Short story about a one and done'r I was in ranked with my TK hwoarang vs a kishin Jin. He beat me 2-0 and messaged me on PSN saying I'm too predictable. Bare in mind this was my first ranked matches with hwoarang in about a month and a half. He then proceeds to send me PSN voice notes and we ended up chatting on a PSN party for about 30 mins just about Tekken stuff. He also said raijin hwoarangs are better than me lol. We had a friendly discussion and said yeah let's play again some time. Next week I had a different Tekken name and I ran into him in ranked with my Feng 3 different times. He got smoked 3-0 and he one and done'ed me each time. Later on in that week I noticed he removed me as a friend and he also blocked me on Tekken so he would not run into me again in ranked and get smoked. Met him in the lounge and he won't even respond. Mike these Jin players have no balls. What a SHAMBOLIC pathetic excuse of a man!
Why shouldn't he have blocked you? I don't see the problem. You beat him so bad he doesn't want to play you again. That's HIS choice. That's HIS game. HE should pla how HE wants to play. He didn't plug on you. You said nothing about him spamming or being toxic in his game play. If you gave him a rematch and he didn't give you one back WHO CARES?!?! Go find somebody else. There are THOUSANDS of other players for you to beat. Yet here you are complaining about ONE player that one and doned you. It doesn't matter. It's not life threatening. A rematch won't cure cancer. You not getting paid big bucks to play tekken. So you a regular guy complaining about something that doesn't matter, crying about a another regular player who didn't even do anything wrong. He played you fairly and when you dogged him he (WISELY)left to find another player and maybe a better chance of winning. Why would ANYONE work hard(it's hard to rank up in tekken 8)for thier rank points, get beaten 3-0 then risk even MORE precious points just so YOU can feel good wen you beat them again?! I swear bruh you tekken rematch retards get on my damn nerves man. Let people play thier game the way they feel most comfortable. You would look foolish telling people how to play warzone or pubg but when it's tekken all of the sudden there is only one way to play tekken and be respected. Anyone can play any game any way they want as long as they dont cheat. You want rematches? Cool not everybody does. And that's OK. You don't like rematches? Cool. There's a "leave" button for a reason. And that's OK.
Bro said it doesn't matter, it's not life threatening and a rematch won't cure cancer and then went on to waste his time writing a bible passage about it. I read this and I could only imagine you were very very angry writing it. Relax, brother. You can block people if you want, sure, and we can talk about it. Just like you think this player has the right to do what he wants with his time on Tekken, we have the right to talk about it as much as we want.
i notice theres very few moves asuka has that jun does or maybe im confused, although i wonder if kuma has mashima bear combat how did panda learn it since they have the same moves?
@@RealMikeHollowI think if you really didn’t, you wouldn’t mention it. It just sounds like you are trying to control a certain situation by bringing it up. Dude it’s okay to gaf, acting like nothing gets to you at all is just poser material. Just my 2 cents, much love
@@RealMikeHollowYour house, your rules lol but don’t give power to haters by mentioning them. Treating them like they don’t exist is the worst thing you can do to em
This makes sense. Because the logic behind teir chasing is which character can I get the most wins without Learning as much. A drag player can do more with less and put you in bad situations more easily. By your description Feng player's need more character knowledge to create the poke monster counter fighter. For shit sake Drag can stuff you with neutral jab. Anybody is going to figure that fact out in 3 seconds of using him.
Sounds to me like Dragunov needs more nerfs. I feel like games should implement a scoring system in ranked that incentivizes playing a full set. It would be easy to make it so that winning a full 2 to 1 set is more rewarding than one and done. I would even go as far as to reward the player that loses twice, just to give an onscreen affirmation that its always better to try. I'm thinking that the first loss, in this example, takes 50 ranked points, but the second loss in the same set gives like 10, and if you win one you get like 30. So losing 1 to 2 only costs you 10 ranked points. Then you make winning the set worth a bonus, and quitting after 1 would actually LOSE you the most, because you only get 30 for the W, but lose 50 for the L. Quitting 1 to 1 would lose you 20 points, but losing 1 to 2 only costs you 10. Losing 0 to 2 costs 40, which sucks, but at least it wasn't 50. I hope that made as much sense as it did in my head. Long story short they should just design ranked to reward good sportsmanship/match tournament play.
@@munki9820 thanks! Steal it and pass it on! I only thought of this recently, thanks to the big names getting new games and basically all of them having match making problems of some flavor. The plug situation in t8 is what finally put it in perspective for me, Bamco has a bad habit of acting like "There's nothing we can do, guess you guys should just stop complaining and accept it," and it made me realize this problem actually has a very easy solution. With a system like this, the goal would be to make it so that as soon as you get some skills, you should see a lot fewer of these types of players. If only punishing cheaters was this easy...
