    I'm not far from Grantham they are on about putting a monument of HER UP no I'm not from the North East but my Dad was he worked down Dean / Chapter . I think one day we will need coal again .

    With every year easington gets worse. The little village by the sea that i loved is dead.

    I had the pleasure of visiting Easington Colliery in the 70s and going to the pit baths.

      My Old Marra Neil Down a Deputy at Easington colliery, was in the baths in the 70s when a strange man washed his back after he dropped his sponge. Was it you Ben? I remember he said the pleasure was all his.

      @@sycophanticminion3861 hahaha that made me laugh so much, but no it wasn't me, i was staying with my friend John Hutton in Corbett St and his father worked at the Pit we went to the Pit baths before hitting the Town at Peterlee, we were both in the Army home on leave but John later also worked at the Pit, i expect someone will know him on here, we are still in touch, i hope you find the strange man who er washed his back, i remember me and john were the only ones there at the time and none of us had a sponge hahaha.

      @@bengunns9500 Yes i know John Hutton, top man. The last time i worked with him was years ago, it was at Caterpillar Stockton.
