PSA if you don't want to buy a curly hair towel you can use an old cotton t-shirt 😊. I use the noughty co wash and it's a game changer!

What you call a curly hair towel is actually a microfibre towel 😉

@@heli_elli219 I know but Carrie called it a curly hair towel so I figured I would as well. I personally think microfiber towels make my hair frizzy so I prefer a cotton t-shirt 😊

By the way, some projects make hair feels crispy because they’re supposed to and that’s what you want, it’s called a cast! The cast stops the frizz and then you’re supposed to scrunch it out with either your hands or a satin pillowcase and you’ll be left with the softest frizz free curls 😍 #curlygirlmethod

Heard about it about a year ago, and finally decided to embrace the curls. Didn’t follow it faithfully until about 6 weeks ago when I finally bought CGM-approved hair products and noticed a difference almost right away! Can’t wait for a few more months when I get more into it and see how my curls turn out :)

Such a good tip video, I also brushed my curly hair out at school which resulted in mass frizziness and wasn't until I went to college at 16 and realised my hair was better styled curly. In recent years, tangle teezer is a life saver, brush when wet - on average wash twice a week and use Paul Mitchell Neon Sugar Twist Tousle Creme, really defines curls and no crispness. Only diffuse hair in winter when it's cold, as just find my curls are better defined when left natural to dry.

Loved this, super helpful. This week I've started the curly girl hair method and it's been such a game changer. Now I'm older (I'm 22) I love my curls and they are a big part of who I am which may sound crazy but I was badly bullied when I was in high school, because of my crazy curls and I loathed them and straightened my hair to stop the nasty comments . Now I love them and embrace them! And wouldn't want my hair any other way. Also the discount is fab because I've been wanting to try Noughty hair products. Thanks Carrie.

THANK YOU CARRIE!!!! I’m a 16 year old wannabe actress and I also have extremely curly/fizzy hair and I can never find anything to help my hair so it’s always so good for other curly hair queens to share there advice and tips. Every time you said something I was like YASSSS so many people try to give advice on curly hair when there themself have straight hair!!, butt you really know what your talking about. I have always had curly hair and I absolutely hated when I was younger cause it made me even more likely to get picked on. Now I am 16 I really like my hair because it does make me stand out but ever now and then I get so self conscious of my hair and whenever people ask if I like my hair the default I still go to is “sometimes” but you always being so uplifting and joyful about your hair makes me so happy and all my friends say there could never see me with straight hair as my personality just wouldn’t be the same!!! I remember watching your first video about the curls back in the day. At the time I really disliked my curls and my hair but in watching how you worked with yours I felt like there was hope and it motivated me to love my own. Throughout the time since that video I've found a routine that works for my own curls and I love them so much now. I remember for years people telling me they would love my hair and curls and I would just mutter how much I hated it. Now I just smile and say thank you. Embracing the curl was the best thing I have ever done and I think it's great you're spreading the curl positivity!

Yes finally!! I love that my hair is curly, but often I can’t get it to stay the way I’d like it to stay. It does for a while with the crunchy products you often find for curlier hair, but it’s not great. So if I can get my hands on the products you recommended I’ll give those a true. And I have had a similar experience with brushed out frizzy straight-ish hair.

I relate so hard to not knowing you have curly hair for a while because I used to blow dry my hair WITHOUT a diffuser 😭 and then BRUSH IT WHEN ITS DRY 💀 and so I just tied my hair back everyday for school for literal years. I got to high school and researched how to have curly hair and BOOM ringlets showed up on my head even without products 😂😂
(These ringlets also took an hour to straighten, the heat damage is not something I miss!)

If a gel creates a cast around your hair you're supposed to scrunch it out when your hair is completely dry, then your hair has all the hold and definition without being hard, all wonderful soft curls. Hope this helps ;-)

Your curly hair story is soooo similar to mine! 😁
Most of my life my Mum had always brushed my very long thick hair into very frizzy ponytails. At roughly 13 I decided that I wanted my hair short and my Mum had said that as a baby my hair was always curly. She had a sneaky suspicion that it was going to get very curly. I remember not being 100% sure whether it would and whether I'd like it but I am now very glad I did. Like you, I went back to school and everyone was very surprised at the new me 😂 At first it was very frizzy and hard to tame but a few years on I have embraced all the curly girl methods and love my curly hair 😁

Today I saw the noughty hair care range when I was out and thought 'maybe it'll tame my wave a little' so I took the plunge and MY GOD I HAVE CURLY HAIR. I had a similar situation with my curly hair discovery. My mother used to relax my hair to make it more manageable (all the brushing made it super puffy and my hair was ridiculously susceptible to humidity and moisture). So for a decade I had this hair that was fighting my desire to keep it straight, and more irritatingly, would not hold a curl. Fast forward to me conditioning a cousin's hair and marvelling over her curl structure when my mother let me know that my hair used to curl like that. To her dismay, I immediately gave up my efforts to keep mine straight after that. Now curly hair is my look and *I LOVE IT!*