@mikehollow you really opened my eyes through your gameplay and thoughts on how the character plays or should play. The beginning of T8 Feng was too much b/c of damage scaling on top of him already having the gameplan of poke till success. The update that changed him seemed to put him more in line with how you described him in T7. Honestly he seems like in the right place as far a character design, he just may not suit everyones play style. (this is where i agree with your argument with KNEE looking to change characters) With the hyper aggressive gameplay he may wanna either wait for more dlc characters to come out or play lidia b/c her parry could allow him to slow the game down to the playstyle he has.
yeah this video kinda perfectly sums up not just feng i feel like but the current state of tekken 8 in general. and why we're seeing some old players who couldnt adapt fast enough to its insane offensive nature seem like to fall off i feel like another thing thats overlooked for characters like feng is that hes kinda hurt by T8's mechanics. there are so many ways where you can heal off the damage you take whether its doing a long combo from a launch or heat engagers and heat dashes that puts you at a frame advantage over the opponent and this just makes big reward characters superior since they dont have to deal with that but like 25% of fengs work could be healed off from people doing heat engagers and dashes effectively (cause why wouldnt you they put you at an insane advantage) compared to other characters its really interesting to see a top tier character in a somewhat of a bad spot i think you'd see more people play him if dragonuv didnt exist whos just a perfect tekken 8 character
Feng was fairly balanced up until the 4th season or so of T7 and then they just decided to destroy his archetype and give him crazy damage. Feng was never intended to be a damage monster he was always intended to poke away at your life and force you to make mistakes. Also, Feng is not the exception in this case he is just an example of some of the many issues I have with T8. (I'm not a Feng hater I also play him) The game is fun and overall it is a good game but I don't think that it is a good fighting game right now.
Dont let anyone tell you who to play as. Whether its a regular player or a pro. Doesnt matter because its your choice of fighter at the end of the day that keeps it fun. Forget metas forget other opinions. The rest is yours. Same goes for you Mike enjoy your fighter screw the people hounding anyone about it. Fun rules over meta anyday. We all tend to do better with characters we enjoy anyhow because its the time we spend that grows our skills with them.
I just love the way he is. He's so cool, I love watching his gameplay, he looks badass whith his red suit and I love his lore as a character. Though since I'm not a player and only watch the game I struggled to wrap my head around why people struggled to win with him even though in the tier lists he is always among the top. Tahnk you for explaining in detail how he fights in comparison to other top tiers because I i was seriously lost.😅
This reminds me a lot like Hungrybox and how he plays Jigglypuff, hit and run, pokes. Then Rest for the “Big Tekken” approach. Feng’s interesting but you really hit the nail on the head, you can really tell who’s a good or bad Feng.
For me the issue is people don't understand the difference between tournament viability and character choice vs their own matches. Tekken is an incredibly tightly balanced game with the exception of the top 5ish characters, people rarely agree on who is stronger than who. It's pretty common consensus that Hwoarang is considered weak at tournament level but without understanding why and the ability to apply that he simply is not as weak as he would be against a top level player.
As a hwoarang main, people tend to not realize this. His move list is over 180 (I think) 3-4 most after yoshi and king. He’s a stance character with over 20+ frame moves on block but what MOST people who don’t play or don’t tend to realize that MOST if not ALL his move set is highly punishing even his plus frames and all of his strings can be interrupted or sidestepped IF you TRY to. THIS IS WHERE he falls apart to keep up with the top 10-12 characters in the game. If you watch high level hwoarang matches, notice Hwoarang barely use his pressure strings (left and right flamingo) because most of it is punishable. Hwoarang literally becomes a poke character with a Just frame launcher and you have to know how to punish opponents. Those plus frames don’t mean **** when you know how to punish his highs and flamingo strings. Meanwhile I’m having a great time with Lee and I just know the basics of that character and haven’t even got the execution of him down YET lol I honestly think Lee even though he still requires execution and kinda still plays linear and is hard for him to open people up, Lee has so much tools to use and easier to play in my opinion than to Hwoarang. IDC
I feel this, Hwo suffers from being buffed/nerfed in the wrong way to either become unplayable or OP. You HAVE TO think after a certain level because turning your brain off and just running your blender flowchart WILL get you launched/floated at some point.
@@OctopusH2O I know he’s very punishable he plays linear as well as a lot of his stuff comes from highs. People try to step to the left and duck imma make you constantly pay for that. But he has way better tools overall than Hwoarang. If you can get his execution down along with HITMAN cancels and using him as a keep out “artist” he’s a nightmare to deal with.
