away from the Hasselblad... I love sad endings!
Great movie.
The true meaning to this story: Never leave your Hasselblad on a bench.
...really nice work. Touching. Poignant. RIP Corrina Van Hamlin.
I graduated as a photography student back in 1995. My main camera was Hasselblad. Your film is truly nostalgic to me, beautifully made. Thank you.
I don't know any better compliment than to say :
I smiled - I cried and it now lives inside of me
Thank you so much for making this. It was heartbreaking and so beautiful.
I like how this really captures our obsession with always trying to get better at our craft. This goes for any medium as well. It’s the same kinda deal. But with photography. It’s in the moment. You can’t remember it and express it later like with music or painting
Yes! It can put us in some really difficult situations.
This should be aired on every national television. So much to see here.
Wow. Just- wow.
I really love this, thank you so much for making this.
The art direction is so amazing, no matter sound or visual, it's just amazing!!!
Thank you so much! Art direction is super important :)
This is simply stunning and you deserve to be shot into RUclips stardom with it. I can relate to living my life through a lens far too much. I often feel that I should put the camera down and focus on life instead of capturing it pass me by. Well done!
If only that could happen hahahah. When I made this film I didn't realize how much of myself I put into this until it was finished...
A true film with an excellent story. Great work.
Just watched this for the first time. Beautiful. Surprised and sad to see the dedication to Corrina Van Hamlin. This is a wonderful tribute.
Excelent perspective of the devotion to photography and how you miss your own moments to capture others .
HUSTLE THE HASSIE !
Thank you! It's definitely a balance!
This is incredibly moving. Beautiful work Casey.
Wow just wow. One of the best short films ever. So good!
Such high praise! Thank you so much!!
This is so great.... this emotions, the story... everything... god goosebumps when i watched it... absolutely stunning work! Cheers!
Thank you so much 😄
Super picture in picture storytelling with the classic unwilling subject
Hasselblad's before ho's bro...
That is how the saying goes I’m pretty sure.
hahahahaha :D :D (Y)
this is absolutely moving. amazing perspective and incredible story
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!
I love this. Just brilliant. Also love your reviews - but please give us more of this.
I have no words to explain the feeling that it gave me. It's kinda deep and amazing. Well done.
I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!! Thanks for taking the time!
dude this is just so nice and I kinda hope the movie never ends, great work!
Sorry it was so short :(
The struggle’s POV inside photographers.
So beautifully executed for something all too real.
My favorite aspect of this is that in just a couple minutes & nearly zero dialogue it shifts genres.
Until the final scene, I’d consider this a horror.
love the concept great little video was very moving the shutter sound of the hasselblad really put all the transitions in for me
Duuuuude! This is so awesome! I absolutely love your perspective shots! This and some of the shots from your other film remind me of a more polished version of Arrinovsky's technique in Requiem for a Dream. I hope you've seen it. If not stop what you're doing and watch now! LOVE these videos! Please keep them coming!
Thanks for watching! Wow! Arrinovsky? Not sure I should be compared to him hahaha. I love Requiem for a Dream. There will be more coming soon!
Fantastic project! So well done, seriously. I think the message about how photography can cause you to lose touch with the world around you is an interesting way to look at it. I definitely know people who feel that way about it, but personally I make photographs to stay grounded in my surroundings and become more involved with the world around me.
Thank you so much for the kind words. Yeah everyone views it in their own way, but for some it can become a distraction.
Man i'm so glad to have found your channel! These art pieces rly made me tear up, even your camera reviews stirs emotions inside of me 🥲
Extremely well done. Thank you.
Pure genius, incredible video 👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Goosebumps!
Peak emotion on that last shot of the white chair. I also really liked the sticker.
Breathtaking opening shot.
Thanks! It almost started with a similar shot but booming up on a jib in a camera store. I'm glad we ended up going this route!
Reminds me of the series Sherlock, from the music, the sounds, the creative aspect... Love it.
amazing, love the sequence
The perspective is so cool, very interesting and so well done! Props to you!
Thank you! It was a ton of fun to make!
@@GxAce it really shows in the finished product! Some shots just look so natural and easy...
Hello. I have been so touched by this film. Really moving story. I am so sorry for your Loss. I agree with you , sometimes the camera or need of capturing something doesnt allow us to live in the moment. Thank you for this film. I wanted to ask about the camera but just was touched by your work