My hair is curly, not as curly as yours, but still more than wavy, and I struggled so much with learning how to look after it as a teenager, because it was so long, and I was so lazy. But now it's slightly shorter I can blowdry it as straight as I can and then I plait it to give myself controlled waves, and I love that

I saw this video right after having used the taming cream from Noughty - so good!! I was a little girl with spiraly ringlets (I used to get called Shirley Temple), but for a while there I just had poofy hair because I was surrounded by people who had straight hair (besides my dad who has super curly hair but his is really short so it is a bit different). So that meant a lot of brushing my hair and people blowdrying my hair. From the age of 7-14 I just had weirdly wavy, thick, fluffy hair that I hated. I yearned for my curls back. When I was about 14 I realised what I had to do to take care of it and now those super defined curls are back and I am so grateful. I loosely follow the Curly Girl Method thanks to my sister (who also went through a similar journey).

I used to HATE my curly hair, I'd always straighten it or tie it up because I used to let it dry naturally and it was more wavy than curly. Finally getting a diffuser at 17 was a game changer and now I can't get enough of my curls, makes me sad that I missed out on all those years of loving them but I've adored them to no end these past 3 years!

My 4 year old daughter has curly hair (skipped a generation, she has it from my dad). I'll definitely be looking into getting some of that spray, as the mornings are a bit of a nightmare - bird's nest!

One thing about brushing your curly hair! IF you don’t like the idea of brushing when wet (I don’t really like to, because of the reasons Carrie said) you can brush it when dry and then spray it down with water. I get it wet enough to re-engage the curls and then I put some oil or leave in conditioner on the ends. You can also put some kind of oil in the water you use, like argon oil! Just shake and spray.

I have curly hair exactly like yours (but brown and in a pixie cut) but for the majority of my teenage years I’d torture myself through the process of chemically straighten my hair just so I could get “cool” hair cuts. Ah the Emo fringe...anyway. After transitioning back to natural and doing the big chop where my hair literally bounced back to curls I quite literally sobbed at the hair dressers chair cause I was myself again. This video is such a good representation of curly hair so thank you Carrie. And to those who say curly hair can’t be short and feminine my faux hawk begs to differ.

I was about the same age as you when I embraced my curls! & my hair is very similar to yours (although mine is still long!)
My hair had always been frizzy when I was young, and I did straighten it constantly for a few years. But then I was in a school production of Back to the 80s when I was 14, and put a bit of mousse in my hair to see what happened... & wow!! It took me some time to work out how to manage it, but now on the rare occasion I straighten my hair I don't feel like me. I love my curls!!

My hair is the straightest hair in the world but my mum has amazing curls like yours and I never realised how much work you have to put into maintaining it! I just use shampoo, maybe conditioner if I'm feeling fancy, and then let it air dry!

It’s actually quite good if some products make your hair go crunchy. It’s called a cast and it sets your curls. Then when the hair is dry with either a cotton T-shirt, a tiny bit of oil or some leave in conditioner on your hands you scrunch out the crunch; then you’re left with soft defined curls 😊
Some great tips if you follow the curly girl method

I have curly hair. And when it was super long, it was GORGEOUSLY LOUSCIOUSLY CURLY like your hair. I cut it short (I showed a picture of you to my hair dresser and asked for a Carrie Hope Fletcher cut), but now my hair is straighter. Cutting it short made it kind of straight. I miss my ringlets and curls so much.

My curls are more ringlets and I often get asked how I keep it in check. Shower and get it wet every day (only wash it when it feels gross) then tangle teaser and put in a small amount of an amazing product called Curl Activator. Its a blue bottle pink lid found in The Range and Home Bargains and it's only £1!!! I get through so much of the stuff and it's my secret weapon 😂
Found out very early on that blow drying was not a good idea and havent done it for over 20 years, tempted to try diffusing though cause it works for you.
This would have been such a good video for me and my family to have when I was younger thank you for letting others have this info!!!

I got a buzzcut 2 months ago and donated all of my hair. So my hair is less than 2 inches long AND straight af... I'd love to have curly hair, but I think there's not much hope
btw, this was the third time I donated my hair and it all started because of you ;)

I recently started wearing my hair wavy/curly, it took me until 21 y/o to realize my hair wasn't straight oops haha. My hair is nowhere near as curly as yours but I'm really enjoying it so far :). Definitely going to look for those Noughty products when I visit the UK again!

I’ve had insanely curly hair my entire life and unlike most people, I’ve always always always loved it!! It was a pain in the summers when I would swim every day but I’ve always had it super long and big - I feel like my hair is very much apart of my identity, without it I don’t know if anyone would recognize me lol

To all you youths out there, who aren´t so happy about your curls: I GET IT! I´ve been there, flattening my hair for hours trying to pass as a straight-haired person... And trust me, it took hours.. So, not worth it!
I agree with Carrie. My wild curly hair is an extension of me, a part of my strength. Most of the time, my hair is so much low maintenance, that I barely have to do anything - people with straight hair would give their right arm for that~