@@Chris_Da_Prince what do you recommend for people that ssl duck ? I play against people that don’t know this but I’ll struggle if I encounter players that know this
I fully agree with this sentiment, Tekken has taken the biggest shift with 8, players with more defensive/poking playstyles are being drowned out by the massive nerfs to defensive options and buffs to offense. And seeing how Feng is more of a poker that can't mindlessly spam he has to work more than other top tiers.
Feng is very very strong, he could be easily considered as no.1 with the correct arguement. Hes probably 4th best in the game because I think Nina and Yoshi are miles better, I feel those 2 are even worse than Druganov. Druganov is playing Tekken when he beats you, Nina and Yoshi are playing their own messed up game. Alisa is probably better than Feng so I would personally put him 4th. Hes just Tekken 7 Feng with even more buffs. Pretty hard downplay from Knee. I heard Pakistani's were saying they think Bryan is top 5 and stronger than Feng which may be the case. Feng is so easy to play so Bryan might only be stronger in the hands of the top 10-20 players in the world. Anyway Knee is playing S Tier characters Bryan and Feng so you can't blame the characters only the player. People have had insane results on those two characters so it is a hard downplay.
Only thing I'd disagree with here is ease of use with Feng. I think the reason he's the least used top tier both online and amongst top players is because of his difficulty. He doesn't have an execution barrier, he has a scope and guessing barrier.
Feng main here. First off…you just said you placed Feng as 4th Best but then said Nina and Yoshi are better, Drag is better than both and Alisa is probably better than Feng too. That would be 5th place lol. And secondly, it’s not really downplay when they understand the char to that level. Feng isn’t an execution beast like Bryan nor has the incredibly overwhelming pressure Drag or Nina has. He very much depends on your ability to read your opponent and counter them effectively. That in itself is much harder to do with Feng in T8, especially since defensive play is much weaker now, add to that the nerfs he then also received recently. Idk why people have this belief that being a strong player means none of your opinions and/or conclusions have weight and their trying to downplay
Don't really get how Nina doesnt play tekken but dragunov does. Nina is poking you down looking for occasional counter hits. Her only weird stuff is SS1, evil mist and hayashida stepping. I get saying Yoshi plays his own game because he is generally a rule breaking character but what Rules is Nina breaking? If you think t8 Dragunov plays tekken then so does t8 Nina
Someone gets it Although Dragunov is incredibly strong, he is one of the single digit characters in the entire cast that binds by the rules of the game, helps that playing with and against him is incredibly straight
@@anthonyosei-kufuor2784 Bro you play feng? I am sorry to tell you but the moto of feng is pressure. Plus all of this to downplay him and put him on 5th place. Why you do that? You want to feel that you are playing a difficult/ not broken character? Do you feel guilty playing a broken character? Cause yes he is not neither nina or yoshi but he is powerfull af. Stop displaying him. And accept that you are playing an easy execution pressure character. Yes he has more attributes but those that i mention are his main. A guy that have practiced a lot against feng since tekken 7 until now cause my training partner mains him.
If you were in the auditorium at VSFighting for top 8, I hope you didn't take my row's constant booing of Feng Wei too personally! (jokes on me, I lost my voice by the end of the weekend) I do think players see Feng Wei as a crutch from the dominance towards the end of Tekken 7. I didn't think KingReyJr could take it though, as much as I wanted him to.
As someone who mained Feng in Tekken 5 (he was my first ever Tekken main), & has been my secondary since Tekken 6 (Kazuya's been my main ever since), I agree, I personally think I can play Feng quite well in Tekken 8 but your point still stands, as Feng is still my secondary! :)
I know bro started scheming as soon as he read that tweet lmao Poke characters who can't just plus frame, stance, string, mixup, evasion, their way into good pressure are hard to play regardless of their strengths, especially at a high level and don't get me started on some of these heat engagers.
*Hiss*!!! Hell naw! I've been wanting to play the Chinese mountain troll for almost 15 years ( did not have money for consoles). I had always been told that the game was hard so I zeroed in on him because I remember him being described as "hard to master" (He's hard alright but so rewarding!) T8's Feng in my case has the issue of having moves that require space--- seemingly every character has the ability to hit me multiple times before I've done anything---I haven't figured out how to use back kempo effectively, however it feels more beneficial to "snap and release" ( deceptive step or shifting clouds + ( input) ) or attempt to t-kick them into the air before I try anything else since characters track so well that I basically have to knock them on their backs to get enough time to use it! I can understand why he's not the most popular...too bad 😅
🤚 Feng main here. I thought it was only me but I agree. I find it difficult playing against characters that don’t require thought. Why does a king have so much armor? Why does Drag have a burst damage move for every situation. I start to feel that Feng isn’t that top like people say he is…
I think Fengs very powerful but he's not brain dead. I imagine a lot of the people that just listen to voices online or copy what they see from tournaments saw him, tried him out and thought "nah, I think I'll go back to my two button character" 😂
I think its a perspective thing i think any person can make any character strong with proper tailoring ofc. And i also believe with the overhauls and restructurings many pro players have to relearn a game they built an entire career off of. And that alone can be extremely frustrating.
