Yes all these things can exacerbate an underlying issue but are not the root cause.
I have been diagnosed by a clinic. It is wooooo painful!!! Now the pain is constant and I haven't been working because of it. I applied for disability but was denied. At times it is so painful that I go days without eating properly drinking and absolutely without talking. It hurts so bad that I can't even cry!!! I tried to get to a doctor but with no job, I have no insurance and can't afford to go. I really need help and don't know what to do!!!!

Please ... What are the tests I should be demanding for ? I saw a specialist and she suggested custom night guard + physio but also said it wasn’t sure it would work... all I did was a x ray and physical examination. I’m sure there’s gotta be tests and than 100% diagnose the root cause of my issues
a CBCT and an MRI can show a few things (i.e. osteoarthritis in the jaw joints, position and condition of articular disc, etc) but there is no testing/imaging that can show dysfunctional muscles.
I'm 21, and just a month back i got jaw pain, clicking sounds and sometimes even locking, i did CBCT which shows TMJ OA and two cysts after a few Xrays my dentist said it could be sleep apnea because of anenoids. Also i had braces 8 years back, and i wore retainers till date. Please let me know your opinion about this

Couldnt it be the other way like first tmd then neck and causes pelvic tilt?Like my jaw functionaly shift to the right side and i feel it kinda pulls my pelvic up of that side

@@theTMJdoc omg its actually so strange how i didn't even realise I was clenching my jaw until i started having jaw pain. Before this I had chronic ear pains that were really bad and sadly when i went to the ENT thrice all he used to say was your ears are fine and send me home with a bunch of decongestants. I was so scared and thought no one will ever be able to tell what's wrong w me and I'm barely 17 years old lol. Then I found your channel and it has helped me a lot. Thank you!