Ok this explains a LOT about how Tekken 8 works and why Dragunov, Alisa, Nina and a number of other characters including Reina Pre nerf and even to an extent Post nerf as insane as that is thrive in Tekken 8
Titan Thors Feng can show feng is worth the effort. I love him because he isnt string heavy or execution heavy. Just pokes, movement and scary 50/50 and a couple strong but short combos.
Don't think you said anything bad. I consider Feng one of the best characters in the game but different characters require different effort and druganov doesn't require much, Aliisa and Nina as well. I consider kazuya extremely powerful as well but the data speaks for itself. If you only care about winning why would you not just pick druganov at this point . Knee is my favorite player still but let's see if he can adjust or if the problem isn't Feng...
It is Feng, he ain’t as good as what people say, he’s top 10. People at higher ranks do not struggle with that match against the character and is harder to win with once you face some Emperors and above . His win rate has dropped as well.
@tekkn_579 I'm a life time player and I'm and out of tekken god, so I'm not coming from the perspective of some red player or something, I just think the top three characters are just far above everyone else
Nah bro. Tekken 7 started the scrub fest button mashing. Power Crush. I remember struggling to overcome the offense on top of offense. I was a poker with Bryan. Everyone in 7 launched on every single counter hit. I'd hit you 20x only to get hit by some dumb sh!t and lose more life than i took away. Then the fake comebacks with the rage mechanics. Comebacks were already meaningless. I try to finish you with a low poke, get parried, combo + rage damage + rage drive combo for half life. 7 rewarded scrub tactics. In Tag 2 and 5, come backs meant something. 7 was scrub friendly. Thats when they started with normal Throw Escape being either 1 or 2, doesn't matter which. Before you had to react to the left or right arm. 7 only ended with pokes bc by the time those finishes happened the game was finished, polished, balanced and mastered. T8 will look similar once the players master it. It'll look like Street Fighter footsies. Its scrub friendly. T7 is a party game not a real competitive game like Tag 2 or T5.
Tag 2s comeback mechanics were arguably worse. Rage was much stronger in Tag 2 and that's not just because I was a Jinpachi main. It was almost twice as powerful as it is now and much more accessible because of the nature of the game. Also, if you played Bryan who is riddled with counter hits you should have been fine seeing as everything he did turned into a launcher as well lool. That's what he was known for in 7. Gotta disagree brah. No Tekken game is a party game. They're all some of the hardest fighting games out there.
Oh yes I fully agree. No one was using drag like that until the end of T7’s lifespan. Going into T8 like you said little risk high reward it’s awful. It is very awful but that’s the playstyle.
I was a feng wei main and I stil am but I dropped him a couple months ago to move to Law because Feng's playstyle got a little too repetitive, and I enjoy variety. And now that I saw Heihachi is coming (who is my true main), I'm waiting for him and I'm never switching again.
@davidcunha01 I didn't use Reina because everyone was using her in the beginning, then I saw Heihachi and said fuck her. I tried Devil Jin but as you know he's the worst character in the game and Kazuya... I never liked him XD
Ive always been a fan of feng. I remember s4 feng on t7 when they introduced df4,3 and chdb3. Scary character. But hes back to how he was prior. Average combos but defo one of the best neutral characters… If you know how to use everything in his kit. But why play him competitively when so many characters do the same time very slightly worse but have more dumb combos and easier execution. Elden Ring boss Dragunov and Nina for example. Extremely silly.
The part where you talk about Dragunov being that one character with the low risk - high reward is spot on actually. Been playing my characters defensively (Asuka main, then sometimes Bryan, Jin and Jun) and to no avail, meaning that it is terrible to do ranked matches. However, after a long-ass set with a friend who's a Dragunov main, took his flowchart + 3-4 key moves (as you've mentioned), easily got him to Tenryu in just a couple of days. Keep in mind, I did it during a time when I was busy and didn't have much time for rank. I can see where you are coming from with this video and it's one of the reasons why I have quit Tekken (for now). The thing you mentioned with Bob's T6 presence then falling off on TTT2 has been a "staple" in the Tekken FGC for a while now, but it hasn't been THIS problematic (well, at least for me) since T8 has become EXTREMELY ACCESSIBLE, which prompts for more new and returning players to depend on character tier lists to win games. Maybe I'm just exhausted with the repetitiveness of it all and how tiresome it is to see players pick "the best" when it was first about "who you think is cool". Keep up with the FGC content, especially Tekken ! Your videos are the only thing that keeps me interested in the game + your opinions
To be honest, Feng Is One of those characters no One would play if he wasn't strong, he is not that Easy but certainly not hard for people Who Just wanna Lab with very hard characters, and he isn't as popular either, wether he Is boring or not the gameplay still kinda makes him look kinda boring, and if we talk about design and lore he Is One of those characters you want in the game but wouldn't main, kinda like Anna, I'm kinda Surprised people care that much he is not that played even when he is strong, so even complaining about people saying he is op or not, only affects Who goes on tournament, you Will still rarely see him, he doesn't have a loyalist fanbase either like Devil Jin, so if he ever gets down to Just good but not great that would be his funeral.
THis is the Mortal kombat 10 of tekken. mk10(mkx) had this same high aggression, mix up..50/50 BULL5HIT!!!! And i like it...i love mixing my opponents and keeping them in block for as long as possible while making them guess. Yeah in tekken 8, just like mkx..theres ALOT of "you have to guess"
🎯 I think you are spot on with Knees reasoning. Do you know if he still is playing Bryan? In regards to poking character types do you think they should get buffs to remain a little more competitive in Tekken? Like better damage on hit or chip damage? Better frame data? Or is it really just a get gud scenario 🤔?
I believe he is still playing Bryan. I saw him using Kazuya as well. Its really tricky to buff poking characters because if their pokes become too plus on block or strong, they'll be overpowered. Personally, I wouldn't buff Feng Wei. He shouldn't have access to high damage everywhere.
I know this video is about feng, but imagine if the game was a bit slower paced how great Victor would be. His space control is insane because of his long legs and overall great reach. Not saying he's terrible but I think if the pacing of the game changed a lot of those high A tier characters would essentially swap to S tier.
At this point if tier horse aren't playing Dragunov or counter picks then their not tier horseing right. Knee's Tekken 8 fundamentals seem to be lacking, which you need if you're focused on top tiers. I'd suggest trying to specialize in a particular character or play the hidden high tiers like Arslan with Nina if you're competing. But the best thing you can do is pick who you like as always.
I'm just starting to play with Feng on T8, I still have to learn the mechanics, but I think he's still a complex fighter who takes more skill than nifty botton mashing.
Feng was my main in tekken 7 since season 1 i really picked him up, i liked that he felt like a "secret top tier" and was really enjoying the challenge. Then he got buffs after buffs and he just became boring to me and in tekken 8 i just picked up Bryan and Steve and having lots of fun with them.
Feng was one of my favourites in T7.. What bothers me in T8, df3 shouldn't hit grounded, his damage is too high, FC df4 shouldn't track both sides, ws1 should be -1 instead of -3.. And I miss his legacy red green outfit 😅
@@RealMikeHollow I HATED one'n done'ers when I first started playing this game. After so many months of people doing it to me, I can only be what this game has made me.
Hopefully the next big patch will tone down all the offensive non-sense. I refuse to play mashy even if it is the best play style. I just block n pray my brain adapts
Here is the truth, dragunov is for people who want to be carried with minimum effort as possible (I have trouble memorizing and remembering combos and i main asuka bc she has less to learn) and yeah she has a punish that does 95 damage but its not easy to hit since tekken counter hit mechanics is trash Feng is annoying and strong but when I tried to learn him i got bored the same way I did in tag 2 But he at least needs more brain power than dragunov or even king
Yeah I agree with Male Setsk....I mean Alpha Pattycakes is a God in the right hands. Crazy how you mention Soul Calibur. Man that's one franchise they need to bring back but the game director left Bandi Namco/Project Soul. 😢 The one and done people, I agree with. Those people are beetchs 😂

Finally some sensible opinion on hworang. He’s a struggle to play after tekken king. Really unsafe, way too many launch punishable highs, gimmicky… he’s a struggle to play with
Hwoarang has been almost the same for a long time. Higher level players know his options and punishes. So yer right, after Tekken King, you have to play mind games in 4D.
Knee that has not adapted to Tekken 8 managed to beat Ulsans Dragunov with Bryan .I can't wait to see when he fully adapts and finds a character that suits him. Yesterday In EWC he made a come back twice against two different people also with Bryan
And I completely understand tho you’re right feng is broke he’s fine where he is but he ain’t Drag 💀 like every drag player game plan is the exact same and we can’t do a single thing about it but yeah I can agree about feng tho
Feng honestly feels like watching people do a bunch of cool long ass shit, turn stealing and plus framing you to death and waiting for a hit confirm to actually start a mix up
You cant mash flash, its very timing specific and often launch punishable. spin and back kenpo are basically the same. You cant just do it you will get hit.
Tho i agree with the fact that feng is thousand cuts character, his pokes being good does make him good in this game. Pokes deal permanent damage in a game where recoverable damage is a huge thing. Only way to deal with pokes is to poke back, where back kenpo comes into play. His backswing although not safe but launches on ch. But saying yoshi can flash so back kenpo isnt great is disingenuous. Bc argument can be made that feng whiffing a back kenpo attempt is basically free while yoshi whiffing flash can get him launched. (F*ck yoshi btw). His ch tools are great too. i12 homing mid basically. +5 on block shoulder in heat. Addition of b3, df3 being a safe mid launcher with excellent whiff recovery. Some of the most oppresive lows in the game. He is no dragunov but there is no way he should be downplayed bc other characters have good stuff too. U cant out run feng either bc of the nerfed backdash.
THIS is a sound assessment. His style is phased out because the cerebral style of play is damn near gone in this new game. Too many hyper priority, broken hit-box dummy-friendly easy access attack flow charts.
Meanwhile Mulgold just won a major with Feng. And, Knee got second at a Korean event with his old main Bryan loosing to Lowhighs Shahen. This game is just hard to be consistent on a tournament level. Its not entirely a reflection of the characters as much as it is the mechanics in this game. You cant win coinflips all the time and you can only challenge plus frames as often as it works. Its the nature of this game. Get put in the blender or get counter hit.
You can't just mash flash. You have to be in heat or nss to get the launchable flash with range, regular flash has the smallest range in the whole game, you literally have to be at point blank.
And Tekken is played at close quarters. Block strings are only effective at point blank so as long as you're doing that, flash will hit you. It also hits if you're just standing next to them and not pressing a button.
I'd say if you're able to play him at his optimal level, probably Feng, but Jin is one of the easiest characters to use and he's extremely strong so people might lean more towards him. The outro song is called Howling Butterfly from Naruto.
i mean i am only blue ranks so i cant speak on the highest level. the difference of fighting Feng to the top like Drag, Yoshi, etc is truly night and day. like i might get cooked but thats on me. compared to the best characters that can just cook by being FING gorillas!
I'm also at blues and the way I deal with dragunov is with jabs, works like a charm. As for yoshi, there's no trick in his book that will work on me because o used to play him since ttt2.
Here is my FLAMING. I fundamentally agree with all the video BUT the Argument "This char is Harder and/or Weaker then Dragunov" is true for EVERY single character in the game making it basically pointless. P.S. Considering Feng a poking character while he has an unseeable snake edge and disgusting 50%50 is kinda unfair but is no Dragunov at the end of the day
Oh thing I don't get is why do people think knee owes us an explanation. If he don't wanna play Feng he ain't playing Feng. Fuck Feng is pony tail is dumb. Also as I lost a set to a Tekken Emperor Drag (I am currently flame ruler with my Bryan) from not breaking a tackle I can not wait to deal with Murdock. Bring it you tackling bastards.
Players say what they want regardless if it's true or not, imo Feng has never been broken or busted like Leroy, Lars, Bryan etc. he was always just very good at poking and evasion, now in Tekken 8 we have characters taking all of Feng's abilities he has excel in like poking, evasions etc. and each character in Tekken 8 has an op version of those traits, yet these Clowns still call Feng the best character even with the nerfs, let that sink in..
with the poking argument, this is why i say nina deserves to be as strong as she is, because in order to get her insane frames/pressure in the neutral, you need airtight execution. with nina you also need to be good with counter-hit timing to get the most outta her. however, with feng, there's like no execution involved in his poking/counterhitting so you only have to worry about timing rather than execution AND timing. I think feng still needs nerfs🤷🏽 just as strong/oppressive as nina but requires like half the work due to a large amount of the movelist having BUILT-IN defense. same goes for yoshi and alisa but theyre an entirely different story.
I'm not sure you need frame perfect timing with Nina. I've never used the character before and I can do her combos and pressure just fine. It's definitely no EWGF or Bryan taunt cancels. A lot of her most powerful stuff is very accessible as well. A lot of Nina's best moves crush highs as well and allow her to hit big power moves that have excellent wall carry so she always has built in defensive tools.

Short story about a one and done'r
I was in ranked with my TK hwoarang vs a kishin Jin.
Shambolic behaviour from the young man
@@burntpotato7116 ironically his name was Tell, the Truth 🤣 What a clown 🤡

Long story short they should just design ranked to reward good sportsmanship/match tournament play.
this is a genius idea, if only bamco gave enough of a shit to implement something like this!
Yeah, Lidia is a good idea for Knee I think, although I saw him playing Kazuya and that was some cool sh*t. He looked Hella powerful.
yeah this video kinda perfectly sums up not just feng i feel like but the current state of tekken 8 in general. and why we're seeing some old players who couldnt adapt fast enough to its insane offensive nature seem like to fall off
i feel like another thing thats overlooked for characters like feng is that hes kinda hurt by T8's mechanics. there are so many ways where you can heal off the damage you take whether its doing a long combo from a launch or heat engagers and heat dashes that puts you at a frame advantage over the opponent and this just makes big reward characters superior since they dont have to deal with that but like 25% of fengs work could be healed off from people doing heat engagers and dashes effectively (cause why wouldnt you they put you at an insane advantage) compared to other characters
its really interesting to see a top tier character in a somewhat of a bad spot i think you'd see more people play him if dragonuv didnt exist whos just a perfect tekken 8 character
The Raid !!! What a banget of a movie. Best fight choreography imo!
I mess with the assassin fight in Raid 2
@@Urbanboy732 nothing beats the classic raid tho it was awesome

Meanwhile I’m having a great time with Lee and I just know the basics of that character and haven’t even got the execution of him down YET lol
I honestly think Lee even though he still requires execution and kinda still plays linear and is hard for him to open people up, Lee has so much tools to use and easier to play in my opinion than to Hwoarang. IDC
Lee is definitely super strong and people hardly talk about him
Lee is also very punishable
Someone gets it
Although Dragunov is incredibly strong, he is one of the single digit characters in the entire cast that binds by the rules of the game, helps that playing with and against him is incredibly straight
Yeah being against Feng feels like being mad dog from the raid tbh
If Feng is a mad dog what is Dragunov? Probably a raging dragon
I had gone home by then so I didn't hear anything 😂
As someone who mained Feng in Tekken 5 (he was my first ever Tekken main), & has been my secondary since Tekken 6 (Kazuya's been my main ever since), I agree, I personally think I can play Feng quite well in Tekken 8 but your point still stands, as Feng is still my secondary! :)
I know bro started scheming as soon as he read that tweet lmao
Poke characters who can't just plus frame, stance, string, mixup, evasion, their way into good pressure are hard to play regardless of their strengths, especially at a high level and don't get me started on some of these heat engagers.
*Hiss*!!!
Hell naw! I've been wanting to play the Chinese mountain troll for almost 15 years ( did not have money for consoles). I had always been told that the game was hard so I zeroed in on him because I remember him being described as "hard to master" (He's hard alright but so rewarding!)
T8's Feng in my case has the issue of having moves that require space--- seemingly every character has the ability to hit me multiple times before I've done anything---I haven't figured out how to use back kempo effectively, however it feels more beneficial to "snap and release" ( deceptive step or shifting clouds + ( input) ) or attempt to t-kick them into the air before I try anything else since characters track so well that I basically have to knock them on their backs to get enough time to use it!
I think the hottest take in this video is bro claiming that Dragunov is ugly. Guy's a chad
Titan Thors Feng can show feng is worth the effort. I love him because he isnt string heavy or execution heavy. Just pokes, movement and scary 50/50 and a couple strong but short combos.
I’ve fought some “Super” aggressive Feng’s 😂
If Fengs start getting aggressive and they're good, it's a very very long day at the office 😂

Man, it was such a good game 😭 wish it got a re-release.
If I had a nickle for everyone I know (excluding myself) who mained heihachi but picked up feng, I'd have 3

Thank you, Sir 🙏🏾

I think you are spot on with Knees reasoning.
@@RealMikeHollow Understood, thanks for the insight.
Dragunov main from TEKKEN 7 I love that my boy is OP. We suffered now we thrive 😂😂😂

Agreed on the video concept. Btw what is that outro song? it sounds like a Naruto game
Its from Ninja Storm 2. Howling Butterfly ☝🏾
OHHH the Raid reference? LOVE that movie. Everyone play SIfu
Sifu is an awesome game. Super underrated.
@@RealMikeHollow Amazon is making a show and one episode is based on sifu
I saw the trailer. Really looking forward to that.
i was about to ask u about this but you already made a vid. i find it funny that he said this a day before Feng won VsFighting
Fengs very capable. I think Knees having a hard time with him and needs to do some soul searching.
@@RealMikeHollow yea Knee hasnt adapted to T8 yet
Knee that has not adapted to Tekken 8 managed to beat Ulsans Dragunov with Bryan .I can't wait to see when he fully adapts and finds a character that suits him. Yesterday In EWC he made a come back twice against two different people also with Bryan
And I completely understand tho you’re right feng is broke he’s fine where he is but he ain’t Drag 💀 like every drag player game plan is the exact same and we can’t do a single thing about it but yeah I can agree about feng tho
Facts idk about xiaoyu being up there but definitely difficult
Nothing is more fun then playing an OP character being Brain dead while playing is Most of the time the Most fun way to Play
Feng honestly feels like watching people do a bunch of cool long ass shit, turn stealing and plus framing you to death and waiting for a hit confirm to actually start a mix up
That was T7 Feng not T8.
Downplying top tiers like crazy lmao
They literally nerfed Knee in this game.
I havent got much playtime on tekken but i did wanna try Feng Wei next
You cant mash flash, its very timing specific and often launch punishable. spin and back kenpo are basically the same. You cant just do it you will get hit.
We do need buffs to the defensive aspects for the defensive minded players..
Like nerfing movement killed jdcrs run, nerfing defence is currently killing knee's.
Bro knee was the turtle god in T7 that was beautiful to watch 💀
It was like he unlocked Ultra Instinct ☠️
Can’t do that anymore when heat exist
@@mibbzx1493 not just that but the game also feels different.
I would think he won atleast 10% of his matches by running out the timer
You can't just mash flash. You have to be in heat or nss to get the launchable flash with range, regular flash has the smallest range in the whole game, you literally have to be at point blank.
And Tekken is played at close quarters. Block strings are only effective at point blank so as long as you're doing that, flash will hit you. It also hits if you're just standing next to them and not pressing a button.
Question Mike who's better Jin or Feng? Also where does that outro song come from?
Most pros say feng but i think its extremely close
I'd say if you're able to play him at his optimal level, probably Feng, but Jin is one of the easiest characters to use and he's extremely strong so people might lean more towards him.
The outro song is called Howling Butterfly from Naruto.
The rematch man 😈
Gotta get that rub back 🗣️
i mean i am only blue ranks so i cant speak on the highest level.
the difference of fighting Feng to the top like Drag, Yoshi, etc is truly night and day.
like i might get cooked but thats on me. compared to the best characters that can just cook by being FING gorillas!
I'm also at blues and the way I deal with dragunov is with jabs, works like a charm.
As for yoshi, there's no trick in his book that will work on me because o used to play him since ttt2.
Feng Wei, the most broken poking monster in Tekken history
I loved Feng when he was trash in T5 I will love him when he is a broken powerhouse in T8
I miss defensive tekken
Here is my FLAMING.
I fundamentally agree with all the video BUT the Argument "This char is Harder and/or Weaker then Dragunov" is true for EVERY single character in the game making it basically pointless.
P.S. Considering Feng a poking character while he has an unseeable snake edge and disgusting 50%50 is kinda unfair but is no Dragunov at the end of the day
Bruh if Marduk comes out we’re all cooked lol
I'll become Chef Hollow 🗿
Oh thing I don't get is why do people think knee owes us an explanation. If he don't wanna play Feng he ain't playing Feng. Fuck Feng is pony tail is dumb. Also as I lost a set to a Tekken Emperor Drag (I am currently flame ruler with my Bryan) from not breaking a tackle I can not wait to deal with Murdock. Bring it you tackling bastards.
Skill issue, get better.
nobody said he does, lol
I don't think anyone is taking your bait brother
I always 1 and done lad I'm just built different 😤
*writes name in Death Note*
I main Azucena and play Lidia bro they feel limited and the nerfs to the both of them yeah I might just pick dragunov up
👏🏾 always love your content bro
Thank you, brother ☝🏾
I didn't know EndymionTV is a pro at Tekken 8 damn
I don't think it's actually him. I tried to see if it was but I think it's just someone with the same name.
bruh the clip from the raid rofl
13:18 i try to rematch everytime but sometimes the lag is horrendous but if the game is perfectly smooth and u dont rematch on a W you are just... man
Did you say Knee is a pool player?
Uce, I tried looking for it. hella interested.
Paul
@@cbimz I'm dead. Tysm
😂😂😂😂😂😂 almost spat my water out.
Are you playing Endymion the RUclipsr here?
I'm actually not sure if it's him or not 😂
bro's carried by Feng (he has them right hands)
I main zafina so I kinda get where you guys are talking about. She was used to be a pokey irritating character but now she's forced to play a game that she's not good at.
Feng is the best Tekken 7 character in Tekken 8
